“What do you mean you wanted to know if you got it from me? You think I gave you genital warts?” I asked, freaking out. “We haven’t even had sex.”

“Yet,” he said, winking at me, to try to get me to calm down. He sighed when he saw it wasn’t working. “When I got it, I confronted Kyle, and he said he got it from you.”

I was so mad my face was probably bright red. “He told you that? He told you that he got it from me?” I demanded.

“That’s what he said,” Erik confirmed.

“And after all that piece of shit did to you, all the lying and cheating, you believed him?” I asked in a pretty nasty way.

“Fuck you,” he said, getting a little pissed off himself. “I didn’t say that I believed him, I told you that’s what he said. And that’s why I was following you out to the gazebo, to see if it was true.”

“Oh,” I said, and smiled sheepishly at him before diving back into this issue again. “You didn’t ask me when we were out there.”

“I got distracted,” he said, and kissed me again, then broke it off, leaving me totally horny and crazed. “Just like I did right now.”

I chuckled and answered his question. “Kyle didn’t get it from me. I got tested for every STD under the fucking sun a couple of weeks ago, and I’m clean. And I haven’t fucked Kyle since before you broke my nose. So you didn’t get it from me.”

“You haven’t been with Kyle since our fight?” he asked, confused.

“No,” I said.

“I thought you didn’t figure out why this was so messed up, and why I was so upset, until after that dude fucked you over in July?”

“Yeah, but after you kicked my ass, I realized that any dude who was such an asshole that he would cheat on his boyfriend constantly wasn’t worth my time, so I ended it,” I told him.

“You ended it?” He blinked in confusion.

“Yeah. You heard something else?” I asked, wondering what else Kyle had told him.

“He told me that you were still with him in July, up until you went to Hawaii. They told me that you were so upset with Kyle breaking it off with you, that’s why you went over there.”

“They?”

“Kyle told me, and Ferris backed him up. Marie was there too, so I figured she knew that’s how it went down.”

“You’d believe Kyle, that lying sack of shit, and Ferris, over me?” I demanded, almost yelling.

Erik stood up and grabbed me, but I tried to tear my hand away. Instead, he gripped me tighter and tossed me onto the floor, onto the bearskin rug. His strong body fell on top of mine, but he landed so he didn’t crush me. Instead, he ended up pinning me down, and I was helpless, unable to do anything. Only I wasn’t afraid of Erik anymore, so it didn’t scare me. “I didn’t say I believed them, I said that’s why I was going to ask you. You tell me the truth, and I’ll believe you.”

“How will you know I’m telling the truth?” I asked.

“If you say it, it will be the truth,” he said firmly, validating me on so many levels.

I looked him straight in the eye. “You came up to see me on Wednesday, which was the day Kyle usually came over. After I got back from the hospital, Kyle came over to see me. He apologized for you breaking my nose, and told me that we’d have to be more careful so you didn’t find out we were still fucking around.” I watched that really piss him off. “I told him that it had been fun, but it was over. He acted all surprised, amazed that I’d turn down fucking a hot dude like him.”

“What an asshole,” Erik said.

“Yep,” I agreed.

“So if he didn’t get warts from you, I wonder who he got it from,” Erik mused sadly.

“Could be anyone,” I mused.

“I guess so,” he said, and we didn’t really say anything for a bit. We’d been lying there, with me immobilized, and even though we’d been having this annoying as fuck conversation, my body was responding to him, and he figured that out.

“You like being pinned down like this, don’t you?” he said, grinding his hips into mine.

“I like it when you do it,” I said honestly. He started thrusting against me, his powerful body smashing me as he did. I moaned and wrapped my legs around him, pulling him tighter. “Oh yeah,” I murmured, as I felt his hard dick pressing urgently against mine, separated only by the fabric of my khakis.

“I’m gonna make you mess up your pants really bad,” he said with a growl, but kind of joking. Only he was really getting me wound up.

“Fuck yeah,” I said, almost a shout. “I’m gonna blast a gallon in these fucking pants.”

“That’s right, shoot that load Will,” he ordered roughly, and I did, moaning and thrusting against him frantically as I blasted my wad in my pants.

