  1. Thank you, A. Your comment means a lot.
  2. Thank you for your encouragement and empathy, Reader.
  3. It was equally therapeutic for me. Although my father passed many, many years ago, the emotions are still present. Thanks for taking the journey with me, tim.
  4. Thank you, molly, that means a lot.
  5. It's unfortunate that you can relate to this poem, jp... but good that the words bring a connection. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it.
  6. Memories of distant events Too far gone now to relive Still haunt the archives of innocence lost Memories filed away in cabinets locked Yet your specter ever tarries My tears, never enough to move you Father-figure was an unknown phrase Only thought about in childhood dreams Your absence was a blessing and a curse You taught me what not to be Lessons never to be forgotten In sp
  7. I admit to not knowing a whole lot about diabetes. Prior to chatting with some of you on GA, I wasn't exposed to the facts, and I appreciate the learning. All of the food talk you engage in is funny at times, but I've learned a lot about choosing healthier options, and that's a positive point.

    Weakened Bones

Just brilliant, tim. At first read, I was inspired to jot down my own poem. Thank you for that inspiration. Nature and emotion often go hand-in-hand - one can be used to describe the other - and you illustrate that connection beautifully here. It doesn't matter that the content wasn't from your personal experience (thankfully not); it contains subject matter that anyone can relate to and feel. Really good.

    Frozen

Through a veil of ice, I catch glimpses of you. Who is watching whom...? It matters not. For it is only the veil, The snow, The frozen sea which separates us. Surely, we can cross the distance On sharpened blades of hope.
  10. With decisive hand and determined heart I shepherd you to hands and knees The space between us diminishes, fades And I bind you in a position of compliance. i watch the rope looped through Your fingers Each knot, keeps me safe and frees me i let go of my fear and control, trusting You, To bend me to Your will, but never break me Cinching the ropes across your skin I seize your attention, with words and potent sensations Deliber

    Ebb and Flow

Hello, ColumbusGuy. Awesome that you picked up this story on a recommendation. I assure you that this story is continuing, albeit slowly right now. I had the next chapter all lined-up but couldn't find satisfaction in it and ended up scrapping much of it to head in a different direction. So, it is still 'in progress'. And my muse prompts me to continue on, so continue on, I shall. Thanks for reading and reaching out with your comment. I appreciate it! Cheers - Mac

Poetic ability is not a requirement, more of a willingness to let thoughts freely flow.

Thank you, Parker. As I mentioned to AC, the unity of the message was unexpected. Kind of magical, really.

Freerider, you've brought up a very good point here, thank you. There may be some validity to your theory, however I would need to experiment more. Care to do one with me?

Thanks, Def. There will be more... different exercises, different outcomes. I fear we've made a tough act to follow here, lol.

You read it four times? I'm humbled. Thanks, A. There will be more at some point.

You're very kind, Reader, thank you. It was an interesting exercise that could have resulted in any number of possibilities - good, bad and everything in between. We'll see how the next one turns out.

Thank you, molly. It's a good outcome, considering we didn't discuss the subject matter beforehand.

We couldn't predict how this would turn out, and I'm pleased it turned out so powerful. The next one, and the next one, might not be so cohesive, but the unknown factor makes it all the more interesting. No editing, no second-guessing. Thanks for your willingness to give this a try, tim.

It is impossible to see beyond the mire, Those barriers of judgement, When your mind is full of derisive chatter And anger is all you spew Tension fills you, your mind's distracted Your inner peace becomes a fatality The friction you suffer while Undoing tangled threads of regret Only adds calluses to your habitual scars With a blade you try and scrape away The unsightly and the ugly
