Probably related to the inactive account removals still going on. (accounts with 0 posts and no visits since before 2020 are being removed, especially if they have not subscribed to our newsletter.) We can only remove a few hundred accounts at a time without crashing the server and only in the mornings when the site is less busy.
Thanks Comsie! This provides another tool in the toolkit of writing. This ties in very nicely to a book I just picked up on developing characters. It helps me to see many different viewpoints and approachs on this.
Oddly enough, this is a game I keep coming back to. Unfortunately, while it does have a fun gameplay loop, it has just a bit too much stuff that can get grindy and annoying. I really hate timed event challenges and it has a fair few.
@Daddydavek, indeed he was. I really only saw him in The Towering Inferno, which was full of the celebrities of the day. I was into disaster movies a lot when I was younger.
The reputation database table became corrupted and the site crashed while trying to repair it automatically. I shut off the site so the database would stop getting pounded on which allowed me to repair it manually. It is possible that a small amount of data was lost. I could force a recount... but doing so would likely significantly drop counts due to the cleaning of the database, which people get touchy about.
