  1. Mmmm. Tempting. We have a few biggun's round here. lol
  2. They can scare them to death. (i'm joking.. i know you mean hunting.) lol I suppose they could eat them but they'd be wormy and tough.
  3. I get that. I cook for two men, well, three with myself. One is losing weight; the other has high BP and diabetes...so I need to watch carbs, calories and salt. That's fun. LOL I do most of the cooking with help from one person, and the other cleans up. I can't complain too much. We try to do the cook once and eat at least twice thing whenever possible. We shop on the outside of the store...venturing into the centre is not a good thing for many reasons.
  4. i know this feeling all too well ... I hope something sparks the words for you. You and your work deserve to be recognized.
  5. Something should be done about their numbers. There are just way too many of them. Someone here said we should let poor people kill them...That kind of turned my stomach because I can only imagine what they are riddled with. But hey, who cares, right? They're only poor people! Ugh.

    Chapter 1

Thank you. You're right about people and life. I'm not sure about more with Charlie and Eddie, I don't often to sequels, but I also never say never.
  7. This is a terrific story!
  8. You and me both, Sam! You have resurrected an ancient thread!
  9. I looked that up. Here's the answer: Canada geese return to nest where they first learned to fly. Canada geese breeding in southern Canada are not northern geese that stopped migrating, they are the result of the natural increase of populations that were re-introduced or introduced for the first time. The present-day southern landscape provides an abundance of high quality habitat for geese so they have expanded greatly in numbers and distribution. Northern-breeding geese still maintain their historic migratory behaviour nesting in Canada’s sub-arctic regions and wintering in the United States of America (USA).
  10. Carl does an excellent job of writing Charlie's story. I don't want to say too much about this wonderful short piece so as not to give it away, but do read it.

    Chapter 1

Excellent. Not sure why I missed this when it first posted but i wasn't around a lot for a couple of years. This story is excellent. Dementia is a frightening thing for the family but it must be even more so for the sufferer. Thanks for sharing this.
  12. They are grumpy and nasty. And they are protected here, as are seagulls. But we have too many and idiots feed them so they are not inclined to fly away for the winter and end up dying here. Don't feed the animals!
  13. This is very true. It makes a big difference to mental health, I think. I think getting out to walk outdoors makes it even more so.
  14. I haven't seen too many CG this year. There was a flock in the park a couple of weeks ago and we saw 5 flying the other day. They can be scary though...i remember having to walk by them at work sometimes. Yikes.
  15. It's beautiful today. I haven't been out yet but all the windows are open and we'll head out soon for a walk. We go out twice a day now and with pedometers too. Noom again. LOL. I am not losing weight but we all eat better. Michael's sugar is usually 4 or 5 in the mornings. We are not hungry or craving. Both Dan and Michael have lost weight.
  16. As a happily skinny boy, i don't need to work out to maintain my weight (ducks flying tomatoes and toilet paper rolls). Yes, I'm sorry about that. However, since Dan started Noom, I have been drafted into that and am also working out. I now workout with Dan a couple of times a week. He bought weights which I lift (so does he) and I do things like push-up (should be illegal) and squats. Do I feel better? Heck, yeah.
  17. Hope everyone is doing okay. Happy Sunday.

    Chapter 1

Wow, okay. Interesting. Some people want to wait until they marry, which is how Eddie feels in this story. I've seen and read things about these people. And I don't think it's a bad thing. I think it's their choice. In my real life, I had no choice. Maybe this story is me wishing I had.

    Chapter 1

Thanks, my friend. Why? Sex is an issue here. Sometimes, it feels like we have Victorian values when it comes to sex. Of course, the Victorians were always secretly at it, but you didn't talk about it. i live with two other men, one is my legal Husband and the other we consider our husband also. But that sort of thing is frowned upon. It's odd and doesn't fit what's normal in society. Dan is not considered our family, even though he is.

    Chapter 1

Thank's Lee. It was a temptation to lie, but thankfully, he chose honesty.
  21. It is touching, heartbreaking, and full of love, acceptance, and hope. Kenny is a sweet guy who does right by his mom as dementia takes its heartless toll. It is a beautiful story not to be missed.

    Chapter 1

Thanks for reading it, wienerdog. Lol, I think Charlie read the guidebook. And you could be right about his meeting Tom. Tom showed him how things can be, and maybe Charlie recognized that in Eddie. I'm just glad they ended up happy.

    Chapter 1

Thank you very much! Thank you for reading it and your thoughts!

    Chapter 1

Thank you very much, Wayne. Charlie is sort of who i'd liked to have been. Eh, life isn't always as we hope. If we're lucky, we meet good friends and someone to love. xoxo
