Yeah, I'm like that as well.. with former boyfriends.. way better as friends than when I was dating them. Although only one turned out to be Gay.. lol. But Jenny is an important character in the story and for what I have planned. I'm glad people like Jenny, I was afraid people wouldn't and her importance in the story would start throwing people off.

Yeah - didn't want to get too deep into the abuse/social services thing. I have better twists planned, I believe.

Yeah! Writing a Dog into the picture though is actually harder than it looks.. lol. She can be easily forgotten or taking up unnecessary spots in the plot at times. But she so far is adding to the story, so I don't mind as much. Love that you like the story so far. I hope to add some of my bigger plot plans sometime or another. The story still seems to be moving slow, we'll see.

Oh thanks for reading! I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

Thanks for reading... and rereading! lol. Yes, all the crap has to hit something doesn't it? I hope have a few cure balls left in the bag though.

After the debate involving gay rights, with players coming out in support of equal rights and against it. There has been talk, after the retired NFL player came out of the closet, that four more ACTIVE players are planning to come out. Proponents say that it is a "selfish" self-serving act on their part. But there have been coaches and players come out in support, saying that they wouldn't mind coaching, drafting, and playing with players that are gay. They say the four players are communicating with one another and will try to come out together so all the pressure and the back lash wouldn't be on just one person, but a supportive group. Now I know there are more than just four guys that are gay in the NFL, so maybe that number will grow in the coming weeks. I do support the decision - it will show gay youth that more is possible and that there isn't a certain mold that homosexuality creates. Also, if these players do come out they become role models - and hopefully lasting and good role models. They transition the sport from homophobic, locker room trash talking, into a more suitable place for people OR I hope more players begin to behave themselves in the locker rooms and on the field and the like. That slinging the word "faggot" and "fairy" and stuff around isn't the most appealing thing to do. It may also show the groups of people that still think that homosexuality means that men are effeminate and that women are masculine. Make them take a step back and question what it all means. Either way it will open a lot of eyes. On a lighter note: Wanna take guesses/hopes on who it is? As long as Joe Flacco and Aaron Rogers still qualify for my second husband list, I'll be fine.

Kentucky schools are back to back champions - too bad this year the celebrations will be in red instead of blue... Better luck next year Michigan, I hope he is able to keep the team intact, they'd be the team to beat next year for sure.

What did the REDS do to them CARDINALS? Huh.. I think they put up a crap ton of offense... slapped y'all silly.

Thanks for reading and enjoying the story so far. It is a fun story to write so far. What I planned for it gets pretty interesting, so I'm glad the last 19 chapters have been fun to read for you.

Lol! I hope so too Benji! I'm glad you're sticking with me.

SIS 19 The next morning Dad woke me by banging on the door. I groaned rolling over just as he came in. The boxes containing most of my things were taped and in the corner of the room. When I looked up at him he already had his arms crossed over his chest. It was his coaching stance, he always thought it was intimidating and it probably would be if I wasn’t so used to it and too angry with him to care. “Get your lazy ass up,” he said and I sat up on the edge of the bed. “Good

Louisville women are in the title game too!
-
Ok, I've confused myself.. did Syracuse win? I didn't want them to.. if they didn't win then.. the Krista jinx is real and all of you are in a world of punishment.. hahahaa

Oh and the women's final four is: Louisville, California, Connecticut, and Notre Dame.. University of Louisville is loaded in a lot of sports right now, it's kind of scary.. lol. Football they are rebuilding, but did well. Basketball Men and Women team both in the final four, the Men in the Finals. Their baseball team is ranked 14th in the nation. They have a distinct advantage though, they have the biggest revenue out of all of college basketball - thanks in part by the YUM! brands and the YUM! Center.

Louisville's comeback win was nice, but why did it have to be against Wichita State? But.... LETS go Syracuse...

