Drop In Centre Fav Recipes
spyke replied to Mikiesboy's topic in Mikiesboy's Drop in Centre's Topics
My go to recipe for lamb chops. Easy, fool proof, and delicious every time. And yes, I use Aldi lamb chops, so they are affordable. https://www.delishdlites.com/type/gluten-free-recipes/perfect-grilled-lamb-loin-chops-recipe/ -
I can be there in 36 hours. That will give you plenty of time to shop for supper. LOL

I'm so happy that you're putting your self first!. This getting older really sucks bigly, so do what you need to do to get healthy. We don't realize how interconnected things are (the hip bone connected to the thigh bone, the thigh bone connected to the knee bone) until you have something go awry, and you then realize that your other side is messed up from the unconscious compensating that you've been doing. You've got our support!

He didn't get any bacon for breakfast while you all feasted. What part of KETO diet do you not understand? 🤣

Fingers and toes crossed for you that your treatment is a total success!

[Memory, Junior Year, October] – That Time When You Needed Me
spyke commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in [Memory, Junior Year, October] – That Time When You Needed Me
But for saying "I love you" to Lyn, Alexander laid it all on the table while still leaving an out to deny it because of his sickness. Children. All of them.- 36 comments

You've forgotten who we are talking about here. Remember, he's the one who would always escape from the korner, run amok, terrorize the neighborhood, and then show up the next day acting all innocent. A calculator would present no challenge. LOL
-
⭐⭐ Two gold stars for your excellent math skills or proficient use of a calculator! LOL

Doctors are always surprised to learn about what really goes on in their front office. It's a shame that they don't take more interest in that and that we the patients have to inform them of the antics of their staff.

I've missed your presence and humor Mr. Gray.

This is why I keep a pair of cheap readers in almost every room of my house. Somehow, they keep getting lost on the top of my head. 🤣 This getting older sucks. Bigly.

[Memory, Senior Year, April] – Secrets Between Us
spyke commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in [Memory, Senior Year, April] – Secrets Between Us
You two nailed it. It's almost like Brad is trying to play matchmaker, but he's pissed off because Alexander isn't jumping in and telling Lyn how he really feels, but he is also mad because he wants a blowie from Lyn but can't cross that bridge unless Alexander makes his feelings known and Lyn rejects Alexander. I'm off for some Tylenol and a glass of wine.- 30 comments

Many of us call it "Old Christmas" in my neck of the woods. Years ago a friend of mine was expecting her first baby after years of trying with no success. I told her that it would be great if he turned out to be a Christmas baby. She giggled and said "absolutely not!" Anyways, he was born on Jan 7th and when I next saw her I congratulated her and said "well you got a Christmas baby." She said, "you better go back to school and learn how to read a calendar, Christmas was last month." I just started laughing and said "Old Christmas." The look on her face was priceless!

Hope Michael gets better soon. Yes, he's adorable and he needs a little scarf to keep his neck warm. It's chilly out there!

Merry Christmas to all of the wonderful folks here at the DIC. My wish for everyone is that Santa brings gifts that cannot be measured by monetary values, but those that are priceless and remain timeless and cherished forever. Light the fire, lay out the cookies and milk, hug your loved ones, drink some hot cocoa, go to bed early, and may you dream the sweetest of dreams.

You don't. Arrive when you do to the doctor's appointment. Any tardiness that may happen, your husband can explain to the doctor, and/or he can suffer the consequences with the "covering" doc. He's a grown a** man and this is all his fault. You're just the Uber driver. Please don't get me wrong here. I hate that he's had to go through amputations. Diabetes sucks bigly. But at some point you have to exhale and realize that you can't fight this battle for him. I speak from experience because my ex husband was a diabetic. I spent countless hours riding the benches in ER's and doctor's offices, and pulling him back from the brink of death at home only to have him disregard their medical advice to do what he needed to do in order to stay healthy. You're in my thoughts Kitt. Please take care of yourself.

Also, the caregiver (you) needs to employ some self care as well. Care giving is exhausting, and you need a break from it. That hour or so away from the situation is time well deserved. Take advantage of anyone or any organization that can offer respite care so that you don't wear yourself down.

Face Time or Zoom. He can see it from downstairs. LOL

50 F, 78% humidity. Tomorrow, rain. Tomorrow night, 20 F. Monday morning 19F. FML. Sometimes living in the South sucks. LOL

I'm furious for you just reading this. Every home health care agency that I've dealt with had a regular schedule for visits, you knew that schedule in advance, and they kept to that schedule. I fully understood that it was an arrival window because delays can happen, but nothing like what you've experienced. And the arrival window was never "sometime on Friday." Is there anyway you can get a different agency or are you stuck with these people? I hate that you and your husband are having to go through this, Kitt. You know that we're all here for when you need to yell, vent, or cry.

When one reaches a certain age, we must embrace the "early bird special." In case you're not familiar with that term, you arrive at 4 p.m., you're eating by 5: 15 at the latest, and then you have them out the door by 9 p.m. Any questions? Lol
