Sometimes, people get stuck on Faure’s Requiem, and never explore his other works. While Requiem is wonderful, you’ve posted something that shows us how much more there is to hear.
I’m enjoying this story. Bell is confirmed in my mind as a manipulative ass; Apollo as an unattainable icon. I worry more about Carey in the short term, but Toby is about to get his heart broken too. Excellent story.
I’m completely with @Wayne Gray here. This tale is haunting in its fantastical way. In any way one looks at it, Chase’s life changed by doing the foolish thing and leaving the car.
The chapter title made me wonder if new travails were about to afflict the farm and our two heroes. Instead, you wrote us a fine, beautiful scene, a conversation that needed to happen. Thank you.
