    Chapter 9

Brady is the soul of the band. He'll always make sure they're on the right track.

    Chapter 9

Glad to know it was effective. Thanks for the review.

    Chapter 9

Hopefully he was talking about the night before. Otherwise I may have made a mistake. :|

    Chapter 9

The Prophet Theodore. Maybe I'll write another book under that name.

    Chapter 9

Brady is actually based off of someone I know, or rather his physical appearance is. The personality and the inspiration don't max. The only difference is that the eighteen-year-old boy I know with the curly beard has really dark brown hair instead of blonde, but I don't think that disqualifies Brady. We'll have to see what happens with the song, won't we?

    Chapter 9

It might calm down in a bit. I'm not entirely sure. I just write the story and then people tell me what the pace is, haha! I hope it's manageable. There are a few more short chapters coming up, but most of them will be the same length as the others have been.

    Chapter 8

Thanks for reading it. It was emotional to write.

    Chapter 8

Well, I may need to know more about dogs. There will be a sequel. . . Oh, did I just say that? If you check out the forum for this story I've already responded to the Wendy's question. I hope you'll forgive me for not posting my response here. I'm trying to get more traffic over to the forum.

    Chapter 7

Welcome to the party! Even if you are late, seems I'm late in replying to this review as well. Silas definitely can take care of himself. He's got the experience to know when he's safe and when he isn't.

    Chapter 9

The band opened with Navigator the second night of their performance, and the response from the crowd was even better, though it was not as spiritual for Brady as it had been the night before. The Knitting Factory had been sold out due to the popularity of White-Chocolate Antifreeze, and it was the largest group that they had ever played for, but the night before had been an experience that Brady still couldn't put out of his mind. After the show they had packed up their instruments as quick
  11. I'm glad there are people to analyze this for me. I never would have figured that out on my own.
  12. Oh boy... I worried about bringing Adelaide into the diner and the Wendy's as well. If you remember the first time Silas walks into Mom's Diner Jenny gives Adelaide a strange look before she approaches SIlas. I hoped that would be enough to cover the strangeness in that instance. In the Wendy's I was going for the fact that she was well-behaved enough to avoid having attention drawn to her. It may not have been the best decision, but it worked for me at the time. "Population 6000" as quoted by Jack when they first drive past. Large enough for some anonymity, small enough for people to know all the big names in town even if they don't know the people themselves. People know who Pastor Simms is, but Chelsea? People have seen her before in Pastor SImms' presence, but that's about all the know for sure. I'll just have to give up on explaining away the trucker. Sometimes things get by me. I like to think that Pastor Simms shoved Chelsea as she tried to get away while she was still wearing her jacket from before, and she broke her arm falling down rather than from being hit. But I suppose that could have been explained a bit better.

    Chapter 8

Silas has a great deal of pride, and it has kept him away from other people almost as much as his fear of rejection has. He knows who he is and what he wants in the moment, though his ability to plan for the future isn't as good as it could be.
  15. Cynus

    Chapter 8

Silas was always willing to put his own life at risk in order to keep away from other people and prove his independence, but once another person's life was in jeopardy he couldn't justify it anymore. He might have run forever if he hadn't come across Chelsea at that moment.
  16. Cynus

    Chapter 8

Chapter 8 is perhaps the most pivotal chapter of the first part of the story. There is so much that happens here that affects everything else, and when we return to Silas again there will be some big changes, not only for him but for everyone involved. And I scolded Adam for not liking rock music too. Shame on him, really.
  17. Cynus

    Chapter 8

Well he is a master boy scout with two years of living in the wilderness to rely on. It's not that difficult to survive a blizzard if you know what you're doing. But if you pay attention to Adam then you're not alone in thinking that Silas has lost his mind. He's doing the best he can to help Silas and then finally offers the blanket as a last effort. But this is a pivotal chapter and is really the turn of events for the whole story. I think you'll like future developments, but what can I say? I'm the author so of course I want you to keep reading.

    Chapter 8

The answer to both of your questions is Saturday. I suppose this is as good a time as any to show that the chapters follow a pattern. Two Silas chapters and one Brady chapter. If you're looking for the band to come back just look to every third chapter. As for Adelaide . . . I've mentioned elsewhere that I know nothing about dogs, at all. But this story wouldn't have worked out without her, and so I had to write a dog. I don't know how well I did, but it seems that for the most part no one is complaining. And when it comes to being bisexual . . . I used to identify as bisexual before I learned that pansexuality was a thing, and I received that kind of abuse from people often. There are several other stories I've written that follow bisexual teens, and that's part of the reason why I wrote them. We're all normal, we're all here, and we shouldn't let anyone try and take that from us.

    Chapter 8

THank you, as always, for the review. This chapter is really the turning point of the whole story. With it being the point of true contact between Ian and Silas, Silas has big opportunities for change over the coming chapters. And now he has the whole gang together to help him through it.
  20. Cynus

    Chapter 6

    I'm glad you enjoyed it.
  21. Cynus

    Chapter 5

I wrote Chelsea in order to make her that kind of Christian. I've spent to much time in distrust of the faith of my childhood that I often start to think that all Christians are the same. This isn't the case, of course, and Chelsea is my way of expressing that. I know that there are a lot of people out there who like to generalize, and I've been guilty of it many times myself, but I find that people are not that simple. Every individual is different from everyone else, and it's better to embrace that diversity. Silas understands this too, at least on an instinctual level, but all of those years of conditioning keep him from realizing it consciously.
  22. That was a brilliant idea, thank you. I've made some changes. My intentions with Adam (They're not really intentions anymore if the story is already written, I suppose) will make that age difference irrelevant on many levels. He's an absolutely amazing person, as the story will reveal in time. And as Adam said in the bathroom at the coffee shop, he wasn't going to take Silas up on his offer anyway, but he might have still helped Silas out with his problem had he known that Silas was homeless.
  23. Cynus

    Chapter 8

"Where are we headed for dinner?" Silas asked as he climbed into an old, rusted sedan with Adam. Adelaide crawled into the back while Silas took the passenger seat and looked over at Adam with a grin. Adam seemed genuinely happy to see him, but there was a nervousness in his eyes as well that gave Silas pause. "I was thinking of going to Mom's Diner," Adam said with a shrug, "It's this . . ." "Anywhere but there," Silas interrupted quickly, "Sorry. I realize I've only been in town for a
