He crossed a valley hot and wide
and staggered underneath the sun
along those paths that northward run
ignoring pain etched in his side,
for he, escaping knife and gun
had made his way by jungle trail
through tropic rain and stinging hail

Yet ever towards Polaris, pale,

I continue to enjoy reading this story. Kent and Stanley are engaging characters, with whom I can identify. You write in such a way that I am totally in sync with Stanley’s insecurities. You also deal deftly with Christophers lingering unease surrounding Nate, Tad and himself. Thank you for this chapter.
This is a great chapter; Kent and Stanley learning tenderness; Tad, Nate and Chris learning to be three and one; and then poor Markus. I know how he feels. You bring us into each of these orbits, and show us their developing lives. Excellent.
I enjoyed this story very much. Devon can’t help feeling boxed in by the numbing routine. Fortunately, Fabian listened and acted. But maybe Fabian should help Devon get a large notebook so he can record his fantasies and write a novel. I bet it would sell a zillion copies.
It’s unfortunate but true that doctors can overlook something or shut off important avenues of inquiry due to preconceptions. None of us are immune to such blindness. Davey’s going to get well because one person had a different conditioning. Thank you...
And now they are three. Tad will be stronger for their combining, and so will Nate and Chris. As they are the ones to support Tad, so much the better. You write the part of Miranda as avenging sister very well. I wouldn’t want to be on her bad side. Kent and Stanley exploring their wants, needs and relationship together was a lovely interlude. A great chapter.
