  1. In about 40 years when this study says I'll have prostate cancer, we damn sure better have developed a more successful cure.
  2. Back before I knew and understood what it meant to be gay, i would have taken the pill in a heartbeat. Since coming to understand there's really nothing inherently wrong or bad about gay people and accepting myself... i'd be more inclined to invent a drug of the opposite intention to turn all of our society into a homo-love-fest complete with extended sperm bank facilities.
  3. Imaginary.
  4. Well... that is what betapeople are supposed to do I'm currently running vista basic... mostly because i didn't see the point in forking over extra cash and i'm rather glad i didn't. I haven't been blue screened in my memory of working with microsoft OSes but i've repeatedly had vista lock up completely and force a restart which is incredibly annoying. Its also mind boggling how inefficient it seems to be at using my core 2 duo processor. I'll give windows 7 a run when my warranty runs out in another couple years when they've hopefully worked through any kinks in that OS... im pretty sure it violates my warranty if i load a beta-os onto the computer and i don't want to deal with that crap. On the other hand... wiping my drive is becoming appealing since i don't even recognize most the crap on here anymore.
  5. So today I was told i have 30 days to leave my current residence. It seems my landlord has a friend moving here from out of state and as the other friend already living here has known my landlord longer i'm at the bottom of the totem pole and on my way out. Interesting how he didn't bother to inform me of this until AFTER I've paid him this month's rent, which had I known his plans, would have been paid to him weekly until i had a new place to stay. I am not happy about this.
  6. Hey Drewbie! We've had a great time the past couple weeks, do you mind if i snoop through your computer to see if i can find anything that might suggest you're not really who you say you are and possibly just acting that way to get in my pants? >__> <__< Yeah, this permission stuff is a joke. You don't give permission to snoop and people don't ask. They do it either out of sheer curiosity or out of paranoia that you might be doing something that would upset them and uncertainty whether they should yet trust your word if they simply asked you. There's a certain amount of being suspicious that is perfectly healthy, because people do lie and cheat and deceive, but there's also a certain point where between s/os there should be enough trust that its not an issue anymore; if that trust is lost in a long term relationship, then the relationship is in greater danger than what snooping may or may not turn up. If that trust has yet to be established in a relatively new relationship, then there's probably a lot more getting-to-know-you that needs to be done before a committment is made.
  7. I'm on the right, my friend is on the left.
  8. So a good friend flew down to spend new year's with me and so far we have had an excellent time. Yesterday we went to the beach and spent most of the day there, walked through the surf, shared an icecream cone, and watched the sunset. To make a great day even better, this girl took pictures of us together watching the sunset and e-mailed them to me. I'm so happy he came and really enjoying our time together.
  9. I'm not even going to bother anymore. Even when someone agrees to meet (rare enough, everybody's got some excuse) they don't actually show up. I'm not that bad looking. I like to think I have a decent personality, but nobody bothers to actually go out with me. So now I'm not bothering. Just going to do my own thing and quit caring.
  10. Way to beat me to creating the topic graeme... a day early! Happy Birthday Tiger
  11. A few days ago a cute guy i met online asked me out for a date for today. We were supposed to go to the beach. A few hours ago i send him a text message asking me when he wants to meet. The first answer I get back is "when do you want to f**K" and I thought "what the hell, you asked me on a date not to screw" so I messaged him back asking if that was all he was interested in. He responds that he was just checking to make sure thats not what I was interested in. Great... he thinks he has to be deceptive to get the truth - not a good start. He then informs me that he has a friend visiting him from orlando and that he's eating with him. I respond telling him to just let me know when he's ready to go. I follow that up by cleaning my room, taking a shower, going through the extra trouble to shave my nuts cause I mean come on who wants to grab a set of hair balls when they reach down there? So when i'm done cleaning myself up and making sure my room and the kitchen are all presentable i send him a message asking if we'd be meeting soon since I wanted to get to the beach before it gets dark. Two hours later I have no response. Did I really shave my nuts for this?
  12. I'll say this... he's probably deeply hurt by the fact that you made this decision that affects both your lives without giving him much say in it. He probably felt committed to you and is badly torn up over your decision and can't think straight about anything and is himself in a less than perfectly sane emotional state, which is where the comments about wasted time and wanting gifts back are coming from. As Snowy said, you made a decision that you think is best for you given your situation - a decision which you also made on his behalf without his consent which affects him deeply, too - and I'll not say one way or the other that this was good or bad in the long run because that can not be seen - but it has certain consequences for both of you in the meantime. Specifically - You won't be friends for a long while. Emotions are way too strong right now for friends to work. It is best to give each other space, probably for a few months, before trying to be friends again. I'm sorry to hear things are getting so rough for you Joey