As I came down from my orgasm, he gradually moved off of me so he was lying next to me, on his side, and lovingly ran his hand across my face. He leaned in and kissed me again. “You’re amazing,” I told him. “What kind of idiot would want another dude when he had you?”

He smiled at that ego boost. “Thanks.”

“I’m serious. You’re a lot of fun,” I said. He was, but I also knew that he needed an ego boost too.

“I’m not all that into getting fucked.”

“You and Kyle are both tops?” I asked.

“Yeah. I let him fuck me before I found out about the two of you, but I was more or less doing it just for him. I didn’t like it.” That explained so much about why Kyle came up to see me. Fucking Erik must have been like those stories you hear about married couples, where the woman just lies there and endures it. Not like fucking me, where I went totally batshit insane. I internally rolled my eyes at my sluttiness, then stopped chiding myself and relaxed. Being a good lover wasn’t something to be ashamed of; it was something to be proud of. I refocused on my conversation with Erik.

“But he never let you fuck him?” I asked. He shook his head. “Douchebag,” I said, marveling at how badly I’d judged Kyle’s character. I’d judged Kyle’s character almost as badly as I’d judged Tony’s.

He shrugged. “I didn’t like it, so I didn’t want to force him to do it.” What a sweet guy. He’d given it up to Kyle even though he didn’t like getting fucked, which was a pretty big sacrifice. But even more than that, he’d loved Kyle enough not to make him do the same thing.

“You really love him,” I concluded.

“I did,” he agreed, acting like he was over it, only his eyes got really watery, giving it away that he was still hurting.

“You ever fuck another dude?” I asked.

“Once,” he said. “It was pretty nasty, just some random hookup, and it didn’t go real well.”

“What happened?” I asked, chuckling, because I knew it would be kind of comical.

“I was sixteen, so it was a couple of years ago. I was at the gym late, all sweaty and nasty from working out, but they were closing.” As he spoke, I reached up and started undoing the buttons on his shirt, getting a grin from him as I did. He helped me pull it off, then let me pull his pants and underwear off all the way too. The used condom had fallen off of him and gotten ground into my khakis, which were a mess. He looked down at my pants and laughed. “Better get these off.”

I stood up and led him over to my bed, and made him lie on his back, while I took off my clothes. He was totally ogling my body, and I was totally into the attention. Damn, he was sexy. I lay down not quite on top of him, draping my body over his right side. “So tell me about this hot fuck,” I said.

He laughed. “So I was grabbing my gear together, even though I totally reeked, when this dude came up and told me it was OK to take a shower.”

I nuzzled my face into his armpit. “I bet you smell good when you’re all hot and sweaty,” I said, sounding like a whore. He moaned and thrust his hips up into the air. He liked that. “Go on.”

He forced himself to calm down. “The dude was one of the trainers there, in his twenties, and pretty hot. I was glad he was being so cool about it, since I didn’t want my car to get that BO smell in it. I didn’t really think much about it until I noticed him watching me totally strip down to get into the shower.”

“This sounds like a porno,” I joked.

He laughed. “No shit. So I got into the shower and was washing up when the curtain opens and he asks if he can join me, since all the other stalls are clean, and he doesn’t want to mess them up.”

“That’s a great line,” I said.

“Yeah, and it worked,” he said. “I let him. So he came in and there was enough room for both of us to shower, but barely. He started bumping into me, and I got fucking hard as a rock. Next thing I know the dude is stroking my cock with his soapy hands.”

“You are pretty irresistible,” I said, licking his nipple.

He giggled. “So the dude turns away from me and says ‘fuck me’, and I was so horned up, I went for it. I slid my dick in his ass, and it felt good, but I wasn’t into him. So we fucked for a while, and instead of me getting all excited, where I’d blow my load, I just got really turned off. My dick finally got limp enough that I had to pull out, and then we just jacked off while staring at each other. He came, I didn’t.” He shook his head. “Pretty pathetic.”

“I don’t think it’s pathetic,” I said.

