  1. I agree 100 % with that ! Too young to die ? what does it mean ? I believe we are on earth to fulfil a purpose. When its done, we can die peacefully. Some leave us young, some have to wait. How many children are dying on earth in Africa and Asia ? Their age has nothing to do with the political and economical troubles wich are the causes of their death. Neither I want to hijack the thread. But I'm just asking whats the sense of it ? Old bob
  2. If you like seafood, try Bouillabaisse, traditional Proven
  3. French obviously ! unfortunately, the pool asks for just one answer. I have too many "kitchenbooks" to choose among them the recipe I would like to bring here. Maybe somebody will ask one ? BTW, Swiss cuisine (raclette, fondue, papet vaudois among others) is forgotten on the list . But anyway, I prefer french cuisine .

  5. HAPPY 43th BIRTHDAY You are a model for our younger members and all your comments leads us (and particularly me) to deep thinking about life and behaviour. GA without you wouldn't be what it is : a family, with elder to show the way and sometimes bringing hard feelings combined with rough humour. Thanks James to be who you are . Old bob
  6. Thanks for your effort to answer my "silly" questions. I was just a way to tease Wildone about his poll . But now when I read all the posts, and even what Wikipedia write about the baseball analogy, I find the pool very interesting. Maybe I will once tell more about my experiences . But for now I have too much to remember .
  7. Hi Tim, want to know more phrases like this one ? I just found a phrase written by my now dead son on an used envelope : " la confiance, cela s'apprend". "confidence (or trust or faith in), you have to (or you can) learn it". For me, its a lesson.
  8. For those who know me from my posts, blogs and comments since more than 2 years, i suppose it will be easy to guess my vote . But I have again a translation problem : The expression Wildone used ("made it to home with the opposite sex?") ? Does it mean you had to live "home" with him or her ? Or does it mean you did it yourself ( like in "homemade") ? And what about a "threesome" with a girl and a guy ? In which category to put it in ? Old Bob
  9. I voted yes also, but I was thinking of another aspect : the problem of the collective responsability. It's an old story. Are the Germans as a Nation responsible for the crimes of the Nazis (the Holocaust, the killing of russian war prisoners, aso) ? The German governments said yes and 60 years ago it was also my opinion. Now I doubt. Is the american people responsible of the way some members of the army acted in Vietnam or in Irak ? Finally, we are all together with a same fate on this earth. Since Ca

  14. Hi CJ, It's a long time since I posted a comment to your story. Enough people did it, sometimes with serious comments, sometimes just for fun. What I want to say that I never saw a story provoking so much comments from a lot of different members. I don

  22. "If you liked this profile of the Doors, let me know and I'll do more profiles on classic bands." Oh Yes ! Is it possible that people of today still like this kind of bands ? Bring other classic bands, and I will compare your taste with mine. As I said somewhere (?) I still have a lot of vynils from the sixtees. BTW, thanks for this blog.
