It seems like Ryder has a problem making friends and he worries about what happened to him before he was adopted by the Kesslers. He seems to have a lot of pent up aggression from the anxiety which causes him trouble when trying to get to know someone, like the boys on the football team. I believe that one of the biggest things that Ryder worries about is what will someone who he's trying to be friends with think when they find out that he's gay. I intend to keep reading to find out what happens next.

I can't imagine what it's like to watch your mother die, my mom died as a result of a blood clot that went from her lung to her heart she was already dead when I got to her house. I was in the room with my in-laws when my mother in law passed away from cancer. The feelings that you have at that time are some of the most profound that you can have.

The story is quite interesting so far, chapter 6 has been very telling in the fact that there are many people who are homophobes as 1 way of putting it. When you have someone who is supposed to be a boyfriend (as in this case) who tells you he's never done anything with another man besides kissing and fondling then he gets you worked up enough that you won't resist what he wants to do with you. Then halfway through the act he takes off the condom and reenters you and dumps his load then gets up and cleansing up then leaves without giving you the chance to have an orgasm would lead me to the same conclusion that Jerry came to, that Dave wasn't the virgin he claimed to be. Then to have the home of your employer burned because he was mad.I'm glad that they are able to have the Sunday dinner that was planned happen even if it is at a different location. I look forward to reading more about these 3 gentlemen.

This was a great story and only a part of the many that you wrote about these people and their lives. It should come as no surprise to you that the lives of these people have touched so many others and they have been positive for the most part. There were one or two people who were helped by this family and somehow became worse than they were before meeting the family. They took what was handed to them out of kindness and respect and turned it ugly with actions and words. I'm sorry that this big family has had to deal with the losses that they have, and came out better than before because they have the love and support of the family as a whole.

I believe Wade has come to the realization that Matt isn't going to change no matter how much of an ass he makes of himself and then trying very hard to get back with Wade. I don't see that happening because Wade is more focused on his life going forward to where Matt is more focused on the here and now not the future like he should be. Especially since he hasn't given up playing hockey and checking out the guys at tbe GLBT meetings on campus. Matt told Wade that he wanted to get back with him and then go forward in their relationship but then he can't quit talking about issues that Wade doesn't care about.

I just want to say that even though Matt is an important character in the story, his actions pre 9/11 and after leaves me wondering if he's taken anyone else's feelings into account or if he was just thinking with his dick or his head. Either way he may have just kissed the best thing that's happened to him or should I say the best thing he had going for him. He doesn't seem to understand that his relationship with Wade and his extended family is now just about lost to him because of the choices he's making at this time. I wouldn't blame Will if he doesn't want anything more to do with Matt even though he is supposed to be his brother. The decision to sleep with Tony really drove more of a wedge between Matt, Will, and possibly with Darrius and JJ as well. It would be a good thing if Matt would wake up and start repairing the rift he has set up against himself and the family including Wade.

This was a great chapter Mark. The way that you changed the condo to being just the condo and not Jeannie and Hanks condo says alot about the healing that the families are going through after the traumatic events that took 3 members of this family along with Wade's dad. It looks like Will & Zach are starting to trust each other more each time their together. It also seems like Brad has made some remarkable healing over the last week or so, just suggesting that they stay at the condo and not at a hotel showed a lot of courage and strength on his part. If he keeps it up he'll be back close to where he was prior to 9/11.

It seems like for one Brad finally had enough of Frank just moping around like somekind of zombie. What Brad toid him was true he wasn't the only one who was hurting he thought because he lost his son his loss was greater than anyone else's. He finally woke up and told Matt what he needed to hear to get his act together. We'll have to wait and see what happen with Wally and Clara.

Will seems to be getting alot of use out of the last gift he got from Robbie. Especially when he has phone sex with Zach. I'm glad that everyone's starting to get back to normal in their activities as well as mentally. Brad & Will seem to still be struggling with fits of crying, which I know will get better with time.

Wade's brother has met his match with Nana, she seems to be a formidable woman. One things for sure if she tells you to do something you had better do it or suffer her wrath. If anyone can bring Ethan around to be a popular young man it's Nana thats for sure. Just reading about her makes me wonder if having someone like her around when my boys were growing up if she could have straightened my oldest son out before he got involved in gangs and drugs.

It looks like Brad is still having a rough time with his emotions over the loss of his partner that he'd been with for so long. It is so difficult at times for the loss to be so fresh and not so fresh at the same time. Brad has lost a very big part of his life when he lost Robbie, I know what that's like because even though it's been 10 years since I lost my wife it still hurts at times. I just have to cry a while then get on with what I was doing before the sadness hit.

It seems like Wade's mother was trying to be the person in charge of the services for his father. It's such a shame that the senator's secretary kept putting herself in charge of making the arrangements for the senators service then telling Wade's mother about it as if she had anything to do with any of it. I feel that Wade did very well putting his mother in her place by stating that she and the senator were divorced so she had nothing to say about anything, her presence was just a formality and nothing more. I believe these chapters are getting more intense, not so much as to the writing but the sex that everyone seems to be enjoying.

