I personally think Middle School and High School is partly to blame. I know they teach Abstinence and Heterosexual friendly sex-education only classes here and then they wonder why so many people get an STD of some sort and girls getting pregnant. Really, students need to be taught how to protect their self when it comes to sex... otherwise they will do what the older people have done, and protection during sex has never been as well taught as it should be. If they have unprotected sex as teenagers, when they're in more diverse crowds the same practices are still in play. I know when I attended my little brother's PTA meetings, it came up and there were only three out of like the 45 parents that actually attended want Sex-education to include more than abstinence. I was the only one that wanted them to include homosexual sexual protection. Then that year 11 girls, one in middle school, were pregnant. There was also a small syphilis outbreak as well. Now the next fall school term (August 2008) they are teaching safer sex in health classes in my school district, but still on heterosexual topics and completely surrounding the condom, and abstinence. I still think it's not enough, but at least it's a step. It wasn't because my preaching changed their minds.. it was because it has become a problem that has led to dangerous lifestyles. People don't get tested also, because they think they don't need to. They also don't get tested enough, and I think, a person should test after every new sexual partner. Also, every time they perform unprotected sex. Even people in "committed" relationships should test regularly. I personally get myself tested two times a year, but I don't get out of the house much anymore. I have also heard a lecture on safe-sex and the speaker said, "some people think the only way people get aids or any other disease is through sharing needles." I don't know how large that number is, or if it was just a, "wake up and listen" shock-tactic to keep people interested in the lecture at hand.. but I hope that's a small number of people that was representing that idea. I wouldn't want to see JK do anything more with the HP series, anything else I would think would take away from the original series. I would like to see what else she has planned as she is new to the Author scene still. Krista

Thank you Steve, I agree. I've had this discussion with my friends in a club when a rumor was started that someone we all knew had been dating someone with Aids. I don't know how the rumor got started, but I know I was the only one that said I wouldn't be too afraid or against the idea to not have a loving and healthy relationship with someone who was HIV positive. Anyway, I wouldn't want to know anyone's medical history, then hold it against them after I did know it. It is a terrible thing to have, but what's worse is seeing the lack of support. As it is one thing to have a preference and an opinion and another to act out negatively. Krista

Oh goodness... Atonement is the very movie I want to watch and you just made me want to watch it a lot more... I don't get to go to Theaters though so I'll probably have to wait until it is released on DVD to see it.. Anyway, Charlie Wilson's War is another movie I want to see. Krista

You all have done a great job on the anthologies, even getting them out earlier for the reader's enjoyments and to put an end the the Author's anxiety and such. So thanks for all the hard work everyone puts into this program to make it function and be prepared nicely. Hmm, well, I think, when you see sad endings to most stories it's a more final way for a story to end. I know I've ended a few stories on a sad, final, way where the characters meet an unfair end of some sort. Anyway, you've opened my thoughts to putting more depth into a story's end. Krista

I would say, a vengeful, misunderstood goat on a mission.

The story had the feel of how those.. Superhero/Villain story-lines begin. It may be an obvious statement, but it was done well.. Krista

The Family Stone, is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies.. Loved it. Krista

My favorite Disney movie is The Little Mermaid. Then Sleeping Beauty. Anyway, August Rush is the VERY movie I want to see next.. lol. I never get to go out to see them so I'll be waiting to snatch up the DVD. The good reviews for tat movie is only making it worse.. lol. I also want to see the new Keira Knightly movie, "Atonement" I think? And then the new Katharine Heigle movie, which I cannot remember the title. Some movies that I've watched recently, Surf's Up, watched it with the brats and hated it. Shrek The Third, watched it with the brats as well... and they get worse with every new movie.. I liked the first one though. Live Free or Die Hard Tristan and Isodle, I have no idea how I missed this movie when it first was released, but I like the movie a lot. Krista
