Interesting. We make choices in life - you probably made the right choice this time as Jim was too crude, free spirited and dangerous for you. As a fellow Westchester County private school boy of the early 1980's, I appreciate this story because I know just what it was like to be there and how poor the options were. Nothing happened in my school either, though I did go through a decent portion of my scout troop . . . oh my!
Thanks for sharing this. I know the school, though mine was a different one not too far away, and it was even more oppressive. I do value the experience, but am grateful to have moved on to a public high school where I had a few good friends many good memories. I especially appreciate the photograph that comes with this story as it brings me back to that time.
