I agree, Adam does look for the good in people rather than the bad. Hopefully that tendency won't come back and bite him. Mind you, it does seem that trouble tends to follow the pair around!

Birthday spankings appear to be an American tradition. Glad you enjoyed the chapter. Nice to have one without traumas for a change. Who knows if ma will read the letter? I suspect she will in the hope that Adam may have written something that she could use against him.

It has slowed down though 😀 I suspect most would have burnt it, but Adam isn't most. I suspect his thinking is that if ever he feels down now he only needs to look at it to recall how good they really are.

Troy likes finding little surprises for his Adam. Adam feels for Kyle on the basis of 'there but for Troy and his parents' go I. Plus the thought of what is probably going to happen to him in jail. The 'new' Adam was good, wasn't he?😁

Nah, Mike would enjoy that 😛 Funerals aren't usually the place for scenes, but I guess Adam won't be welcomed with open arms by the congregation.

He wants to go, but he's going to need to be very strong to do so as he will be on his own. However, he needs to prove to his mother that he has the strength to be there. No doubt there once was love, but it has long since vanished.

Adam has a very forgiving nature. He'd like to believe his father did have some feelings for him and he hopes that his mother can meet him part way. However, can she or have her views become too bigoted toward her son?

Funny how your views can change! Adam's life sure has changed since that day, but then so has Troy's. For both it has taken on a new dimension.

Let's hope your faith in the author is not misplaced! It does seem though that their love and trust is something that cannot be easily broken.

Families can be a good or bad influence it's true. I'm sure the boys are hoping for some happy times now.

It is a testing situation but one that has pulled the 'family' together. A trial would definitely be an ordeal, so hopefully a plea deal can be reached.

Hopefully their feelings for each other are deep enough to overcome what has happened, but doubts can creep in.

You've still got a fair number of chapters to go. And yes, I do share your feeling about wanting to read 'completed' stories. Adam had a moment of doubt but based on his background it was understandable. Luckily he now has a 'parent' who will talk to him.

Adam is evidently now feeling confident enough in his new surrounding and relationships to feel he can take the lead - and Troy is evidently happy to see him doing so. Glad you're enjoying the story.

Good point about not reporting. On the face of things it would be the logical thing to do, but kids aren't always logical in their actions.
