No need for explanation. No worries. I still haven't answered my own questions...

It's not a matter of taking stock...it's a matter of acknowledging that someone cares enough to do something nice regardless of their relation to you or vice versa. (My intent was not for this not to be a vanity post If that is how it came across...I will edit the topic)

I had a deep conversation with one of my friends on the phone this morning at 2AM (thank you tequilla) and she posed an interesting question to me which I thought I'd ask GA. 1) What's the nicest thing someone's done for you in the past year? 2) What's the nicest thing you'd done for someone else in the past year? There's no right or wrong answer nor am I looking for an answer to both questions necessarily. I'm just curious. --CB

This is an interesting topic. I have never found the insult in the word but it was not until I realized I was gay how different people react. I do not think there is a proper reaction as "to each their own" as has been stated above. On a lighter note I will share a story about the one and only time I have been called that word and how I strangely reacted. I have never been one that was big on PDA but the guy that I was seeing at the time reached out and held my hand just before crossing the street. A guy in a douchey mazda miata rolled down his window and shouted "f*cking faggot". So I am a weird person so this is how my brain processed the information. "Faggot" --> "Ferrot" --> "I don't look like a ferret...Do I look like a ferret?...what a weird thing to say. He needs glasses". I didn't realize that I had said these things out loud and the boy I was with (who was visibly upset) stared at me and laughed. Then we got pizza. The End.

This makes me feel dumb for being proud that I put together my new swifter all by myself this past weekend...

I think you did the right thing. Granted every relationship is different and some people are ok with certain arrangements. But I think you want to be with someone that is honest and true to themselves. Short-run...it sucks and I'm sorry. Long-run...best decision you could have made.

I'm not saying he's not a talented lyricist or doesn't make catchy songs or isn't cute........but he's not that great a vocalist if you listen to raw vocals. (Troy Sivane that is...)

I want to be VERY clear. If someone tries to take away my Dr. Pepper from me...I WILL FIGHT THEM TO THE BITTER END!!!!

Finally a teen idol that actually has a good voice and is gay... (throwing shade at Troy Sivan) Also @Comicality...I LOVE that he is paired up with Ed Sheeran in that video

I agree and disagree with so much of this thread. I will edit this post when I find the words. For now, stay vigilant but I hope you can restore your trust in other people.

I also realized I was gay and (partially) came out at a later age. Happy: Luckily for me, I have an established career (that embraces diversity) and good friends so my "coming out" may have been a little more painless than others...and I have no financial dependence from anyone else. When I told one of my best friends, he legit closed out tab (at the bar we were at) and took me to the gay bars and went in with me...that was an experience. Mostly importantly, I'm not ashamed to kiss a guy, cuuddle or hold a guy's hand in public or bring someone home to the family when the time comes. (Even though I am not a huge PDA person, I am past that hump now). Sad: I have had some friendships weaken accordingly (EX: college roommate things I lied to him the entire time) but I think they will come around. Feeling like you have lost [insert number of year] from your dating life. Weird: Also, I have never dealt with [g]A[y]DHD before...people in the gay community are so focused on finding the next best thing that they often mistreat those they care about. I"m not saying this is the rule but in my experience it can be frustrating. There's nothing wrong with focusing on one relationship/friendship at a time. Hope this helped
