No worries. I'm pretty sure the issue lies with Germans and most of the world having features that use metric measurements. My default is the US's stubborness to cling to the imperial system. My brain still can't compute kilometers into miles without plugging it into Google. There have been time-jumps and there will be again. It's just part of Troy and Miles navigating that long road home. @FanLit has said it repeatedly"trust the process". She's kinda smart.

One of the story tags is "coming of age". With only 27 chapters, they have to go from kids to adults and navigate whatever turmoil is affecting Miles. (I will get to that eventually. It's not exactly what any of y'all think). What their everyday life is like isn't the focus of the story, which is why I left it vague. I could've easily written another couple of chapters showing what they do day-to-day, but it would have been filler. It's safe to assume that, outside of Miles' mental struggles, they are ordinary young guys who do typical things. Troy is fostering friendships in school and Miles has a part-time job. I deliberately wanted my readers to fill in the blanks because, honestly, what all y'all come up with is better than what I could. Not all stories have happy endings and there are 15 more chapters to go. They won't be easy. But no one is going to die.