“I freaked out after that, and got tested for HIV and all other kinds of shit. I thought I was a dead man, that I’d end up with AIDS. I’ve never been so afraid in my whole life,” he said, and I could feel how tense he was. That must have been really traumatic for him, to endure that. I was guessing that at sixteen, he wasn’t all that mature, and I was also guessing that at that point, he pretty much had to go through that all by himself.

“So were you clean?” I asked, assuming he was.

He nodded. “Got lucky, and didn’t get anything, at least not from him.” He’d cleared the hurdle with the random fuck at the gym, but gotten HPV from his boyfriend, who was supposed to be faithful to him. I felt my heart go out to this guy who had been shit on by Kyle, and the world.

“You know what I think?”

“No, what do you think?” he asked, apprehensively, as if wondering what kind of bullshit thing I’d come up with.

“I think that unless you’re into another dude, you won’t enjoy fucking him,” I said, like I was a fucking sex expert. “And I’ll bet you really won’t enjoy getting fucked until you are really into the dude.”

“I was really into Kyle,” he said. “We’d been friends damn near our whole lives. The very first time I jacked off I was thinking about him, and there weren’t many times that I didn’t. Dude, he was the one, the guy who would be like my partner.” A tear fell down his cheek, but I ignored it, to let him keep his pride and not break down again. “When we got together at New Year’s, I thought my world was perfect. Fuck, I was in heaven.”

“And you felt that way even when he was fucking you?” I asked.

He thought about that, and I appreciated that he did that, gave my words serious consideration. “I don’t know. Maybe I was nervous.”

“Maybe your instincts were spot-on,” I said. “Maybe you knew Kyle so well, that you knew he’d break your heart.”

“If my instincts were so good, why did I fall for him so hard?” he asked, sounding despondent.

“Because you didn’t listen to them,” I said with a cheeky grin.

“Was it like that for you? For your first time?” he asked.

“The first time I fucked another dude it was horrible,” I said honestly. He looked at me, all but begging me to tell him what happened to me, like he was hoping that would make his own situation somehow more understandable. I hated talking about this shit, because it was embarrassing, and because it still bothered me, but in this case, maybe it would do some good, and help him out. I told him all about my trip to Paris, and how I’d gotten kidnapped, and how this big, hulking dude named Gustave had forced me to fuck him, and how I’d enjoyed it and had to spend hours in counseling to get over feeling guilty about it.

“Dude,” he said, and ran his hand across my cheek lovingly. “I am so sorry.” Then he got really nervous. “I didn’t mean to pin you down like that, like I did.”

I smiled at him, at what a sweet guy he was. “I told you I liked it when you did it, remember?”

“Oh yeah,” he said, and then changed the topic. “So you like to get fucked?”

“If I like a guy, yeah, I like to get fucked,” I said. “I can fuck guys I don’t like all that much and enjoy it, but it’s harder for me to let a dude fuck me that I don’t like.”

“That makes sense,” he said. “Maybe I just haven’t found the right guy to fuck me yet.”

“Could be,” I agreed. “After Paris, I went to Rome and met this dude I was totally into, and I let him fuck me. He was my first, the first dude I bottomed for.”

“Was it amazing?” he asked.

“No, it sucked, and in fact, it sounds a lot like how it was when you let Kyle fuck you,” I said. “I remember just wishing he’d finish up and it would be over.”

“That’s exactly what it was like,” he agreed. “But it’s not like that now?”

“No. I met this other dude at the end of last summer, and he got really drunk one night and fucked me. And when he did, he rocked my world. Dude, I saw fucking stars. It was amazing.”

“Really?” he asked, partially in disbelief, and partially in hope that he’d experience that too.

“Yeah,” I said. “He and I aren’t really friends anymore, but there’s this sexual chemistry between us that’s incredible.”

“You know,” he said, looking into my eyes. “I think that if I would have been a lucky dude, on New Year’s you and I would have ended up together.”

“I think we would have both been luckier,” I agreed, smiling at him. He leaned in and kissed me, only he was horny again, and so was I. I pulled away and almost laughed at how disappointed he looked, then grabbed another condom and handed it to him.

He slid it on and raised an eyebrow at me in a suggestive way. “So what are you going to do to me now?”

