I was hoping it would be the same as mine, October 11 1980, we could have claimed to be twins lol. Maybe we still can there's only three months difference, and a few thousand miles lol

I do have everything in to make buttermilk pancakes with blueberry's and maple syrup, mmmm, should I or shouldn't I 🤔

Sometimes I drizzle chocolate sauce over them. I really need to stop thinking about crêpes, my doctor has told me I need to lose some weight and at this rate, I'll be in the kitchen making them.

I think you should treat yourself and make them. Fresh crêpes with a sprinkling of sugar and a squirt of lemon juice, it's heaven. Or roll them with a filling of fresh strawberry's (or substitute with strawberry jam) and whipped cream, another version of heaven.

Hey look on the positive side, you would have some new frisbee's to play with

July Signature Author Feature: Torn in Two by Graeme

This is a great short read that I first read a few years ago, for some reason I didn't comment or leave a review. I reread it today and appreciated it more than I did the first time I read it. As a result, I've corrected my shortcomings and left a good comment and the review that I feel it deserves. I noticed that @chris191070 has also left a good review, I hope others will read and do the same. I feel sure that nobody will regret reading it. -
I first read this some time ago and I didn't leave a review, I don't know why and I'm not going to make excuses for that. But I will put that right now. A great story that allows us to see the love and devotion of family and how it affects our decisions, even if sometimes they are the wrong decisions. Love and devotion have a place in our lives, but sometimes it is misplaced. It's good that Gramps sees and understands that, through his love and devotion for his family he makes decisions that make a great and profound difference for the better. Scott has his own life to lead and Gramps will do whatever it takes to make sure he does that. A great story that I enjoyed the first time I read it, and appreciated even more the second time. Thank you for a wonderful story. I rate this as a five-star recommended read.

I first read this some time ago and I didn't leave a comment, I don't know why and I'm not going to make excuses for that. But I will put that right now. Greenwood has a population of conservative followers, yes followers not leaders, who have kept themselves in the past with the aid of a homophobic preacher. Luckily not everyone feels the same way, Gramps and Rory's dad are just two of them. They accept people for who they are in their hearts, not what they are, this is good for Rory and Scott. The community will feel the loss of these good men when Gramps leaves I don't if Rory's family will leave but it wouldn't surprise me if they do, that would be another loss to the community. Greenwood, like all communities, needs people like this to help them progress. Scott has been living his life for Gramps and expected to take over the store and look after his Grandfather, and it looks like Gramps has continued to keep the store as he believed that that is what Scott wanted. Rory and Scott's relationship, and Rory's return, is the catalyst that makes the family see the future more clearly. Gramps is the one who would understand this better than most, this being the case as soon as he realises what the future holds for the family he loves he takes matters into his own hands. He gives Scott the space and opportunity to make his decisions, but that doesn't work. Gramps then uses the tools that he has, his cunning and guile, to engineer the situation so that Scott makes the right decision without feeling forced (Gramps would make a great politician). Love and devotion have a place in our lives, but sometimes it is misplaced, it's good that Gramps sees and understands that, through his love and devotion for his family he makes decisions that make a great and profound difference for the better. A great story that I enjoyed the first time I read it, and appreciated even more the second time. Thank you for a wonderful story.

I guess I'm meant to revisit traumatic moments in my life this year.
Mancunian commented on methodwriter85's blog entry in Methodwriter85's Blog
One of the unfortunate facts of life is that we will revisit traumatic events from our past many times in life, how we handle it is the important part of this. We are all different and how we handle these events will different for all of us, unfortunately, we never 'get over' it as some like to say, what happens is that we learn to deal with it in a way that is less painful for us. Closure is when we start to come to terms with these events and manage to cope better with them. Attending the bench dedication may be beneficial for you, but only you can decide that. Your friends are probably using it as a means to remember the better times which helps them to cope better, somewhere to remember the better times often helps to lessen the effect of the more painful memories. If you don't go now you can still go sit on the bench in the future and cast your mind back to the better days, maybe in the company of your friends, sharing those good memories helps many of us who have lost someone we had strong feelings for. Maybe talking to your friends before you decide will help you with your decision and help you feel better about whatever you decide. Make the decision that you feel is best for you and give you the most peace. I wish you all best in making your decision and for the future. -
Alas at this moment in time, there is no cure for HIV, but like many others, I remain hopeful and optimistic that there will be a cure in the future. HIV research has been ongoing for many years at is currently at the point where HIV treatment is more advanced. There have been trials on various viral inhibitors that have now developed to a point where HIV can be treated leaving no detectable viral load. This is not a cure, but it does mean that the HIV virus can be suppressed to a point it cannot be detected, those on treatment regimes that have achieved this status are no longer considered to be contagious. In other words, they cannot pass the virus on to others. The most recent trials have developed a new tablet which delivers medication in one tablet instead of the usual combination therapy of two or three tablets. The new medication is more effective, easier to take and has fewer side effects, over 95% of those taking part in the trials have reported no side effects. This new medication is also cheaper than previous forms of treatment. So there has been a lot of good news, but more still needs to be done. The single-tablet treatment now available in the UK is commercially known as Delstrigo, it may or may not have a different commercial name elsewhere in the world. As a result of the different trials scientists have reported advances in the treatment of other virus-based ailments and treatments for those are also being developed. One of those advances has been reported to have been in the treatment of cancer where the development of some cancers has been slowed down greatly to the benefit of patients who have taken part in those trials. Again further research is needed to corroborate this and develop this further. Hopefully, more positive discoveries will be made prompting further research and development. HIV research has pushed virus research to make advances that otherwise would not have been possible due to the drugs developed to treat HIV.

This has been some of the most exciting and entertaining tennis that I've seen in a long time. Both players, Alcaraz and Djokovic, played their hearts out. It was close, but a brilliant match.
-
Tennis update ALCARAZ HAS WON THE MATCH!
-
Is there a slice on its way to Manchester?
-
One thing is for certain, whatever the result Alcaraz has a great tennis future ahead of him. But like you, I hope he can hold it together.
-
This is brilliant tennis, Alcaraz is 2 sets to 1 up
-
If Alcaraz can keep this up he has a real chance of winning the match 🤞
-
I've never known one game to go for so long, sets have been played in less time. And now Alcaraz has won it!
-
Same here, Alcaraz is playing well, it could be anyone's game.

The weather here is a complete about turn to what we had a few weeks ago, then it was high temperatures and sunshine. Now it's raining almost every day. Here in Manchester, we have had about six thunderstorms in the last eighteen days and there doesn't appear to be any sign of it improving in the next seven days at least.
-
Enjoy your rest my friend, I'll catch up with you soon
-
I'm adding bits to it all of the time and I'm happy with the way it's coming on. It is taking time but I don't want to rush or force it as that would spoil it, I want it to be as good as I can get it. 😃
