  1. You can do this a couple of ways: 1- you can italicize the thoughts of the character X so the readers know what he's thinking without relying on 'telling'. At the same time you have character Y pondering X's thoughts and gradually changing his perception. 2- you can have character Y hypothesize as to what he/she thinks the other person is thinking. This leaves room for further speculation on the main character's part and an internal dialogue showing the change if heart. Let me know if you need more help or if you want to bounce some ideas around.

    Chapter 47 S2

As long as I don't get stuck 🤣🤣
  5. Let's look at it this way--the definition of fantasy: the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable. Writing about one's fantasy takes it from the "impossible or improbable" to reality in the particular world you've created. Fantasy is a concept that humans have come up with. It's what you make of it. It can remain something improbable/impossible or it can become reality as a written story. Think of it as building a house. The fantasy is picturing it in your mind, the foundation. The story is everything else; the walls, the cabinets, the paint etc. As to whether or not it's a good thing... in most cases I'd say yes. An active imagination is healthy. However, the line can be crossed when someone acts on their fantasy in a malicious way such as stalking, threatening or trying to kill someone.
  6. Writing for pleasure is a thing, and like any other hobby, you have to enjoy the process and the outcome. It has a beginning and an end. Fantasizing is a horse of a different color in that it can be continuous and fluid in the direction your mind decides to take it in. A written story, once posted or published isn't easily changed, nor would an author want it to be. Most writers put their works out there only after it has gone through editing. A story can only be revisited as it was written. A fantasy, on the other hand, is something you can go back to and change repeatedly if you so choose. Both forms allow a person to get lost in them and lose track of time, but eventually, the written words end. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy either way. I think stories differ from fantasies in that they start from an idea and develop from there. Many authors see a clear beginning, middle, and end. Others take an idea and run with it to see how it develops. A fantasy starts as an idea as well, but it's more like one of those games where there's an action and you choose what happens next, then that choice leads to another choice and so on. Each time is different. Don't sweat it if you can't get your fantasy to turn into a written story. If it works in your head and doesn't translate to virtual paper, so be it. As long as you enjoy it and it makes you happy then that's all that matters. It sounds like you have a wonderful imagination and that's a great thing. Enjoy it!

Sometimes I do my best work when under pressure. Lol.
  8. No wonder this one went down in history!
  9. That was my first concert. I didn't get tickets when they first dropped... they sold out in about 30 minutes. I got them thru a scalper.. paid $60... a lot back than... but so worth it!
  10. U2 has been my favorite band since they hit the US with their War album. I've seen them 6 or 7 times in concert. It's always a great show. Bono and his hat in the 80s... hell yes! Tonight thank God it's them instead of youuuuuuuuu.....

OMFG... no wonder you'll never live this one down! Sniping Santa into oblivion. I honestly don't know whether to laugh or not... I'll go with laughing.
  12. Link please? I, too, missed this famed literary masterpiece.
  13. I like the more uptempo, faster beat Christmas songs. White Christmas makes me want to scream "speed it up!" I think my favorite song is Band Aid's Do They Know Its Christmas. We took my son and one of his friends to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra when he was in high school. It was a great show. True story..... When I was seven I got my two front teeth for Christmas. Much to my surprise their was a HUGE box in the living room with my name on it. I was sooo excited! But Dad made me open my other gifts first, which was fine.. whatever. I finally get to open this massive box which was probably three feet high. I shred that wrapping paper with absolute glee and pry the top open to discover...... .........another box. I'm not kidding when I say I had to open at least fifteen boxes all nestled inside one another. I was tired by the time I got to a small ring-sized one. Lo and behold! Santa brought me two front teeth. I'm talking actual dental fabricated front choppers, not fake novelty teeth. Dad laughed his @$$ off. Mom just shook her head. She was just as surprised as me. I'm not sure how long it took Santa to wrap everything but I found out years later that Dad had my uncles, who were dentists, have the teeth made. It's my most memorable Christmas gift ... beating out my Barbie townhouse and water skis.

    Chapter 1

Sorry I missed this the other day. Your husband's company sounds like a great place to work. More companies need to learn to appreciate and take care of their employees. It's a proven fact that a positive working environment is more productive.

    Chapter 1

What the heck is a brookie? If it's like a bear claw I'm all in! Also this: we'd ensured that the fabric could adjust and accommodate her body shape even while bloated, Jesus... please don't ever remind a female of her bloat if you want to live. 🤣 I thoroughly enjoyed your story. Great job with the prompt!