“What do you want me to do?” I asked, as I moved over so I was on top of him, with his sheathed cock grinding against mine.

“This is nice,” he said.

“You haven’t fucked anyone since that dude at the gym,” I said, stating the obvious.

His eyes bulged, even as he shook his head. “I haven’t.”

“I don’t want you to do something you don’t want to do,” I said, “but I think you’re a pretty awesome guy. You think you like me enough to fuck me?”

“I definitely like you enough,” he said. I grabbed for the lube and slathered it all over his cock just like I had before, only this time, instead of jacking him off, I straddled him, and got up on my knees, then slowly lowered myself down onto his dick. I hadn’t prepped myself much, and he hadn’t prepped me since he was being careful in case he’d accidentally touched his dick when he’d put the condom on, so I had to take my time. “Does it hurt?” he asked, worried about me.

I felt his big cock force my ass open, and then fill me up as it slid in. I shook my head and smiled at him, even as his eyes really got big at this sensation. “No. You have a really thick cock, so it takes a bit to get used to it,” I said. I repositioned myself so I was lying on him now, and my mouth was next to his ear. “You have to give a dude a bit of time to handle your big dick.”

He thrust up into me, and I moaned. “So it doesn’t hurt any more?” he asked.

“No, now it feels fucking terrific,” I said, as I moved with him as he thrust into me. “That’s the advantage of a dude like you, who has a nice cock, a nice thick cock.” I was talking to him in my slutty voice, the one I used with Tony. I wasn’t sure whether I should be happy or sad that he got into it as much as Tony did. “Once you’re in, you feel so fucking good.”

“Oh yeah?” he asked. “You like that big dick in your ass?” He said this as he flipped me over, popping out briefly, but then he was on top of me, with my legs bent back, and he was lining himself up to slide back in.

I felt him fill me up again. “God, I missed you,” I said, and moaned.

“Ahhh!” he moaned back, and started to really fuck me. He had me pinned almost like he had before, and it was totally a rush to have this amazing stud dominate me like this, especially since I knew that as dominant as he was being, all I had to do was to tell him to stop, and he would. But I didn’t want him to stop, and he didn’t. On and on he went, and he had some major endurance since he’d already blown two loads.

He was kissing me again, and the connection got stronger and stronger, until I totally lost myself in this guy. I felt my body responding to him, and then I reached the point of no return. I struggled to get my mouth free, and he let me loose enough to talk. “I’m gonna cum. I’m gonna fucking cum!” I all but shouted.

“Yeah baby,” he cooed. “Shoot that load.” I cried out again, a shriek, as I felt my balls rise and deposit blast after blast on our abdomens. “My turn,” he cried, and then he came into the condom, jamming his big cock into me as hard and deep as he could. When he was done, he pulled out carefully and then took the condom off. He gave me a sheepish look and walked into my bathroom, giving me a terrific view of his muscular ass and back. I heard him flush the condom, and then got to see his frontal view as he walked back over to me with a towel that we used to clean up.

“When do you leave for Oregon?” I asked.

“Tomorrow I go to the doctor and he’s going to try to remove these fucking warts. The next day, I drive up there with my shit.”

“What are you doing tomorrow besides that?” I asked.

“Nothing. Why, what did you have in mind?”

“You like me enough to spend the next day and a half fucking my brains out?” I asked, smiling.

He grinned back. “I like you that much and more.”

August 22, 2001

I sat in the kitchen eating breakfast, bored and depressed. I was depressed because I’d been up late with Erik. He’d come over last night around 10:00, after having a big goodbye dinner and shit with his family. We’d fucked once, but his dick was sore from having his warts treated, so after that we just hung out together. That time we’d spent together, just lying there intertwined had been so intimate it had been more bonding than the sex. Then at 2:00am, he’d said goodbye to me and left. First Kai and now Erik: it seemed that as soon as I found a nice guy, we were separated. I had nothing to do until the day after tomorrow, when school started.