Just getting back to school after losing three parents and then to have a teacher treat Will like that is a bunch of bull. Will's trying to get back to a steady flow again which I believe is going to be a tough to do with the memorial services yet to happen which will cause him to miss more school. At least most of his teachers are working with him about missed work and any quizzes he would have taken if he'd been in school. One good thing that has come from all of this is the fact that his cousin Marie finally apologized to him for all the trouble she caused him. Another thing is that he and his dad are doing better in their relationship than they were before 9/11.

I had forgotten that Wades father was killed when the 3rd hijacked plane struck the pentagon. He can now relate to Matt as he tries to make sense of the loss of Robbie, who he found out that Robbie was his father just before he left to go to Stanford for college. This terrorist attack on American soil has taken so much from everyone in the extended families. I can only hope that they all band together for strength and support during their time of grief, they're going to really need each other in order to get through this. They all have my sympathy for the loss of the family that they lost in the terrorist attacks on the US.

Chapter 38: Survivors and Victims
Butcher56 commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in Chapter 38: Survivors and Victims
I feel badly for the family as they have just lost three people that they loved. Even though they didn't know Hank all that well they knew that she was important to Jeannie so they would miss her as well. They're going to be grieving for quite a while, they'll all grieve in their own ways and they'll be closer now than ever before. The promises that Robbie had Brad make are going to be part of what Brad needs to get through this ordeal. They'll all have to get together to determine what's going to happen with Maddy since Jeannie isn't around anymore, I don't remember whether or not Cody steps up to take responsibility for his daughter. I'm glad that the majority of the family that was in the towers before the planes hit. -
I'm glad to see that Will has someone on his side. The fights with his dad are starting to really take a toll on him especially with the shit he has been dealing with at school. Brad and Stef better wise up or they'll find themselves on the outside in a lot of ways.

Marie sure has it out for Will especially since she had Ferris putting pictures of a dick with warts on it, on Will's locker at school just to embarass him. Only it didn't work like they planned on, Will had the common sense to turn it over to the assistant principle to let him handle it. Ferris made the mistake of putting the first picture on his locker before Will even knew what locker he was getting.

If I remember correctly Marie is out to make life a living hell for Will because she's in love with him. She tells Will that when he is told where she is and that she wants to see him. They wind up fucking after she apologies for the stuff she had caused him. Will seems to be getting some sage advice from Darius about all the drama.

Will did some great things in such a short time of getting invited to Kai's house and learning of his fathers medical condition. First Will bought them a new tv for the living room and then remodeled the house for one thing so that Kai's dad could get around easier by having wood floors in in place of the linoleum ones they had. Then he heard Kai's mom say she wanted to take a sledge hammer to the wall separating the kitchen and living room, while the construction crew was there to do the floors, Will had them widen the doors so they would accommodate the wheelchair better, he also had the wall removed and remodeled the kitchen and had all new appliances installed. Then if that wasn't enough he got them a mini van with a wheelchair lift as well as a motorized wheelchair for Kai's dad. Kai's dad enjoys the ability to get around on his own for the first time in a long time. I'm very impressed with Will for being thoughtful enough to do these things for Koi and his family for the kindness they had shown him.

Will seems to have found a true friend to be around and fuck when they want as well as surf the day away. Kai taking care of his father because he loves him is so nice, you don't see or hear about anything like that in today's society. When Will saw what Kai did at night he was thoroughly impressed, he will make all of their lives so much better with what he does for the family.

Leave it to Isidore to bitch about something that Will did and when she's called on it she gets very upset at the person who's called her on the issue to begin with. It's like Brad said she's getting upset and cutting Will down for buying the property in Hawaii without talking to his dad about it first, basically the same thing she'd done to Brad but later appologized to him for not having his back to begin with. She said she understood what he went through and that he'd never have to worry about that ever happening again and yet she does it to Will. She needs to think before speaking out anymore.
-
I see that Claire & Isidore haven't learned anything yet, their still passed that their actions or nonaction resulted in them not being athe to go to the Bastile day party and getting called on it by Will. Now Will has bought a house in Hawaii closer to the surfing beaches than the villa that Brad owned. At least that's the plan based upon what Brad or JP thought about the deal and the property. I think it was a nice thing that Darius & JJ were willing to not go to the party to show support for the situation with Will.

Mason's in and Tony's out, see what happens when you invite someone to spend a few days with you on a float trip and then ditch that person to be with someone else. It turned out great for Will because he met Mason and wound up having a great time with him water skiing and fucking the hell out of Mason.
-
Will is an amazing young man with lots of potential. He's got a great head on his shoulders he's very smart. He knows when he's been pushed aside and he knows something has to be done about it, although his actions in getting his point across is a little excessive at times. He made sure and appologized to his grandfather after his big blowout at dinner the other night, that's more than his cousin Marie did for causing him to get beat up and get his nose broke. Which she hasn't done and is getting away with it. I don't remember when she does but I don't think it's soon.

It's nice to read that JJ's doing better and he's back to skating. It appears that Will and Hank have to get a few things to work on.
