    Chapter 1

Thank you, Paul, your comment means a lot to me. My recent break has been because I needed it mentally and emotionally, physically I'm as well as can be expected, treatment never comes to an end. But I'm back again and hopefully, I'll be back to writing again soon.
  2. Thank you for commenting throughout the story, your comments are valued and appreciated. Sadly, The Major's story has taken this turn, but this is only part of his story as it continues in The Boot Three Years On. Hopefully, it gets better. Sometimes we have to forgive ourselves before life can forgive us, I've got my fingers crossed for The Major.

    Part 2

Many governments are lacking in the way they provide for their ex-service personnel and the UK government is no exception. I agree it is a sad chapter, but it needed telling for everyone to understand The Major/Ox/Alex.

    Part 1

First I should apologise for the delay in responding, I needed to take a short break and have only just returned. I'm glad that you like the start of the story and hope you continue to enjoy it.
  5. Hi everyone, I'm back online and slowly getting my head back to where it should be. I'll catch up with you all later when I've caught up on my notifications, there's a lot to catch up on. It's good to be back. 😃
  6. Guys, I'm logging off for two or three weeks, it's something I need to do but I hope to be back soon. But before I go, don't tease Boom Boom too much, Mama Espinosa is getting a bad back bending over to pick up his dummy every time he spits it out. @Drew Espinosa, don't take it to heart, I love you really.
  7. Nobody here would bully Terry. 😠 ( I used the correct quote this time, lol.)
  8. Wait. 👏 For. 👏 Terry! 👏 There it is Drew, you're stuck with it, and it's not that bad a nickname.
  9. Post deleted as wrong quote used. Sorry guys My head isn't where it needs to be. 🙁 I'll re post with the right quote.

    Chapter 3

Now we wait for the techies to clean up the video and hopefully put a face to the suspect, a suspect who appears to be a similar age to the victims. We can only speculate on his motive, is he a jilted lover, a victim of childhood abuse or could it be something else? Until they have more to go on they need to be careful, the perp is obviously dangerous and could pose a threat to the lads if they start investigating.

    Chapter 13

We all knew the trouble would start up again, it was only a question of when. Other readers have mentioned that there may be some bad history between Pete's Uncle George and Jordan Turner, I think they may be right and it could explain a lot of the hate being shown toward Peter which feels like it is being driven by an outside source. I hope Farley has a good plan, one that doesn't put Peter in danger. I'm liking this story more with each chapter.
  12. We all know what Terry will say, so accept it, Boom Boom.
  13. It's a political term a democratically elected government uses to describe an opposing party in a freely elected parliament. As its definition relies on a free democracy and open, honest, free elections it cannot exist within an autocratic state where any opposition is suppressed.

    Chapter 2

A serial killer is more worrying and a pattern already appears to have been established. Hopefully, Ken's investigations will turn up some useful information to help with the profiling. Although the lad's suggestions are based on conjecture they are worth checking out as the explanation is plausible, if they are correct then the fourth hotel needs to be looked at and checked out for the safety of its staff and guests. What would be interesting to know is more info on the other victims, were they staff at the hotels or guests? It is a question that needs an answer as it may have a bearing on the investigation and to rule out a copycat or opportunist using the other killings as a smokescreen to hide behind. I'll be looking for more clues in the next chapter and keeping my fingers crossed that Ken and Joe's lads are not at risk. 🤞
  15. Hey @Page Scrawler, ask Max what he thinks of these lads
  16. I wonder who out of @spike382 and @Drew Espinosa wants BLITZERS, yes I did spell it right, it is not blisters lol.

    Chapter 1

Well, their vacation started off looking good, the lads even met another couple to socialise with. Unfortunately, the life of the welcoming bellboy, whom they all took a liking to has come to a horrific end. There ends the pleasant vacation, we all knew something would happen and now Ken is going to insert himself into the investigation, it's only a matter of time before the others do the same. But I have to ask, was Juan all he claimed to be? I don't want to speak ill of the dead but we don't have any confirmation of the story he gave about his life so we should keep an open mind. I also wonder what it is that Ken wants to speak to the investigators about, could it be that he offers to 'work undercover' as a guest during his stay?

    Chapter 12

It looks like Pte's situation is improving, the adoption may not be finalised yet but I see that as a formality. But there are still a few dark clouds on the horizon, hopefully, Danbury is gone and not planning anything untoward, his arrest would put my mind at rest. Amid the speculation about Pete's siblings, we must consider the possibility that they are scared of their mum and have taken their stance due to fear. Whatever the reason only time will tell so we have to be patient, it would be his mum's fault if at some point in the future, she lost the rest of her children.
  19. This is a great article and I'm sure it resonates with many authors on GA, it certainly does for me. I wrote a one-chapter short story intending it to be a one-off, readers loved it and it ended up being the first in a series of stories, some are short one-chapter stories and others are novels of varying length. It's a great way to experiment and find out if there is a readership out there for what you are writing. If you look at Carlos Hazday's CJ series it is a mix of short one-chapter and longer multi-chapter stories, now remember how we all loved them and you will realise the value of @astone2292's presentation. Other successful GA authors have followed a similar formula and gained a good following for a series. Thank you @astone2292 for an interesting and informative article.
  20. You mean a dark fallen angel.
  21. Suck it up buttercup.
  22. He gave up wearing them, the extra height made him dizzy, lol.
  23. And to think it's all because you go dizzy when you stand on the step stool to reach the biscuits on the bottom shelf. Next time I hope you fall off!
