    Chapter 3

Matt is now firmly in the grip of the network, the machine. What will happen to him? The unknown would surely drive his fears. And what might happen to Andrew, who is seeking to interview the machine, to understand it and report on it? Will he, too, be caught in its gears? I’m really engaged in this story! It’s keeping me on the edge of my seat.

    Chapter 2

Another Wow from me. I continue to be glued to this story, and completely wrapped up in Matt’s fate. You’ve opened us to new characters, even as you give us insight into the others we’ve met. I’ll be fascinated to see what happens next.
  3. Thank you for reading, and especially for thinking about Indigo. It’s interesting that the color refers to a deep blue dye, but that it has been redefined several times to be more purple/violet in our era. It’s deep blue enough to name the Indigo Bunting bird, which has a fascinating color seen from the proper angle.
  4. We are indeed an equal part of this world. Nobody can deny us our true light and inner fire, no matter what color it might burn. Thank you for seeing that in these.
  5. Thank you. I’m glad these helped you remember. I sincerely wish they are as you suggested, healing and hopeful. Thanks again.
  6. Thank you, tim. I’m partial to Blue and Indigo - though every color made me smile in their turn. Thanks again.
  7. Red is made from shared humanity, of embers glowing eternally, equal in that divine light underneath the skin where each is like to each, more than not, which those with eyes to see recognize. Orange flies across our dimmed vision like butterflies ascending the breeze, newly emerged and fresh-formed after winter’s rest to scatter across dull ignorance and beat young wings upon our shoulders. Yellow waits unt

    Chapter 1

What a beginning! I’m riveted. What is poor Matt getting into?
  9. This is amazing, and not just for its unbelievable technical wizardry. This fellow is able to play with four mallets what many can’t approach with two complete hands.
  10. This is a beautiful performance. It sparkles without overwhelming the listener with virtuosity.

    Forty-Five

I am regrettably slow to comment on this fast-forward viewing chapter. There’s lots of emotional information here, but I’m left with lots of blank spaces in my head. Now I want to know more about how Liam came to be in that barren, lonely B&B. I also want to know how, and on what terms, Ed and Liam parted. And will Liam ever be able to walk forward into life without overwhelming fear? That you’ve written this chapter in such a way as to whet my appetite for more is a testament to your skillful writing. Thank you.
  12. A universe more inclined to be less aggressively concerned with growth and expansion seems more likely to be kinder. Perhaps that’s just my fantasy, but I’ll stick to it. Thanks for thinking through these three poems.
  13. Perhaps it is heaven, or something like it. I wish it were something we could all strive to build.
  14. I can only hope there are places remaining in this world where these visions might come true. Thanks very much for reading these.
  15. As good as a warm spring day, I hope.
  16. Picture now compassion’s neighborhood, its houses glow in love’s bright colors, where tolerant trees smile and dapple the sidewalks for cherished friends who tarry beneath, as children charge the streets with laughter. Imagine a world where justice smiles and ambles hand in hand with mercy through sunlit green gardens grown where thorns and weeds swelled, while kindness opens bright colored blossoms to blue skies delighted

    Chapter 1

Tansy pudding! That’s a new idea - and my garden has plenty of tansy plants. They grow tall in the summer, and try to propagate by flopping sideways and seeding themselves in the fall. The Apostate is a story I shall have to look for. Your description makes it sound irresistible. Of all the varieties mentioned in Abundance, the Transparent Yellows are the ones I miss most. Decades ago, they grew in my father’s trees and in abandoned farm meadows now long forested over. As for winter storms, they would be so much easier to curse were they not also sources of many faceted beauty. Thanks so much for your reactions and responses to this set.
  18. Thank you for many kinds of inspiration and encouragement. The Melville Sea Song is just one example of such a gift you have given. I hope you liked that one especially.
  19. Your steady supply of excellent poetic examples must be my subconscious inspiration. As soon as you mentioned August Stramm, I saw that possible connection. I confess to have been taken with shorter lines to see what could be made of them. Your invention allows for development and a broad range of expression. It’s no wonder I’ve turned to it often. Thank you many times over for it!
  20. That skyscraper speaks to so many nights in March and April, when a cold rain blows in from the northwest. I sometimes wonder what the trees are saying to the rain and wind, even as the sound of the brook comforts me and them. Thanks so much for your kindness in responding to these.
  21. It could be set to music, and I might attempt it, too. It could be used as a postlude as the altar is stripped and the candles slowly snuffed out, one by one, if not at communion. Thank you very much for your kindness in revisiting this set, and especially that sonnet.
  22. Yesterday morning, I awoke to this. Quite a wake-up call.
  23. Thank you for checking out this chapter of the 2024 collection. Cream Cans is indeed a life lesson. Thanks very much for your comments.
  24. You did. Thank you very much for reading and for sharing your thoughts on these and all of the poems this month.
