So far today has been peaceful. I'm hoping it will remain so. Today is my younger son's 21st birthday. I have mixed feelings about it. While I'm happy for him, I'm also a bit leery. Considering everything we've gone through with him lately, having him reach the milestone of legal drinking age is worrisome. However, I can't control his actions nor take accountability for his decisions so I've come to terms with it. We're taking him out to dinner in a bit when my husband gets home from work. I'm hoping it will be a nice evening. We never know with him. So tonight my happy place is going to be a a table with a good pizza and a beer or two!

I'm not a big fan of traditional pie crust. I do love Graham cracker crust though. I'll have to try the oat crust one of these days. I haven't been doing too much cooking/baking lately.

Lemon-- yellow Yellow-- mellow Honestly, most anything lemon-y is pretty damn tasty. My personal favorite is Lemon merangue pie. I've never tried making it but it's a once in blue moon treat I'll buy for a special occasion.

As the above hooligans said...Whiskey is preferred, but really any alcoholic libation is ok as long as it doesn't have coconut in it.

Thanks for this molly. My morning started out horribly but I've learned that certain things are totally beyond my control and I've come to terms with being okay with it. Sometimes a few deep breaths are the best things ever. My day is what I make of it and I'm determined not to let anyone else pull me down with them On a happy note, my best friend's daughter got engaged yesterday. I'm so excited for them. I hope everyone has a good week!

I personally have to join the butter bandwagon because butter is better on biscuits, bagels, and bread. After all it's why we have butterscotch not coconutscotch, buttercream frosting not coconutcream frosting... and we can't forget Butterfingers, can you imagine Coconutfingers (shudders).🤣(yeah, I know coconut oil is healthier, but I rarely make cookies so I'll use butter and consider it treat. Coconut 🤢) Have a great day everyone and enjoy whatever flavor you prefer!

I've got the whole weekend off and other than some light housekeeping, no other plans. I have some chicken I need to divvy up into single servings and freeze. Cookies sound good too.... but when don't they?

That sounds lovely. We have a huge backyard but I have the furthest thing from a green thumb lol. It's so hot right now down here I'm don't know how anyone can stand it. At my community the roads are being repaved. I gotta give kudos to the crew. The heat index is over 100 degrees and they're out all day working. I went out this morning and bought $60 worth of Popsicles and frozen juice bars for them and my maintenance staff. I'll keep the freezer stocked for the summer.

I haven't been around too much the past couple of months. I've had a lot of challenges thrown my way and it's been rather rough. But today is the first time in a long while that I really feel happy. So yes... it is a good day.

I have no words. Carlos was a great author and someone who would be brutally honest with you in order to make you a better writer. He challenged me to reach beyond what I thought I was capable of. He will be sorely missed 😥💔

I do miss western Mass. I wouldn't trade growing up there for anything. We've got a trip planned for September and I'm looking forward to going tobthe Big E. It's been 25 years since I last went. I'm rather partial to Capri in Holyoke. I could scarf their pizza every day! I'm glad you found my stories and hope you enjoy them!

I agree that series are completely hit or miss. I think the successful ones, and by that I mean those that capture the audience's attention, are those that can tell a story from different perspectives. I like to see how a story unfolds from different character's points of view as long as there aren't too many characters. I tried to read a story once and it jumped POV so many times, I gave up after a couple of chapters because it was too confusing. Having a vision for a series can be complicated. When I first started writing Spirit Wolves I had no intention of writing a series. It wasn't until I let the story sit for two years and picked it up again that I started developing idea for the three part series based on the story. Great article. Thanks!

I actually did throw a frying pan once during an argument. It was a long, long time ago and I didn't throw it at a person but across the room. We still have it and it's still dented. I'm much older and calmer now (mostly) but that pan reminds me of a hot-headed girl with a lot to learn about life and relationships. Luckily she learned from her mistakes. Lol. Enjoy your new place and I'm glad you have a kitchen partner you can enjoy cooking with.

I could do nothing but laugh when I saw this. My week has not been the greatest, but I've been trying to look at the bright side of things and stay positive. That resolve went right out the door when I saw a venomous baby snake slithering on my window sill at work. On the inside. Less than 2 feet from me. I haven't moved that fast since I was a kid. I need hazard pay. Or @Kitt with her frying pan.

It always amazes me to hear stories and to see a side of someone I knew and/or loved from other people's perspectives. No matter how close we are to someone, there is always a side of them that another person knows and we had no idea existed. I always disliked the traditional Catholic funerals I went to when I was younger. They were too somber and the Mass itself depressing. The first Celebration of Life I went to was eye-opening. It showed me that death doesn't have to be all tears and sadness. It's okay to laugh and reminisce with joy and happiness. Beautiful poem tim ❤️

Their little group is expanding with everyone having something to offer. Taking care of others is just as important as doing anything else. Yes, they need to spoil themselves occasionally. The seriousness of their situation needs a little levity once on a while, be it a hair cut or game night (hint hint-they need to stumble across a few board games) It's also time for that cottage. Security and privacy don't necessarily go hand in hand and the boys gotta do what the boys gotta do. Nice chapter Wayne.
