    Chapter 1

Danny and his friends sound like a typical group of teenagers hanging about like most teenagers do. I'm not surprised they are in awe of Jake, the young man who is living, what on the face of it to these boys, is the ideal life. Danny's closer interest is the awakening of feelings he didn't know he had and possibly fears due to the times they live in. As for the old fogey's, they will be suspicious of any newcomer to the town. As Jake hasn't done anything wrong, they can accuse him of someone is bound to invent something. Because he is young and good-looking with no girl in tow and speaking to the young lads I'm not surprised some jealous fuddy-duddy has seized on accusing him of something hard to prove or disprove, they won't care if they are right or wrong, it makes good gossip and that is all they care about.
  2. I was unaware of this and surprised.
  3. Aloha Albert and you are more than welcome.
  4. Congratulations Albert. 🥂🏆🥇🏆🥇
  5. I hear it's like good luck but sticks better, lol.
  6. It's beautiful, I love the colour and I hope you do well.
  7. Aloha Albert. If you are entering any of your orchids in the show I wish you the best of luck, my friend.
  8. There are many differences, I'll expand on the points you make. In the UK you cannot go through a red traffic light, full stop, sorry, that would be period in the USA. We drive on the left side of the road so turning left would be the equivalent of turning right in the USA, but remember there is no going through a red light here as it is the safer option. Most schools have a uniform policy, but there are a few (not many) that don't. Many schools, but not all, do use school bus services which are contracted out to local bus services and are in the bus service livery. Some areas do have big yellow school buses, Manchester is one area where they exist. Coca-Cola here is made the same as everywhere else, many varieties are available including sugar-free. Small shops and convenience stores are open all day, some from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. Stores over a certain size, which includes large supermarkets and department stores, are only allowed to open for a maximum of 6 hours on Sundays, most choose to open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm but they can choose any 6-hour slot between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. Sheep are not everywhere, we do have other live-stock too and some fields are set aside for crops. True, but we do have some smaller wildlife like badgers, foxes and the Scottish wildcat that can inflict nasty injuries if cornered. The only poisonous snake in the UK is the adder/viper and is rarely seen. If the truth is to be known the most vicious creatures in our countryside are fellow humans. Don't be fooled by these small cute-looking creatures, they can be very vicious and inflict serious injury. Somewhat true, although the restauranteur would prefer you to go, then he can seat more customers. True, but full-frontal nudity is usually shown after 10:30 pm. Only simulated sex is allowed on TV, erect male genitalia and pornography are not allowed. True and most of it is expensive. In the Crown Court, the Appeal Court and higher courts Barristers, Judges and some court staff wear robes and wigs, Solicitors do not wear them. It is a pretentious tradition but not one that serves any useful purpose. Barristers. Judges. None of the above differences between the UK and the USA mean that one is better than the other, just that differences do exist. It is worthwhile pointing out that we do have a lot in common too.
  9. I'm sangry, no it's not a word yet, I heard it on TV this morning. Sangry = sad and angry. I'm sad for Carter who has gone through hell and now he is treated like shit. Carter did not put Jeremy in danger, Jeremy did that himself and did it out of a sense of decency. After previously mistreating Carter he wanted to help Carter and make amends. Carter told him to go but Jeremy stayed and when he was seriously injured it was Carter that got him to safety despite his own injuries. And I'm angry at Dexter for being the f*****g asshole he is and Laura for being such a self-centred bitch, both of them are only interested in themselves, to them Jeremy is just their vessel to living a life of luxury. So there you have it, I'm sad and angry, SANGRY!
  10. I'll try to answer your question. According to a Google search men's underwear is referred to as boxers or briefs depending on what style is worn, women's underwear is referred to as panties. Maybe one of our American members can tell you if that is right or wrong.
  11. I have now read this and found it a fascinating and riveting story. I recommend it.