I’d almost been looking forward to the start of school, to seeing all of my friends, but this deal with Marie and Noah had made me nervous. I was sure there was a scheme in the background, where I was going to be blindsided pretty bad. It really bothered me that Noah may be involved in it. We had been so tight just a few months ago, and I had stood solidly with him after Marie dicked him over. I’d even given up water polo so I wouldn’t hate him for being such a shitty player. That he didn’t even call me back was a really asshole thing to do, and I was going to explain that to him when I saw him. Beyond that, I’d just have to make new friends, and hope for the best. I was starting to feel like no one was reliable, and there was no one I could trust.

“Good morning,” Stef said cheerfully as he breezed into the room.

“Liar,” I said.

“We are grumpy this morning,” Stef said, treating me like a child. He was trying to annoy me so I’d tell him why I was upset, but I decided to humor him and let it work.

“Erik left for Oregon at two this morning, or at least he left me,” I said. “So now I’m bored.”

“How about a change of venue,” Stef said.

“What are you talking about?” I asked curiously.

“I have to fly down to Malibu today, and I must be back by tomorrow evening. Perhaps you would like to accompany me?”

I’d get to see Darius and JJ, and I’d get to see Rosa, and I’d probably be able to surf if the waves were decent. But I’d also have to put up with my father. “Did Dad set you up to do this, so he could rant at me in his own house, where I can’t throw him out of my room?”

“I have not spoken to him about you,” Stef said, and seemed offended, like he never passed on shit I told him to my father. Maybe he was doing better.

“I was joking,” I said. “I’m sorry.” He just looked at me, waiting for an answer. “How long do I have to get ready?”

“I will allocate an hour for you to work on your appearance and pack up your things,” he said, and still seemed mad at me.

“Then I will meet you in the foyer in exactly one hour,” I said, smiling at him. I stared at him with my idiotic grin until he relented and smiled back. I took a shower, got ready, and packed up some stuff, then went up to the foyer some fifteen minutes early. Stef walked in just as I did. “I’m early.”

“I am ahead of schedule as well,” he said. “Let us go.” I paused to say hello to Pedro, then we got into the limo and headed to the airport.

“Remember how I told you that Kyle said Erik heard about us by overhearing a conversation between Marie and John?” I asked Stef.

“I do,” he said.

“Erik told me that’s not how it happened. Erik said that Marie told him, flat out pulled him aside and told him Kyle and I were making an ass out of him by fucking around behind his back,” I said bitterly.

“You think he is telling the truth?” Stef asked.

“I do,” I said. “Erik is a really nice guy, and a really sweet guy, but he’s not the sharpest dude around. I don’t see him making things up.”

“That is unfortunate,” Stef said.

“John told me that Marie and Ferris are best buds now, and thinks they’re planning some pretty unpleasant shit for me. And get this, Erik got HPV from Kyle, and Kyle told him he got it from me.”

“Erik has warts? And you slept with him?” Stef asked.

“We used a condom, even when I was just jacking him off,” I told Stef. “He was the one who told me about it, and showed me his warts, and made me be careful.” Not that I wouldn’t have.

“That must make Kyle’s betrayal that much worse,” Stef said.

“No shit. And now Erik’s left to wonder who Kyle really got it from,” I said bitterly.

“What do you think Marie and Ferris are plotting?” Stef asked.

“I don’t know, but there’s more,” I said. I thought Grand may have told Stef about Marie and Noah, but he obviously hadn’t. He knew how to keep a secret. “Noah and Marie are going out.”

“That is a change of heart, at least for her,” he noted.

“No shit. Noah hasn’t returned my calls since I got back, so he’s obviously avoiding me now. I’m assuming that means that whatever Marie and Ferris are dreaming up, he’s part of it. And that hurts me almost worse than her bullshit.”

“This transcends your normal drama, and seems to be a bit more severe. I think you should talk to JP about it,” Stef said.

“I told him about Marie and Noah,” I said. “If you want to fill him in on the rest that is fine with me.”

“I am uncomfortable doing that,” he said. “I do not want you or JP to think I am a conduit of information.” He was being bitchy about this, which was annoying, but he was probably doing that because he felt guilty.

