How aptly named is this chapter. Daniel’s wolf will be the end of him, I fear. Evan’s mystic journey is fascinating, but full of foreboding. And lucky Franklin! Now I’m ready for another chapter. Soon please?
What a dreadful house to have to take refuge in. Poor Simon. At least he got the chance to say how he felt about his Grandmother’s house and the poor excuse for a church she dragged him to. She and her son can walk right out of this story, and I’ll be pleased.
Your poem pleads for understanding and asks the reader to read as one would wish to be understood. This is indeed an excellent formulation of an online golden Rule. Thank you.
Geo-nerds are a worldwide fraternity, I think, like their cousins, the math geeks. Writing into all four parts of the prompt took considerable head scratching and pondering. I’m very happy you thought it came out all right.
Presidential Greenland beachfront condos! Glacier golf courses! You’re the best. I hadn’t thought of this as something longer, but perhaps... now you have my brain working. Thank you so much for reading this, and for your thoughts.
It appears they’ll land safely enough. I’m glad you picked up Justin’s interest. These two make a pretty good research team in the Canadian wilderness. Thank you very much for reading this, and for your response.
Canada was my very first thought for a setting. Nunavut fascinates me. You are very kind concerning the material in the prompt. It has been a while since I attempted one. That last gesture seemed like a good place to stop. I’d like to imagine the rest... I’m very grateful you read this, and especially so for your response.
After Consideration made my gut clench. How often have I given useless, gratuitous words, blather that burdens and breaks my brothers? How often have I unthinkingly shattered another man’s mirror? You make me feel the hurt I’ve inflicted.
The Truth lifted me up again. You make a good case for the enduring real, the lasting truth.
Thanks for all of these. They are awesome.
I’m so glad you liked that line. I so enjoy writing a bit of a pun from time to time. It’s the math nerd in me. Thanks so much for reading, and for your response.
I like this; your characters are distinct and well drawn. I get an emotional connection to Bill and Adam easily. These are people I know and like. Maybe Adam will gain more confidence and add understanding to the field - it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
I enjoyed the need to look at writing more spontaneously as a result of taking on this prompt. I like your analogy of mental muscle groups: I used several new ones this time. Yet as I said earlier, I yearned for some kind of closure - I’d never have slept without it... thanks again for including me in this!
I’m glad you liked this take on the prompt, and that you felt involved and compelled by the situation. Bush piloting can be an incredibly scary business, and one which often calls for flexible thinking. I hope McTavish was believable in that role. Thanks so much for including me in this!
You’re very kind to have read this story. I really appreciate your doing so, and that you can detect our different personalities and thought patterns. It’s so good you enjoyed it. Thank you.
I’m glad you thought that take on the word ‘Monster’ worked. It was my first notion. Thanks very much for reading this little story, and for your response.
