Like pinching oneself to ensure something is real. A great poem.

For dughlas and Thief of Words

Great poem for a great friend on his birthday. The second poem drips with disdain and packs a hard punch. I hope whoever it's intended for, reads it. -
I know you have, boy. I've witnessed the change, and I'm pleased by it. you still stumble sometimes, but, now, you know to go to Mike when that happens.
-
I'm also pleased to see that there was no disrespect shown in the chat. Because there certainly could have been...

I think the strongest point of this glimpse into a tim and molly chat session - and what readers can most gain from it - is a glimpse of sub-life spoken truthfully through the eyes of subs who live it 24/7 in their respective relationships. Each finds fulfillment in their arrangements and agree that they would not want their Lifestyles to be any different, even when moments of discipline from their Doms are necessary. They see personal value in the guidance. And, most importantly, love is shown to their Doms and to one another. It is considerably touching to me.

Another year sneaks up Slips by like the wind – Twelve months gone by And I fear I never lived, Twelve months gone by And I crumple and discard each one Like torn pieces of holiday paper Removed from shiny, empty promises, Now forgotten Now becoming another layer Of the waste we collect and endure. Create a new path, Start a new journey, Make shit happen! This I insist As I stand amongst the ruins Clutc

@Mikiesboy, I acknowledge today, as I did last night, that your anger was not intentionally directed at me. I just happened to be the recipient of your disrespect at the moment you "saw red." Something for you to work on, yes, stay mindful - but right now I hold no bad feelings about it. -
Thank you, Tim. We all are only human, and forgiveness can be hard to give and to accept. I appreciate you reading and commenting!

An excellent read, from beginning to end, full of historical meaning, well-crafted characters, and a shivering description of another part of the world. I commend your ability to tell this tale so perfectly in such short order. Great job, Geron.

I'm sorry you've gone through this. I hope you're able to reach a balance that works. Best to you in the coming year.

Very sweet story, Parker, and as expertly crafted/written as all of your stories and poems are.

Great story, Ivric. You took the prompt and expounded on it in unexpected ways. I'm not a reader of romance, but I can appreciate the emotions in this. It is possible for the heart to love more than one person, and you portrayed that beautifully here.

I'm not sorry I stole your prompt, Jay. And you did a great job with this one, so we should be copacetic all around.

We Feign Nothing - A look at the BDSM lifestyle.

Through the years I’ve had so many people ask: “When did you know you were a Dom?” and it’s a question I cringe at, because there is no brief answer. Like you, Mike, I didn’t wake up one morning and decide to be one. There was a natural progression, subs gravitated to me, and I to them, and we all just understood the dynamics. It’s intuitive on both sides. That’s how I explain it. I don’t play games, this is my lifestyle, like many here, 24/7. Someone who only plays at being submissive, or who can turn the role on and off like a switch, isn’t a person I would personally choose to be around. I respect that there are people who enjoy role-playing and experimenting with BDSM, and I encourage that if it’s what they’re into. But in no way, shape or form is that D/s Life. Like I commented earlier, if someone is only feigning subservience, or playing a role with me, I will not go any further with him –unless I’m in the mood for a quick romp, or if I genuinely sense potential for future cultivation (i.e. some “experimenting” subs may not know or understand that they have the propensity to be true subs until a Dom guides them there.) For me and many Doms, it’s not just about physical play-time – it’s the shared psychology: control/submission, leadership/subservience, trust-building/acceptance, boundary-testing/subspace, pain-infliction/pain-receiving – all administered through structured practices of guidance and discipline that are continually honed. If there is any “gift” to submission, it’s putting your collar on a someone who has proven complete subservience to you – physically, psychologically, emotionally – and I can assure you those connections are not commonplace. Some of you have heard this all before. Others maybe can glean a point or two. One could write an entire book about D/s and still not capture it all. -

Thank you for taking the time to write this, Mike. Who the hell wrote that ridiculous article? Someone without a single clue. If a sub feigns submissiveness, he won't get past my front door. I have much more to say to this but must attend to work right now. Let's keep the discussion going. -
The TV was special, all right. No illegal porn channels... but something much more gratifying in the long run. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, northie, I appreciate it!

Thank you, Mike. I'm not sure how "Christmas" it is - not too warm and fuzzy - but not all stories are meant to be that, right? Besides, there was a gift in it - the gift of absolution. I appreciate your comments, my friend.

Ivric, you said it best: especially the mistakes that have scarred us the deepest. So true. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. Cheers - Mac

Thank you so much, bramonj.

Hatred and self-hatred are negative and extremely difficult to get away from when guilt, depression and substance abuse are involved. This was a sort of "divine intervention". Thanks much for your comments, Puppi. It means a lot.

Thank you very much, Dolores.

Val, you've always been supportive of my writing, and I appreciate it. Forgiveness is one of the most powerful gifts we can give - to others and to ourselves. I'm so glad you liked this story (Kleenex and all). Cheers - Mac
