    Where to start...Well, my name is Page Scrawler, but most folks call me Page or Pagey. I also like watching sunsets, usually while reading a book on the back porch with a blanket and a cup of tea. When I'm not cuddling with my husband or tending to our kids, I'm either baking a book or reading some treats...Wait. I'm either reading a book or baking some treats to share with my family and coworkers. Yeah, there we go. Got it right this time. 😁 When I'm not reading, or busy in the kitchen, I've also managed to empty that desk drawer labeled "Excuses" and filled it with "Stories and Manuscripts" instead. Some of them, I've even managed to publish here on the website. Biting? That's for cookies and cakes, not people, I say.

    My oldest son and his buddy upgraded their relationship status from "best friends" to "boyfriends". They had a picnic lunch at the park today, and they enjoyed themselves immensely. 😊

    Max and Michael had their date today. The weather was threatening to be uncooperative (a bit cloudy and gray), but the great Cod in the sky had mercy and cleared away the clouds, just for a couple of hours.

    Welcome, everyone! Seems we've had to move house yet again. Which is a bit unfortunate, but it had to be done. Val's cheesecakes were growing moldy in that cellar. Apparently the climate-control system failed, and no-one thought to investigate the funny smell. Also, the hot tub never did recover from the debauchery of that party Drew and Spike threw for their respective herds of Thai beefcake. For now, just relax, find a comfy chair, and take in that new paint smell.

    The brownies are currently cooling in the kitchen. The eggs for the devils are also on ice, but we'll wait until tomorrow before assembling them. Also, Max is working on some handwritten notes to include, which was my suggestion. One note says: "This is already my favorite date ever." Another one: "The only thing better than brownies? You" Gaaahh!! It's too cute!

    He's thirteen now. It's amazing how quickly time passes.

    Oh, dear. Well! It seems that Max and his friend Michael had an interesting development while I wasn't looking. Apparently, Max popped the question to Michael and asked if Michael would be his boyfriend. Michael responded by asking for permission to kiss Max, and Max said yes. Yes, yes, they did have an awkward kiss at that one sleepover some time ago. But that was just the result of silly adolescent hormones and too much caffeine. This is the real thing. My son's best friend has been upgraded to "Boyfriend" status. They're now planning their first date: a picnic in the park behind the public library.

    I definitely prefer romance over action films. If my choices were between: 1. The smoldering burn of Jake and Devon in the "Chucky" TV series. (Action/Horror/Comedy) 2. A very sweet film about first love, titled "Young Hearts". There's no question that I would choose the romance film over the campy comedy-thriller, every time! That said, though, there's a startling lack of representation for LGBT kids or teens in fantasy and science fiction novels. That's what I'd like to see added to the shelves!

    I like the idea of "Meatless Monday". I've been implementing it at least two or three times a month. That would never hold water with my father, who has...outdated ideas about how eating meat = masculine. 🤦‍♂️