“It’s alright to tell Grand if I tell you it’s alright,” I said, being a little snippy myself. “My father seems to think that his job is to gather information on me so he can sit in judgment over me. I would appreciate it if you would avoid talking to him about me.”

“I have decided that I will say no more to him than I could otherwise discern by watching your movements,” he said.

“What does that mean?” I asked, wondering what the fuck he was talking about.

“Well, when Erik comes and picks you up and takes you out, and even the staff can see that, I think I can safely relay that to your father. But when you tell me about your issues with Kyle and Marie, as you have just done, that will remain between us.” In other words, he’d only pass on observations to my father.

“I think I can work with that, and if not, I’ll let you know,” I said.

“I did call and tell him you were coming to Malibu with me, and he seemed happy about it,” Stef said.

“I guess that falls into the distant observation category,” I said. “We’ll see how glad he is when I’m there.”

“You are planning to argue with him?” Stef asked.

“Seriously?” I asked. “You think I’m the one who’s been starting our arguments?”

“I did not mean to imply that,” he said uncomfortably. “You just seemed as if you were on a mission to have a conflict with him.”

“I don’t want a conflict with him, I just want him to stay out of my business,” I said, nonplussed by his attitude. But he’d managed to bother me enough that I pretty much kept quiet for the rest of the trip.

The limo pulled up to our house in Malibu and Stef jumped out and quickly walked in, as was his way. He liked to get there first, and he liked to make an entrance. I took my time, pausing to get my backpack from the trunk and to thank the driver for the ride. I walked in and found no one there, which was just fine with me. I tossed my backpack over my shoulder and headed up the stairs to my room, pausing to look out at the beach and evaluate the waves. They looked shitty. I didn’t want to be rude, so I went back downstairs to the kitchen, where Stef, Dad, and Darius were hanging out, eating lunch. I walked over to Rosa and gave her a big hug. “I did not know you were coming home!” she said effusively. “I will make a good dinner tonight.”

“Thanks Rosa. I missed you,” I said. I walked over to the table, pausing to fist bump Darius, then sat down in my chair and started dishing food into my plate. “Hey there,” I said to Dad in a friendly way.

“It’s good to see you,” he said nervously, as if trying to decide if he meant it.

“Most people say that,” I joked, then turned to Darius. “You got plans this afternoon?”

“Not until later,” he said. “Why?”

“Let’s go do something,” I said.

He shrugged. “Eat, and then we’ll go.”

“Cool,” I said. We ate on in silence, with Dad and Stef saying nothing. When we were done, Darius nodded at me, and we went out to his Jeep. He took me to UCLA, and showed me around the campus, and where he’d be living. He’d be in the dorms for one more year; that was part of the deal with him going here. I told him all about the drama with Kyle, Erik, Marie, Noah, and Ferris.

“So you want to know what to do, how to act when school starts?” he asked.

“Yeah.”

“Ignore them,” he said. “Make them come talk to you.”

“You mean just blow them off?” I asked.

“No, ignore them. Blowing them off means you do it on purpose, so people notice. Ignoring them is where you do it so it seems like you really don’t give a shit, and are completely uninterested in them,” he said.

“What if they start spreading shit about me?” I asked.

“Make sure you’ve got enough friends who will believe your version of things. And if you don’t, you have to pretend like what people say means nothing to you. Don’t let them see you sweat,” he instructed.

“Alright,” I said skeptically.

“All that is on the outside,” he said. “Inside, you can be pissed. And you can get your friends to help you diss them, so people think they’re lame. But on the outside, you have to seem like you could give a shit less.”

“Because if I act like I care, they win,” I said.

“That’s right,” Darius said with a smile.

Hmmm...Interesting revelation that Kyle is involved in Marie's scheme. That's too bad but their mal intent must be fairly obvious if Erik, who Will says, "...he’s not the sharpest dude around," feels compelled to approach Will to confirm the lie that Kyle, Ferris and Marie told him. Marie is seeming even less redeemable and exhibiting behavior that is more in character with some of the other notorious CAP bitches. I wonder how she is going to turn it around.

