Yes Caroline is somewhere on that list but my real problem is with Princess Amelia. Now I know how her demise came about and I know it’s heartless to say but it can’t come soon enough. I just don’t like her, at all lol.
  2. If you aren't reading this. You really should. I'm very picky about my sci-fi, but as this is the author of the Falcon Banner series which I also fell in love with, and I gave it a shot. This is one hell of an adventure through time itself, not in the way we know it, but perhaps in the way it could be. Hugo and Alec are the most unlikely pairing, but they definitely surprised me, one is complex, the other is simple and they balance each other out in a way that makes me jealous. Read this story as they learn not only about what they themselves are capable of, but of how time itself can be a strange yet fickle companion.
  3. This story is the first of a new series, that is a continuation from an older series. Carter's Breach in itself is a fast paced spy thriller with a well thought out and intriguing plot that'll have you burning through the chapters as you weave in and out through the subterfuge, in the classic battle to save the world. If you've read any of the previous books from the Carter series you'll be slapped in the face from the nostalia of those memories as previous characters reprise their roles that made those stories great. You'll also continue to feel the aching love that Andrew and Will Carter started to build way back in Carter's Army. It has been a while since we've seen these characters in action, and this book does their story justice as it continues the lives of the characters we remember. Awesome job Topher.

Sigh... Such a beautiful end to a very well done story, and a wonderful continuation of a beloved series that stands against the test of time.

It is and I definitely have a list of characters I wouldn't mind seeing meeting a quick painful end lol.

Alright I'm all caught up, it only took 6 days to get from book 1 to here. This series has been an amazing look into a decade of ones life amidst history.

    Chapter 1

I knew it from the title as I saw it in the list I made little fan boy screams it was terrible.
  9. Yeah that line is pretty much the title of the story.

    Chapter 1

Now that the cat is out of the bag, I can finally say.... Thank you. All of you. For your comments, for your reviews, recommendations, for all of it. This story wrapped up faster than I would have liked, I'd actually been sitting on it for a while. But this was actually born from a very vivid dream I had and almost turned into something else entirely, but I needed something for the event, and I couldn't drag it out. The dream itself was crazy, I guess last year I had been thinking a lot about a missed opportunity I encountered when I was still in school, and I guess it had worked it's way into me to a point where I just saw all of it in the dream. I'll admit, I've got a bit of a fanboy crush on a lot of you that commented because your works have been around for a very long time and I've spent most of my adult life weaving in and out of everything you guys have written over the years So to have you comment both good and bad as been awesome for me, it's definitely reinforced my confidence to continue. So again, thank you!

  12. That's seriously high praise to a writer. It's also invaluable feedback that I'm doing it correctly, which i thank you for.
  13. I do have the voicemail typed up and you will get to hear it (well read it) towards the end. This story was only ever meant to have like 7 chapters so we're almost there.
  14. Thanks mate, it's appreciated.

    Chapter 34

And here's Andrew. Hot shot hockey player, delivering the final slap shots of the game. Game goes to the Acheron.
  16. Time didn’t stop after the hospital, it just got quieter. Quieter, but not easier. Mom stayed in the city longer than I expected. Long enough to set things in motion. She got me into a therapist, found an AA group that met three times a week, and kept my fridge full. I didn’t argue. I didn’t have it in me to resist her anymore, not after everything. Therapy was… hard. Every time I walked into that office, I felt like I was stripping off skin. My therapist was nice, soft-spoken, patient

    Chapter 12

Yep and you’ll have it. So far it’s a good morning (working) actually a half decent sunrise too.

    Chapter 8

Yep that's pretty much it. It was just the way we were raised, and you wouldn't believe how grateful I am for those lessons because despite what happened in my later teens, being respectful to the individual, and basic manners always stuck with me. Social graces with younger generations isn't as strong (and practically non-existent) with the younger generations but sometimes they surprise me when I encounter it lol.

    Chapter 8

Colt's attitude is definitely debatable. I'm not sure about high expectations, it sounds like Trace and Celia raised him with pretty much the same rules I had, don't embarrass yourself, don't embarrass the family, and manners matter. But I could be wrong, could be projecting the family dynamic I'm most familiar with. I get the box incident, I would have gotten in trouble too and not really for not helping but for being rude while not helping. There is a difference among some American nuclear families, especially the older rural ones. My dad would have shrugged off not helping, but being insolent in public, not so much. I think Colt's biggest thing right now is he just doesn't understand. This whole thing came out of nowhere and he probably hasn't been offered a real explanation and he could feel that he's being constrained with this new dynamic. He doesn't want to be a babysitter even though Joel clearly doesn't need one, but he also probably feels that he makes his friends on his own terms, and doesn't like the idea of being pressured to even like Joel just because they're living in the same house. Again I could be wrong. To explain my original comment though, I guess I'm surprised that Colt is so vocal about his displeasure. That's one thing we never would have done, openly air the displeasure. That was saved for private conversations, and it comes back to the first two rules; don't embarrass yourself, don't embarrass the family. That's my two cents on it anyway.

    Chapter 8

Or at least do a better job of hiding it. Colt's attitude is one I don't understand either, given the nature of his parents, it doesn't appear that he's spoiled or anything. But then he could just be a grouchy teenager who likes to drink who knows. That is totally a thing and it's something that'll stick with em until he feels secure again. I went through it I was jumpy until I was able to feel safe again which took a while. Also great job Krista, it was good to see Joel taking some initiative. Yeah please post the smaller chapter on monday it feels like I had to wait a month and a half for this one lmao

    Chapter 33

So close to the end. I can taste the adrenaline already. Doctor Reed sounds like she's got some dirt she wants to spill hopefully about Sinclair. It'd be great to see him get his before the books over.
  23. Elijah actually gets really good at demon chasing. lol

    Chapter 11

They remind me of Will and Andrew in that aspect, so I sense you are correct.
