I think it's important to note that 30 years ago, it was a lot more normal to keep adoptions hush hush. Woman would pretend to be pregnant or disappear and return with baby. Adoption is a lot more open nowadays. But there's a lot of people my age (36) and older that have some emotional horror stories from all the secrets. I'm glad it's been normalized. My youngest is adopted and its nothing like it used to be. Everything is an open book. With that said, I'm still upset with how the parents handled it. They didn't set anyone up for success. They were blinded by their own need and desire

Well, that escalated quickly!! Poor Kim. My heart cannot even fathom what that had to have been like. I wonder if there is enough therapy in the world do be normal after that kind of ordeal.

They definitely looked at Matt's age and made assumptions. They also played Seamus. They knew they could intimidate him, why else slam him with lawsuits? Intimidation. That's why. And it was working, except Matt would have none of it. He could see past the smoke and mirrors. Thank God.

Praise to Matt for not letting things go quietly into the night. I agree that Seamus needs to give it a rest, but I'm also glad that he got to see Matt take charge and see first hand that there was nothing to worry about. Seamus has been through a lot in his past, it's hard to let certain insecurities go.

Technically, Aidan would be little baby's uncle (since he is Matt's brother biologically). But in every sense of term, and in accordance with the law of the state, as well as the law of emotion and family dynamic, Aidan is the big brother.

It’s honestly pretty close to finished. The only hold up is that we’re hosting my nephews graduation party this weekend and trying to get everything done in time is kind of hectic. SO doesn’t handle the stress of prep well, so I’ll be coming in clutch…emotional support lol.

I think the groundwork is CRUCIAL. I've read so many stories where the author is overly obvious about what's coming and they beat the clues to DEATH. When the plot twist finally comes, you've already been watching it from a distance, it no longer adds to the story. IMO. My favorite stories are the ones where the author keeps it so simple. Lay it, water it, but leave it alone for the most part. Small details that make you think and wonder. I hate being told. I want to use my brain! I want my imagination to be challenged.