I love Darius' advice, it reminds me of a professor from college who would tell us when we got unconstructive criticism that we needed to appear like ducks in the water and let hurtful comments roll off of us as if they were nothing. It's good advice and depending on one's temperament hard to execute. I wish Will luck  .

Thanks again its so compelling it easy to forget it's a story. :lmao:

This whole situation with Marie is so achingly real that it could have been written directly from case histories of some of the patients I have treated. People who are so caught up in concocting their plots that they lose all perspective on reality. They cease thinking about their actions in the context of individual events and decisions, and instead see everything in relation to its place in the elaborate chain of events they are plotting. In this way, in their mind, the absurd becomes perfectly reasonable. Stef is right to see danger here. When their plots start to unravel, people who are in the frame of mind that Marie is in can take incredibly stupid and even dangerous actions. This type of behavior is tragic in adults, but, doubly so in children. Particularly when as much effort and energy has gone into the whole thing, as is the case with Marie. All the more when the plan is as openly transparent and flimsy as it is here. It is good advice that Darius has given Will. Maybe too good. The last thing that people who are thinking like Marie are prepared for is the possibility that their plots might not work. This makes them extremely ill equipped for when things start falling apart around them. It’s nothing that she could have imagined, but it will not help if (as it looks) all of this shit she has set up explodes in the middle of a major national and family tragedy. Keeping in mind that she is still a child, it’s hard not to have a certain amount of sympathy for Marie, given what is most likely coming (even if she is going to reap what she has sown, it is still a bitter harvest for a teenager).

As a side note, I saw a talk given a few years ago by a friend of the late physicist Richard Feynman. After Feynman told him that he was dying, they got to talking about how depressing the whole situation was. At one point, Feynman said, about dying, that it was at least a bit of a comfort to think of all the lives that he had touched over the years, all the friends he had met along the way, and to realize that little pieces of himself would live on with them. As Will matures it is a fine thing to see that he will be a man like that. The situation with Erik is a perfect example. Even if they never meet again, Erik will keep with him always a warm memory of Will. It is also why, as badly bruised as he may be by the resolution of the whole Marie situation, Will will (finally got a Will will in there!) weather that storm as well.

As always, thank you for continuing to craft this marvelous story. I trust this finds you and yours well.

All the Best,

Jason

That's pretty nasty business setting your cousin up like that. Unfortunately , I don't believe that Marie and Will's relationship will ever recover. Thank you for the quick update. It is a welcome addition to the second day of school !

I am guessing that Kyle got the warts from Ferris, which is how he got pulled into Marie's little drama.

I still think Will's fuse is way to short, especially when it comes to Brad, He is willing to fuck and fall for a guy who broke his nose and all but accused him of giving him an STD, but won't cut his father a break and was even bitchy with Stef who has done as much or more. Will needs a little anger management or something.

Darius' advice to Will was predictable and perhaps even the best advice. However, it won't resolve anything between Will, his cousin Marie or his former friend Noah.

Erik was apparently an interlude with news for Will. And as Will summed him up, not the sharpest person.

It would be nice if Brad made some serious effort to get to a better place in his relationship with his son over dinner.

More please!

Darius's advice is just perfect. Nothing will drive Marie and Ferris crazy more than Will not even paying attention to their plots and intrigue. I just don't understand how anyone in this family could be so disloyal to another member of the family. I am really starting to believe Marie needs massive amounts of therapy and a good military school. It sounds like she needs to learn to plan out her strategy a little better and pick better allies...

I really like how Will handled everything with Erik. I thought the writing for that whole scene was just perfect. I would think because of what Erik told Will that Kyle probably got the warts from Ferris. There have been a couple of other mentions of how much he sleeps around plus we know he is a total bottom so it would make sense that Kyle was sleeping with him...

I have a feeling that JP is going to have to get way more involved in the teen drama than he ever wants to be...

Over the last few stories we have not heard much about Marie. She is about six months older than Will. How could she have turned out like this? I understand how she is upset about Will taking her spotlight., but this has turned into something else, a war within the family. The last and only time this happened was with Jeff Hayes. Even as bad as Jeff's actions were he loved JP, Yes in a twisted. love but it was love. This is not love, it is more than teenage drama, it borders on hate.