Yayy! Thanks Steve (Wildone) - The Editor that puts up with me, but never really has to work, since I don't write much. A.j. Beta Reader - Added to my writing team, but hasn't been put to work yet. Bee for any Poetry concerns I have - if I wrote more poetry, I'd bother you more with them. Lisa - Although not an official team member she reads, reads, and reads and gives great feedback and asks questions about plot points that are kind of sketchy. And readers as well. Myr and the gang of Administrators and Moderators.. keeping us all in line and the site from crash and burning probably is a headache and a half.. and these people are the nutty volunteers for the most part.

To Fanfiction or not Fanfiction: That is the question
Krista replied to Lily Velden's topic in The Lounge
Very nice post really. FanFiction can be a nice tool for people who want to write, but haven't much in the their past. To see what sort of style they can create or multiple styles. Fanfictions are based on a character or plot, but not copied, but bits and pieces are used to, like you said, flesh out their own story. Not all new authors can flesh out a setting or character in a way that most "seasoned" writers can. So when a plot or bits of a character is taken, molded/reshaped then the author can learn from that and apply it to their original fiction, same with the setting. I have a Twilight Fanfiction posted here - I don't think it's all that good right now, but that's because I didn't know what in the world I was doing with it. I just started it for giggles and because I was so disappointed in how the Saga ended, that I just wanted to write my own character in a world that just happens to be some what what Steph. Meyers thought up. I'm not the only one, of course, there are probably millions of stories out there that would qualify as fanfictions or even started out and were changed. As you call it, pulled from and then edited to be original. I don't condemn doing that either. The Author wrote the fanfiction so it is their work - as long as it doesn't copy full parts of the original work it is based on - then manipulated it to what is deemed 'original' characters and plot. It is still and has always been their work. Do I think people should make money off a Fanfiction, no, I don't. Unless they edit and change names, setting, and such to become original. Fanfiction can also be fun, like I said earlier in the post. Sometimes it is just fun to think what a character will do in this situation or that. If their world was changed. Hell.. after reading The Hunger Games, I wanted to write a Fanfiction about forbidden love between one of the "Career" tributes and one of the outlying districts 8, 9, or 10, since we didn't really get a lot of characterization or knowledge about those districts. Then try to manipulate the story into Katniss and Peeta being the villains.. to see if I could sway readers of the Hunger Games to maybe feel for my characters, which would have either been completely disliked like the 'Careers' or completely unknown like the districts that weren't all that mentioned. Original idea, but unoriginal and borrowed aspects of the world Suzanne Collins created. One of my favorite Authors - well probably my favorite - is Cassandra Clare. She started off writing Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy slash fiction. When she got a ton of good reviews and people saying that she is "good enough" to become a "published" author, she decided to give it a go. But she did so by transitioning her fanfiction from H.Potter/D.Malfoy to an Urban Fantasy Modern story about Shadow Hunters. Some of her first chapters are probably recognizable to those that followed her Slash. I can see it, but wouldn't know that she did pull from her fanfiction to write City of Bones - until I researched her and people were being critical of her doing so. She also gets some flack for posting snippets of her favorite poetry and novels into her writing, mostly as a recitation that her characters are doing, because they like the books/poetry too. She does document the author and book/poetry that she used in her stories, so I see it as a form of flattery, that something another person has written has moved her enough to not only remember it, but to use it. But back to my point, I didn't see what all the fuss was about. She wrote an original story, but with borrowed bits from J.K Rowling's characters and settings. Then she edited the crap out of her work to make it original and published it and made money. She has become a world wide best selling author. She has written, Nine fiction novels, has a few stories in Anthologies. Is Co-authoring a series and is planning three more novels on top of the series she is co-authoring. What I want to say is - We all get our start somewhere - and our true goal is what you said.. To read and to write a good story. -
I like these ask the Author questions/answer sessions. Lets people know that we authors are approachable and aren't scary monsters that are going to eat your fingers for asking a question. Although, I'd still keep them a safe distance away from some of us, never know. *shrugs* Oh.. and a side note, all the authors next time start with a C. I want to scream conspiracy, the Goat definitely has been sket... cliffy.
