  1. Glad to hear it; I thought you might.
  2. @Drew Espinosa I have a story pitch I think you might like. It's loosely inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender, but with more of a Thai/Vietnamese influence. 23-year-old Lamon is fresh from the police academy in the Floating City of the Dragon. His first assigned post: to return to the neighborhood he knew as a child. Seeking out familiar faces, Lamon goes to a well-loved noodle shop in the old neighborhood. Inside, he finds his childhood friend, Boon-Nam, who has assumed ownership of the restaurant following his grandmother's passing. Some thugs are causing problems, and so, as an officer of the law, Lamon is forced to act. Lamon's timely appearance rekindles old feelings Boon-Nam thought he had buried since he was a teen; feelings that Lamon might actually reciprocate. But Lamon's intervention sends ripples through the city's criminal underworld, ripples big enough to swell into a typhoon that could plunge the city into anarchy.
  3. Hahaha, Aaaww! This kid is a real connoisseur of tomato sauce!
  4. You can find merch for just about any fandom you'd care to name.
  5. I was at work. But yes, all is well here, thanks.
  6. Salisbury steak! Yum! Wait, that's the wrong Salisbury. Have you seen these shirts? And there are so many other designs towards the bottom of the page. https://www.redbubble.com/i/t-shirt/Breakfast-by-aliceoseman/97563587.WFLAH
  7. Sounds tasty. I might make that next week.
  8. There's only one place I know that sells taffy year-round in Traverse City, and that's a chain store which also sells soda in glass bottles, and funny vintage signs. They have so many different flavors of soda, 120+ if I remember correctly. Apart from that, there's a seasonal farmer's market store, and The Taffy Barrel in Charlevoix.
  9. @raven1 Hey, Terry! How are you and Aod?
  10. Spikey said "punished", not "locked up".
  11. It should really be "lemon", anyway.
  12. The yellow one is supposed to be banana-flavored.
  13. There's only one flavor of Laffy Taffy that counts, and that's the purple one. (Something I saw on Instagram: you can always spot a cop because they call Gatorade by the stupid flavor names, when everyone else calls Gatorade by its colors.)
  14. No, it was on an advertisement for Amazon's Alexa.
  15. Question: Why did the toothbrush cross the road? Answer: For a change of paste.
  16. That's a nice idea, but Max wants to go to an Arts college with a ballet program. Could be good for a "Plan B", though.

Cute story, Comsie! I'm eager to read the next chapter!
  18. On a happier note, Max got an academic award for a report that he did in science class. We're taking him out to a restaurant of his choosing this weekend. Tonight, though, we had broccoli-cheddar soup for dinner.
  19. The anti-German sentiments were especially bad after WW II started, and my grandmother still remembers some of the prejudice her family received.
  20. I would appreciate it if that word wasn't thrown around so casually. Some of my mother's family emmigrated from Germany after WW I.
  21. Okay. Let's just agree to disagree on the pineapple issue, and put it to bed.
  22. Hey! I like Canadian bacon!
  23. For once, I agree with Drew.
