  1. Some of it is likely true homophobia, but there is still a good possibility that the locker room banter could just be for shits and giggles. Still it likely doesn't make gay people feel comfortable in the locker room hearing all of the negativity. Some of them probably would be blatantly against a gay teammate and would still say those things, but there has to be a flip-side to that as well. Some of them would likely stop saying it.. or at least make it known that it is for laughs and the like.
  2. I remember staying up all night reading a Dom story... then had to drag my ass to school (high school). I would have totally skipped, but it was during basketball season and if you didn't go to school you were benched.. lol.. I was deeeaaaddd tired though.
  3. I don't think the question was... sexually. People of any sexuality can look at people and determine which are more aesthetically pleasing. I believe the social norms have women trying harder to be more aesthetically pleasing. We shave our legs, our underarms, some of us shave our arms. We groom our eyebrows, we don't have to shave our faces. Most of us don't experience extreme balding. We wear make-up to hide our flaws and exaggerate our better features. We have made ourselves more aesthetically pleasing to people in general, because it was expected throughout history. We were supposed to be pieces of art for our husbands to enjoy and to show off to everyone else... Now.. not so much, but since women tend to have better grooming habits, we are still more aesthetically pleasing. So it's changing, men are grooming more, taking better care of their bodies, skin, and aren't afraid to do more to themselves. So I think the gap is changing.
  4. I've done it... Behave yourself and don't make it a habit.. You were reading my story.. so with my posting habits you could be graduated before I post a new chapter... hahaha.
  5. The method is a bit abrasive yes, but at least he is on our side of the fence.. and not the other... He's still a minority within the sport industry... most of them either advocate for gay rights or come out of the closet when they are old and have been out of the public eye for a really long time. He is doing this while he is at the top of his game, still young enough to be in the public eye out on the field still participating... it's a difference that I like.
  6. Well no.. and I'm thinking Chris Kluwe is the minority. He's not openly gay, he's a straight man arguing for gay rights issues. He's taking chances that a lot of people in his position wouldn't take. It's a start, maybe more will voice it. Also, I read there is a young wrestler that came out of the closet and is trying to cause awareness about locker room homophobia, they say it is a really bad issue... which I can imagine... the word 'gay' and 'fag' gets thrown around way too easily.
  7. Hang in there Robert. You are a fantastic man.
  8. Welcome to GA. Lol.. what do you mean by sketchy?
  9. Well.. he's a punter.. and they only get paid the big bucks if they are the best in the league.. so he has to have a fall back plan... lol.. A good education..
  10. Recently there has been a heated discussion between two players on the same team. The straight punter Chris Kluwe for the Vikings has came out publicly and politically in favor of Gay Marriage. He's also pictured in Out.com with a colorful and politically charged piece about a letter he recently sent to a Maryland politician about his views on Gay Marriage. Not going to post the link, you can find it easily enough with the information I gave you, but the pictures of him are delicious...
  11. There isn't much drama in college football either.. Alabama will win the BCS. But.. since my beloved Reds hit the shitter early, I've not been a fan of Baseball Post Season.. especially since the St. Louis Cardinals finally got their head out of their asses and are marching towards another unsettling upset through the NL on to the World Series.
  12. I've just got two... Cheeky Nadian. --- Yes Steve, I'm talking about you.

    Chapter 17

Thankies Ryan. Hopefully it won't be a long wait...
  14. Relatability and Consistency is key. You have to give them enough human qualities that the reader/viewer can see the humanity within them so they can relate to them. It also makes them believable. Consistency! Don't keep adding or taking away from the character's ability(ies). Consistency is important throughout a lot of other genres, but in Fantasy/Super Hero stuff writers have the tendency to surprise readers with a new power or a new ability or a new hindrance to fit their plot instead of keeping the character within their primary mold. If you create a weakness.. don't take it away. If you create a power that goes one way... keep it going that way. Mind reading/Future telling seems to be the one most writers struggle with. Need to be careful and specific with the limitations and the way they do it.
  15. The 'experts' say that my region is due for a major earthquake. I'm pretty sure none of the structures, like bridges, or buildings were planned with the thought of making it through a major earthquake. They are not something people could really predict when the pressure is too over loaded to cause the earthquake. We are though better prepared for Tornadoes, with the live Doppler and the news, sirens, and phone calls. Unlike earthquakes, tornadoes are predictable based on weather patterns, air masses/pressure, and temperature. Different regions are likely more prepared... and I think if people prepare after a few disasters the better. You can learn how to react and prepare for an earthquake by following what people do in earthquake prone zones. Learn how to stay safe within a structure. What supplies would be best to keep in a secure/safe place. There are some things you just cannot prepare for though.. like the power plant, if it fails, that's not on you. That was a loss for the experts, their failure. Usually individuals and what the individual needs. Personally - I am not prepared for any natural disaster. (Slaps wrist.. bad Krista bad)

    Chapter 17

Yeah.. his Daddy will get worse before it gets better.. hint hint.. I was actually worried about how Cora - his mother will be portrayed throughout the story. Glad people are seeing the.. sort of subtle strength and power she has over her husband.. Even when he's growling like a big bear.. lol.
  17. Happy Birthday Momma Rush! I hope you had a wonderful one.

    Chapter 17

Thanks! I'm glad you are liking the story and reading! There have been many breaking points in this story between Corey and his father Lee, but Corey never took it to that level, he always backed off... will he ever take it to that level?
  19. SIS 17 By the time Clinton stopped kissing me we were both sweating from the heat of the day and I didn’t feel the strangeness of kissing him anymore. I hoped it lasted. Trouble was starting to get anxious, which was the reason he broke the last kiss with a smile. She had attempted to jump onto the lounge chair that we were both on. The smell of him was intensified by the heat, both our bodies shining in the intense sun. “Wow,” I whispered causing him to smirk as he sat up. “I t
