  1. I've created a "Little Darlings" folder too. *Joins fan club* Mostly so I could look back and say, "Wow, I'm so glad I didn't include this in the original chapter, otherwise..." I reread for the sake of continuity and, of course, to drive myself nuts with the endless re-writing I do--I just can't help it! But there are times when I come across a really old story of mine and smile, knowing how far I've gotten. And then I proceed to mock my 16-year-old self.
  2. I too reread previous chapters before writing a new one. But like Graeme said, what works for one writer may not work for another so I guess it's alright to try out different methods until you find what's right for you. I personally despise the rereading portion of my writing sessions as I'd end up editing that piece instead of moving on. Gah! *tugs at hair* Hence my turle/snail/slow-writer's syndrome. But it does help reading the last few lines so you can pick up where you left off and get into writing mode for that particular story. I agree with Tiff about the long hiatus thing. The readers will notice the gap between chapters if the writer isn't careful. Just my two cents.
  3. I'd like to see a change in the story font, because when a story gets uploaded in HTML format it looks as though all the words are in bold making the whole thing difficult to read. Anyways, it's not a big deal, just thought it'd be easier reading with normal text.
  4. "No Air" - Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown
  5. "Someday" - Nickelback I remember this song from when I was 13, the video still makes me go 'oooh'.
  6. "Bleeding Love" - Leona Lewis
  7. "What If God Was One of Us" - Joan Osbourne
  8. "Behind These Hazel Eyes" - Kelly Clarkson
  9. "Away From The Sun" - 3 Doors Down
  10. "I Won't Go Home Without You" by Maroon 5. Adam Levin's voice is sooo sexy.
  11. I tend to do that as well. I look back at my old stuff (from two years ago) and can't help make changes. I'd have to control myself at some point though because if keep doing that it'll stop improving and lose the raw emotions that the original piece once had. Also, I sometimes get discouraged when re-reading anything I've written, wondering if I can still improve or if I've reached my limit. I certainly hope that's not the case.
  12. I totally agree. To be creative a writer has to be be able to let go, otherwise the story just turns into an over-edited, over-scripted piece lacking emotion. And where's the fun in that? I find that when I outline my plot it's important to allow myself to make changes along the way, taking risks which in the long run would prove to be worth it.
  13. Taylor Swift "Teardrops on My Guitar" Sam Phillips "If I Could Write"
  14. First of all, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has read my story and taken time to review the chapters. I really appreciate it. But as much as I'd want to continue writing I'm sorry to inform you that, due to personal reasons, 'In Our Midst' will not be updated until further notice. -Boy In Doubt
  15. Happy Birthdat LittleBuddhaTW!
  16. Cool, how'd you know? The person below me is so annoyed with the straight boy who keeps bugging him/her.
  17. I read the first chapter the other night and I couldn't stop! I really loved the way you portrayed the characters and the writing style is very reader-friendly, which I gotta say is a plus. Oh, Chris's thoughts crack me up, by the way. Hehe! I can totally relate. I mean, the way he thinks...man, he's so real. Great story, dude. Keep it up 'cause we'll be waiting for more chapters.
  18. I read it last night and I think it's good, the way you're writing about a character with low self-esteem and has these thoughts. It's so true because there are teens who go through that. When there's nowhere else to turn and we feel like there's nobody to help us out, we tend to get lost. And yes, sometimes we get manipulated, affected by the things around us (example: Ana). Keep it up, I'll be waiting for chapter 3. -Boy In Doubt
  19. I googled for stories and that led me to Comicality where I found a link to GA. I'm glad I did.
  20. Sort of. The person below me likes cheese.
  21. Happy Birthday, Krista! by the way, I love 'Are You Christian'
  22. Hi, Old Bob! Sorry for the late reply. I didn't realize that someone had posted. Guess I should start checking the thread more often, huh? Thanks so much for reading and I'm really glad you liked it. As for the funny things, hehe, well I like to poke fun at my problems and make a big joke about things (if they're not too painful). I also add pieces of my life in every chapter even though a lot of it is made up. That way I really feel what I'm writing. And yes, I do love Comicality's work, as well as other amazing stories on this site. They really inspire me and I hope to improve on my writing someday 'cause I just love doing it. Thanks again and I hope you had a great Christmas too!
  23. Right now, probably "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day. Hopefully it would change. I walk this lonely road, the only one that I'll ever know Don't know where it goes but it's home to me and I walk alone
  24. Sounds like fun. I'm in!
  25. Oh, I love pizza! The person below me is a Rachael Ray fan.