    Chapter 9

I hope this doesn't come across as being arrogant, I think I can say that you will not be disappointed when the Christmas show comes to the stage. This is the shame of our education systems these days, I fear that many teachers have become disillusioned and lack a lot of training resulting in poorly educated, and in some cases, lazy pupils. Those who go into teaching in the future are almost guaranteed to repeat the errors of their mentors.
  13. Hiya Gary, I hope all is well on the homestead.
  14. Feeling a bit rough but I'm winning.
  15. Aloha Albert, how are you and Steve today?
  16. A nicely intense chapter with some excitement. Lopez's evil and sadistic character shows through, the way he treats Carter in his injured state and beats Jeremy after shooting him, thank god for Carter picking up the dropped gun and having the balls to pull the trigger or it could have been worse. But who's attention will the gunfire attract, Lopez's henchmen or the friendly search party? 🤞 And did I detect a hint of closeness between Carter and Jeremy amid this excitement? I guess we will discover the extent of the injuries and their effects soon.
  17. Aloha my friend
  18. Aloha Albert
  19. This is a futuristic sci-fi fantasy with elements of a touching romance that is not to be, or is it? Join this group of space travellers as they flee a crumbling earth in its final days to a distant planet to start anew. Is the planet what they wanted and thought it was, or was it something else? Do they survive, and if so how? If you want to know the answers to these questions read on because I'm not giving you the answers. I will say this, this is not my usual genre but I found it a fascinating and captivating read from the start through to the end and I'm sure you will too. This is an imaginative story worthy of the five-star rating I have given it.

    Chapter 13

I'm happy that Thad and Evan get to live out their lives as an accepted couple and relieved that they didn't have to suffer as Ned did on losing Peter. Mithras was true to his/her word and honoured the love and sacrifice made by Ned and Peter, they may have missed out on a large part of their lives together but now they can enjoy their twilight years and be part of each other's lives again. It would be interesting to see what the future holds for these two couples. To some, it may be surprising how quickly Captain Reynolds and his crew accepted this new way of life but I'm not surprised. Meeting with Mithras and reading the journals that have been kept would probably be enough to convince them even if they didn't like it, but then, they didn't have any choice, did they? Their choice was stark, extinction or survival. There is also a lot we can take away from this story. 1. We need to stop raping this planet we live on and try to correct our part in creating global warming. 2. A simpler life could be a better way forward, technology is not the answer to everything. 3. If we are going to try terraforming and living on another planet, don't expect it to be easy or to go as planned. Anything could happen I've no doubt there is more but that is what comes to mind initially. This has been a very different but enjoyable read, thank you.

    Chapter 12

The mission Mithras sent them on is only a partial success, now the problem is what happens if the spaceship crew lands on the surface of the planet? Will they fit in and accept the ways of their cousins and the planet, will they cause problems and bring down the existing societal norms, or will Mithras deal with them and they meet their end? One thing is certain, there will be trouble even if it is only short-term.

    Chapter 11

We now have many of the answers, but not all. Mithras being a sentient planet can do many things but not all, Mithras relies on the inhabitants to perform tasks beyond Mithras' capabilities. It is fair to say Mithras, the Gnos and now the settlers live in a symbiotic relationship, neither can survive without the other. The item Mithras warned about is the location beacon which by sending out its signal is a threat to them all. Captain Reynolds and his crew are totally unaware of this, but would they understand if they did know? The beacon must be destroyed, but can they get to it and destroy it in time?

    Chapter 10

The tension is building on multiple fronts, the upcoming lottery, the dreams being had by Ned and the boys and then on the approaching spaceship. What will it all mean and will the approaching spaceship bring good or bad fortune?

    Chapter 9

Wow, there is as much going on in the comments as there is in the story. Is there some hidden meaning in Ned's revealing of his past to Thad? I don't know what to expect, so I expect anything and everything. I've no more time to stay here, I'm off to read the next chapter.

    Chapter 8

There are some interesting developments in this chapter, the boys have sorted themselves out and are back to being good friends and more 😃. The Gnos understand Ned's concerns and together they seek the advice of Mithras. Mithras is understanding and gives good advice for the benefit of all, but also gives news of another arrival, one that could cause catastrophic problems. I don't know why Mithras cannot take action but Ned is charged with taking action on Mithras' behalf. What is they are looking for? Is it something they need to survive, or could it be a weapon of some description? If it is a weapon and Ned cannot get them to leave in peace will he use the weapon against them?
