Hmmm.....me thinks we need an Irish or Scottish werebear from the old world if we are going to learn anything about the wee fairy folk who dwell in the mounds known as the Tuath Dé. But didn't they promise that any who believed in them would dwell in the land of eternal youth and summer?
Took you long enough to admit I'm right. Someday y'all will learn. I'm always right, I just might not be answering the question you're asking at the time.
I had to keep the animosity between those two because I try to keep my stories based somewhat in reality. There's no alternate universe where I can ever see those two being sweet and sappy.
Though neither one would ever admit to anyone, especially themselves, John and TJ are A LOT alike. As far as long term effects of John's event go, both TJ and Sean have the name of an excellent therapist. It took me awhile to find TJ's voice again, but when I did, he shouted!
Okay, so I used to play a table-top role playing game called Werewolf and my character was a real A-hole. There was a werebear in the group and my right before they would go into battle, my character would look at the werebear and say, "Ok, Werebears stare!"
If you've ever seen the old Carebear cartoons from the 80's then you'll know what I'm talking about
Thanks for reading my story. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm working on Chapter 14 now...Chapter 13 was difficult to write because I couldn't decide if John was going to survive or not. However, I have most of the rest of the story outlined in my head. Kind of. Okay, not really, but I think I know where I want to go lol
I agree and TJ at the beginning would feel the same, but he's trying to be a better person for himself and for Sean. Also TJ tells John he can't stand him, he just doesn't want to see someone his age throw away everything. If John doesn't do everything he can with this chance, it's his own fault.
They need each other to keep the other in check whenever a truth needs to be laid out. I have "friends" who are like that. People I can't really stand most of the time, but we never lie to each other and look out for the other.
Thanks! I try to keep my character and their interactions as real as I can. Whenever there's a conversation, I actually speak it out loud so I can hear what it sounds like lol.

Chapter 13
After leaving Doris’, we decided to spend the night at our house. Jacob had no problem letting Sean and Kevin stay over any weekend night they wanted. Similarly, Robert didn’t object to Josh and me staying at Sean and Kevin’s. I realized something that evening. No matter where we stayed, we always stayed together. Never had Sean and I stayed one place while Kevin and Josh stayed somewhere else. It made me realize this was my family and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
We're doing well...we've been fortunate in that my dad's funeral expenses were reimbursed to us by FEMA (they are paying for the funeral costs of people who died from covid as long as you can prove the cause of death was covid) so that has helped us out a lot. She's still having memory issues so I'm not totally comfortable leaving her alone all day so I'm still not working. Her long-term memory is fine; it's her short-term memory that's giving her problems. She will ask me the same question about three or four times within an hour. When I remind her we've already talked about a topic, she'll start recalling things. So it's not like she's forgetting things, she's just hazy on details and needs her memory jogged.
