Freshwater Boys, by Adam Schiutema. Eleven short stories about boys---some pre-teens, some not-yet men, some full grown---and their lives around the Great Lakes.
I'm sorry, @Ronyx, but let me just say that I don't feel invested in this story as much as some earlier ones. It feels like Apple of Her Eye is missing something, that I don't know how to describe. Suspension of disbelief, maybe? The flow of events just doesn't feel...natural. I'm afraid it's not for me, this time around. I look forward to your next one, though.
I love the new chapter. We haven't had any "face-to-face" scenes with Sam for a while, if my memory serves me. Jimmy...talk about a big fake! He's inventing this whole relationship in his head that never has and never will exist between him and Billy. I especially like Billy's plan to take Brandon to the party and come out to everyone!
I'm somewhat familiar with Jamie Oliver by reputation. I never saw much of him on TV, because my family was turned off by the "rustic" design of his English kitchen.
Okay, I can understand nudism. But why in the world would anyone try cooking without clothes? (I'm kidding, of course. ) But even so, I'd imagine most men would want to keep their goolies covered, especially if something is being deep-fried on the stove.
