Ah, its that long stubborn streak. My greatgrandma had it, my grandma had it, my mom had it, and I had it too but left it at the door when things no longer fit for me 'conventionally'. Its hard to remain a certain way when that way makes you want to be dead.
  2. This song haunts me somehow today. I remember listening to it when I was 16, actually. Now I listen and I really get the perspective. With all the young guys (20s) I've been meeting lately with their energy and optomisim I can really identify with the lyrics: "S(he) wants to see with your eyes. S(he) wants to smile with your smile. S(he) wants a nice surprise every once in a while." ~sigh~
  3. I find the comments on this article offputting, particularly the 'Thomasian Catholic'. If I hear 'Gravely Disordered' one more time I'm going to scream. Lewis always amazed me with his cogent apologetics. I was a student of his until I read the Screwtape Letters. That I couldn't finish. The only thing I could get out of it, and its probably his most interesting piece mind, is that if we are Christians and are confronted with such a coniving enemy as Satan, how do we survive spiritually? Where is God and his Grace when we are confronted with that kind of power? We cannot win even if we aren't supposed to be winning the battle ourselves. It was very discouraging for me at the time. I came upon better answers later, but that book upset me. I suppose I should have read that rest of the book to get that answer, but he lost me too early on. Ok...I'm done bitching.

This is true. I have a blind spot about the nations in Eastern Europe. Its a hold over from the Warsaw Pact days.
  5. Hopefull One can hope that their sacrifice and history can still inform us today so we can avoid another World War. I fear not, though, not with the Caliphate on the rise.
  6. I actually always hated being considered 'GenX'. The connotation was that we were the generation that should never have been. The ones that escaped the coat hanger. What a lovely notion. The whole Grunge culture and fashionable contempt for the 'Yuppies' left me cold. But then I was born a generation out of step. My folks were nearly 40 when they had me. If things had been 'normal' I would have been born in teh 50s and not the early 70s. I'm with you Ashi. I hate labels. I have never fit any of them...except Queer ones. This might be why I get along so famously with 50-60 somethings. I can relate even though I'm younger. My Mom and Dad's generation were the mother's and fathers of those born in the 50s. Its weird.
  7. Wasn't this age group called GenY at one point?

A big congratulations to my cousins on the Emerald Isle. The Irish people now have a freedom many gay people still do not have here in the United States. It may serve as a major indicator of the great change in our lives as gay men and women that we are on the verge of experiencing. Near universal acceptance in the Western World. You must understand how deeply rooted in the Catholic Culture Ireland is. Of all the nations in Europe, and most certainly in Western Europe, it has been the most conservative and resistant to social change. To see that Gay Marriage is now legal there after just 22 years of legal homosexuality is very encouraging and then to know that Ireland is the first nation in the world to make Gay Marriage a part of the constitution is revolutionary! It is my dream to one day visit my ancestral home. I now have even more fuel to power that dream.
  9. Keeping in line with Ashi's beautiful up-tempo because he is the bomb and loves to be kissed, I give you the next Club Rave once it gets remixed: New Politics - West End Kids

    Chapter 44

Ah...ya made me cry a little bit, Comsie. I'm glad I'm gay or people would call me a sissy! Affecting chapter.
  11. Its not so easy being Gay now is it Chris?
  12. Wow Adam! Thank you! I'm sorry I just caught this today. I have a couple of folks that are very good at pointing out my problems. They are invaluable to me. If you become one of my readers I would be most honored! Thanks for the response!
  13. The sun beamed through the high treetops igniting the mist turning the air into gold. The air was alive with the smell of new fallen rain and of the flora sighing in utter contentment. Amongst the ferns and the undergrowth spiders had drawn their intricate weaves and had caught in them rain-diamonds shimmering rainbows through their watery insides. The awakening day brought out the song birds with their endless chorus met with the plain bassoons of the frogs by the stream. Underfoot feet touche
  14. Yes. This is quite a stew of angst. Brian's coming seems almost to be the footfalls of the Destroying Angel. All he touches flies apart. Businesses up in the mountains, no matter how popular, can be rather intimate and cloistered because of their distance from 'civilization'. The staff in these places get very close. Its like a village almost. Brian comes from a place that is a cultural maelstrom. San Francisco is the very definition of cosmopolitan and he is one of the lightning rods in the throbbing gay community there. He carries with him that storm's power wherever he goes. It goes largely unnoticed in places like LA or New York or Miami, but in smaller places he'd be like Gulliver walking among the Lilliputians. Even here in Hillcrest he'd be the talk of the Club Set. Yet, he's just a guy and he doesn't know his own strength socially...much like Snowflake does not know his own strength physically. This may be why they are a match.
  15. Thank you Cannd! I'm glad that my silly little story has enough to it to get your juices flowing and thinking. In many ways, as with many of my works, there is a level to Snowflake that is very personal. A catharsis for my feelings which I hope synchronizes with others. In many ways, this story is a study on the concept of the Instant Crush. What is it? What can it do to the two involved and what wreckage can it make in its wake? Sabrina is an anchor. Of them all I think she is by far the strongest. One has to be to be transexual. Her surviving her challenges demonstrate that. She will be a lynchpin here and her love might be the strongest of all. Jimmy. He is very young. Exhuberance of youth leads to the Instant Crush often. But, like many fancies of the Young they are strong and powerful, but short lived. I think Jimmy will me more mature now...and he has a magnificent mentor in Sabrina. Brian's medical education is compartmentalized. You will see this in a lot of men who become doctors. They are great at dispensing advice and treatments on others but are blind to themselves. Also, Neurology is a very specialized arena. We also don't know hoe far along Brian is in his studies. He might not have reached osteopathy or kinesiology in his studies yet. Brian is probably our greatest mystery right now. We haven't pegged him yet. Snowflake...yes. Like many driven men there is some pain that drives him. We are seeing this past through the blinds. Thanks for reading Cannd! I am cogitating Chapter 7 even as I write this.
  16. ~~~~~~~ Sabrina
Thank God they put a Starbucks mini-café in the canteen. I swear to god that Snowflake had me up most of the night. Not that I didn't mind parts of it, but he came in so unexpectedly late and BOY was he horny! He didn't even bother taking my nightgown off. He just stripped and was on top of me in seconds. We must have done it four times last night. Only, it’s like he wasn't there at all. I felt like I was playing switch with a machine. Me topping two times, him topping twic

  18. OOooo!!! Very Law and Order! Too much fun!
  19. Menace, Here is some 80s right from its bloody beating heart. This particular video has more Gay iconography than Top Gun!
  20. And for those of us who's mothers have gone to Heaven, remember she is still with you in every loving word and every loving act that you do for someone else. She taught you that.
  21. “But….that’s my name?” Moira said stunned. Joraan was still lost in his memory. ~~ A face stared back into his. It glistened with the rain and spray of The Falls of Moyreen. Mayra’s slightly slanted almond eyes seemed to shift colors depending on her mood and her mouth was a pink lushly sweet guava. Her ears were delightfully pointed. Her hair was strands of gold and amber and red. Her skin was that of the white lily or the petal of King Shoraan’s Rose. It embraced her pearlescent curvin
  22. I wonder if they've made a DJ mix yet? I might need to download it and add it to my workout set.
  23. I think the Village People need to get a cut from this song. Its a smash hit right now. I think all the Gay Clubs in town are playing it nonstop.
  24. Welcome Aaron.