Darius' advice to Will was golden. Can Will follow it?

What will happen when JP finds out about this situation? I would not want to be Marie. She is acting like Elizabeth Danfield or ABC. All this is happening as the clock ticks away. As we get closer to the attack on 9 11. Thanks Mark for sharing your talent with us.

A lot has happened in Will's life since he was last in a school setting. It should be interesting to see how he handles the circus of teen angst that fills his high school. Somehow we know Will can turn things around to his advantage.

There will always be people in his life that are jealous and it certainly looks like the green envy monster has taken hold of Marie. She better be prepared to do battle with a superior combatant.

Marie is looking for a nuclear war. Did she forget what Will did to Robbie and Brad? I know Will seems to have grown up a bit but I don't exactly see him taking Darius' advice; it not like him at all. I hope he takes Stef's advice and talks to JP. It's interesting to see how much Will is like Brad, JP and Stef. What an interesting combination that is.

Poor Noah is going to get caught in the middle. He wanted Marie she rejected him and now she's all over him. He also doesn't seem to be the sharpest tool if he doesn't pick on what is going. It appears Marie, Ferris and Kyle are all using Erik and Noah as pawns. Erik doesn't seem to beileve it but it sounds like Noah took it hook line and sinker.

It will be interesting to see how the the drama unfolds in the next couple of chapter's. We are approaching 9/11 and Marie is a ticking time bomb.

Mark you definitely know how to keep things interesting. Great Chapter.

:lmao:

I love your constructive criticism analogy!

I think it's not that Erik is stupid, I think that he's naive, and out of his league with these people. That's why he was taking a direct route, and just asking Will. When he walked out onto that gazebo, I'll bet he was trying to decide if he'd end up kicking Will's ass again or not.

You did a superb job of capturing in words what I've visualized as Marie's issue. She's gotten caught up in the scheme, and the drama of the scheme, and divorced herself from reality.

My personal experience is that people (especially teens) act like idiots (as you've portrayed) when they're really stressed. I think you're right about Will's attitude toward Stef and Brad, to a point. To Will, with all the other things going on in his life, it must seem like they're kicking him when he's down.

You're right about Will not solving the problems with Marie and Ferris, but I think the solution is ultimately in his strategy. If he ignores them, and the thing just fades away, it makes them seem impotent. And it makes their bullshit attempts to hurt Will pretty feeble.

Thanks. I thought the line about Will and Erik being luckier if they'd hooked up with each other at New Year's summed up that whole sequence.

JP's modus operandi in this situation is to stay in the background and to only get involved when he needs to preserve the family. While Marie is most certainly family, he'll let Claire and Jack work on her, because they'd probably resent his interference, unless it gets out of hand. It may be there.

I think Jason nailed it in his review. There are a lot of forces at work here, and Marie is fighting her own version of what Will went through in "Paternity", at least from her perspective. Now I think she's gotten addicted to the drama, and that's why things are completely out of control.

That's an interesting point. Summers are forever when you're young. Going back to school, especially with all this stuff going on, is going to be pretty weird for Will.

I think you're right about Noah, and he's in for some rough times when Marie dumps him. Then again, maybe she'll decide she likes him after all.

Will is very much his own person, so in one sense, it should be easy to ignore them. On the other hand, if he truly feels threatened, that could get scary.

If I remember correctly Marie is out to make life a living hell for Will because she's in love with him. She tells Will that when he is told where she is and that she wants to see him. They wind up fucking after she apologies for the stuff she had caused him. Will seems to be getting some sage advice from Darius about all the drama.

Marie is fine as long as she was the Toast of the Town. She isn't a hardcore drug user, she gets great grades, as far as I know she's never destroyed her parent's wardrobe or their cars....  she's just a high school drama queen.

Noah is very sharp, that is how he got into The Menlo School. But love is blind and the heart wants what it wants.

True, but Brad is the parental unit....

I like to think, since JJ hasn't had a relationship yet, he's kind of just sitting back and laughing at the ridiculous relationship drama of his relatives and being glad he doesn't have to deal with it. LOL