    Bicycle Lights

Tonight was my last night at work. It was the last night i would ever have to make that three mile ride through near pitch-black dark. I was going to ride on the far side of SR 70 since the side i normally ride on is having some work done on it in some places. However, yesterday I learned that despite my mom's request to have the 22nd off was not just granted, it was also forgotten and she got scheduled anyway. What this means to me is I have to be up at 8:30 am on wednesday to get the uhaul truck so i can pack all my stuff and move. To accomplish this feat, i knew i was going to need help resetting my sleep cycle, so instead of just riding home on the nearside of the road I crossed it to go into the grocery store and purchase some over the counter sleeping pills. Seems like a fair plan right? I certainly thought so. So I leave the store, get back on my bike and head back home on the far side of the road. The thing is, it is on this stretch of road between the grocery store and the main street through my neighborhood that there is no light to speak of save that from passing cars. The side walk also bends around these huge power poles. It was as i was coming around such a pole that it happened. I had about a half a second to realize what was going to happen and just enough time to call out "Oh Shit!" - the same as the other guy did, before the two of us collided. A couple minutes later, both of us a little shocked at our sudden collision and recovering from this most unfortunate surprise, we made our ways back up on to our legs and looked ourselves over. He mentioned his leg had been cut, but be damned if either of us could see to tell how badly. My hand took a bad hit but as i could still bend all my fingers well enough I knew nothing was broken or too out of place. I also had taken a hit to the jaw and now its so sore I can barely open my mouth without pain. My wrist is also very sore. I have applied a cold compress to the swelling/sore areas and hopefully it won't screw me up so bad that i can't start work on saturday after I move. Similarly, I'm hoping like mad that i can still bear to pack all my stuff into the moving truck. I'd like to point out that this could have all been avoided if that lying witch of a boss my mom has had not lied to her and scheduled her even though she had asked and been approved for having my moving day off, I would be perfectly healthy instead of bleeding from several laceration and it would not be questionable whether I can start work on saturday.
  14. The paige doesn't seem at all interested in the old man - who should have got a clue. A lot of the stuff he asked was just plain creepy.

    No on 8!

From Wikipedia: Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich has released a video in which he emphasizes his support to "defend and protect marriage" and to "overrule the judges" by "vot[ing] yes on Proposition 8."[38] Perhaps that cheating f**K should try defending marriage against himself first? Also: God forbid that judges should use their, you know... judgment to dispense that crazy thing, oh whats it called again? Oh yeah... justice.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR5pUWmFkeQ I watched this and did a great deal of giggling inside and outside.... and... just... awesomeness you gotta see for yourself.
  17. Happy Birthday!

    Moving Out

For ages now I've wanted to move out but earlier this week I made the decision: I'm going to do it. Today I got a call back from someone whose ad I had responded to. He's 37, buying a house, and looking for a room mate. The house is a two bedroom, one bathroom home with big beautiful trees in the yard. We've set up a meeting saturday afternoon to meet and look at the place. He also mentioned he might drop by my restaurant friday evening. Its 500/month with utilities included.... more than i'd like but certainly not too bad. I'm looking forward to moving out of my parents house, thats for sure. One thing that's cool is he's fine with me having a guest over as long as they're not disrespectful.

    Punk Kid - Part Two

Okay... so this woman cares so much about what the bible says and for the moment I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she's familiar with whats in the bible but.... Apparently she doesn't know anything actually about the bible. Then theres the massive logical failure of "it must be true because it says it is" ... and the arrogance of "you're not allowed to respond with your feelings but i'm allowed to base all my opinions on the feelings of a bunch of people from 2000+ years ago and that makes me better than you." This is why I will never, ever go to a church again, its why I view anyone who makes religion a major part of their lives with a cautious suspicion until i know they aren't like this crazy woman, and its why I doubt I'll ever view religion in general with anything other than suspicion for the supersition and utter failure to utilize rational thought processes.
  20. Eh... so the guy wasn't comfortable with making his sexuality a nation-wide issue. How many of you would feel entirely comfortable going before literally millions of people at all much less with the expectation that you're going to have your talent on display and hope you don't screw it up and then on top of that there's all these rumors about you that you know are true but have nothing to do with your talent... I have never watched an episode of American Idol. I have no attatchment to this guy one way or the other. I have done public speaking in the form of debates watched by around 20 members of my team, 20 members of my opponents' team, and a judge whose job is to judge me and of course parents watching to see how I'll do.... I was nervous enough as it was the last thing i needed was to be wondering if the judge was judging me thinking ".... gay." or if all the audience members were watching me thinking "man this guy is so gay" ... especially considering I wasn't out even to myself at the time. If after the debate some local reporter or whatever had come up to me and wanted a quick interview and suddenly instead of asking me about the issue turned around and asked me if I wanted to sex me up a guy... first I would blush so hard you'd think my face was on fire and then I'd run/stumble out of the room and probably not stop until i collapsed in some corner to hide in. Let the guy have some slack. He's got a world of new responsibilities now with his son and among the things he's taken on is to be open and honest about his sexuality - likely in the hopes that with his status as a public figure, by being open about it he'll be helping to create a more tolerant and accepting world for his son. Is it a shock that he's gay? No. Was it probably a bit painful to those of us who are out to watch our 'american idol' deny who he was? Well it must have been for some of you with the way you're reacting, but set that aside and try to remember what its like in the closet when its just your family and maybe your school to worry about knowing, then multiply that number of people concerned with your sexuality by millions. Clay shouldn't be considered tarnishing to our image. He's just a guy. A gay guy, with a lot of talent, who was under far more pressure than most of us could even conceive, and he's doing the best he knows how as he moves along through life. He should be celebrated, not shunned, and there are several in this topic who should be ashamed.
  21. The chest hair can stay... but the facial hair should go. Then I will eat him.
  22. I am ticklish, as my ex delighted in reminding me often
  23. >__> <__< Semantics!
  24. Something else you should think about, would you tell a straight, married couple to never stop using condoms because someday their partner will cheat on them? What does this tell you about your opinion of your fellow gay people that you think those who have been in stable, happy relationships should never even consider trusting each other enough to not use a condom? Now, I'm not suggesting going out and slutting up the nearest bar, but when you're with someone you trust and you've made a mutual, long lasting committment to be emotionally and sexually exclusive, there just isn't anything wrong with not using a condom. Another note: use some judgment in picking that person.
  25. I don't base my whole opinion on the man on this silly little series, no. And I certainly didn't say every one who siezes power does so for noble reasons
