  1. It's been happening to me occasionally for the past few weeks. Not all the time, but probably more often than not. It's not just with story comments that it's happening, but also for forum comments. The annoying thing is that if I don't spot it when it happens, and then try to make comments to other posts in the same forum, I find the comment box has my previous comment still in it, and even if I delete it out, I can't post a new comment. The Submit Reply button isn't available, instead the Editor still claims that it is trying to save the comment. The only solution seems to be to refresh my browser, as a few other posters have already said in this thread. I'm using Google Chrome [Version 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)] on Windows 8.1 [with all available security updates installed]. Below is a screenshot I took last Sunday showing an example of this problem. As can be seen, my comment has already been posted, but the comment is still shown as being saved in the Editor box.
  2. I do not even begin to consider the fact that I may occasionally scratch my head to be a problem. 😛

    Chapter 5

*Gulp!* That so did not go as I expected. I feel bad about Brendan. The only good thing about the manner of his death was that he actually saved Lane from whatever that thing was that Phil had become. Hopefully Lane can get to Aldermore Cove before Vanessa succumbs to her cancer. And hopefully she will have some answers for him. Looking forward to the second episode.
  4. I think his doctors need to check they're giving him the correct meds...

    Chapter 4

Well, I certainly didn't see that coming! I'm just wondering how much of the last month Brendan has to live is now left for him to try to help Lane. Assuming he can actually help him... (Oh! And I've only just noticed the zombie tag in the story description. I don't normally bother reading zombie stories, so I'm actually glad I didn't spot it earlier, as I'm actually enjoying this story.) As an aside: I was glad to see you starting to use italics for people's thoughts in this chapter, @ValentineDavis21. They certainly make things easier to follow.

    Chapter 3

Curiouser and curiouser... So it seems like Charlie only exists inside the dark recesses of Lane's mind. Or is it that the memory of him only exists there? I also get the feeling that there is something more about the relationship between Lane and his adoptive mother than we are being told (of course, I could be completely wrong there). And just who is Vanessa, how did she now so much about Lane, and can she really do anything to help him. The fact that she says she lives in Aldermore Cove is probably going to be of significance anyway (if only because of the actual title of this story). We were told in chapter one that Brendan had only a month left to live. I certainly don't want him to die. And if he does have to die, I would rather it be from natural causes rather than at Lane's hands. Or am I missing something Will there be a new unexpected twist to this tale?

    Chapter 2

I'm wondering about the significance of the tattoos as well. Particularly the Grim Reaper one on his back. Twice in this chapter Lane seems to have a 'memory' of having his head being forced under water. In his dream whoever/whatever was doing it to him seems not to be human. I've a feeling this is important to the plot. I'm also wondering if the fact that Lane was adopted may be of significance... Yep, @ValentineDavis21, you've drawn me into this story!
  8. I'm really glad to hear that, Albert.
  9. G'day, Drew-pi-doo Nice day here in the West of Ireland. Drop of rain overnight, and a very light breeze today; making the day feel not so humid as the past few have been.

    Chapter 1

An interesting idea. I'll be interested to see how it all pans out. It took me a while to realise that the same scene was being described from both Brenda's and Lane's points of view in the two halves of this chapter. I'm just not too sure whether I would have put the 'not knowing he had less than a month to live' piece in this early in the story, though...
  11. Buenos días, joven Alberto!! Hope you're feeling a bit better today.
  12. Big hi, to everyone else, as well!
  13. Hey, dug! Nice, mainly sunny day here in the West of Ireland, with just a few fluffy white clouds. Temperature around 19 Centigrade.
  14. *Scratches head and tries to decide if I was just complimented or insulted*
  15. Thanks, Kitt It's not actually new. It was taken maybe 8 years or so back. Not sure if I really look like that now. Apart from anything else I've my hair in a ponytail these days. EDIT: I've just checked the EXIF data on the original photo. It was actually taken 13 years ago. My, how time flies!
  16. Look after yourself, Albert.
  17. Apparently there's an area in Chester, England, that is known locally as Nowhere. It's a spot close to a weir on the River Dee, which flows through Chester. The locals originally called the area Nigh Weir (which basically means near the weir). When the word nigh started to fall into disuse, the locals forgot the original meaning of the place name, and started to just call it Nowhere instead. (And so endeth Marty's Interesting but possibly useless fact #735)
  18. Oh god, Page... Now that was sweet!
  19. Gary! I mean Page!!
  20. Albert, my man! How the divil are you?
  21. Hi, Blacky! Well. it looks cleaner than my living space...
  22. You'll get no argument there from me, clo.
  23. Happy fourth of July to all you USA-ers! Before anyone gets upset, let me point out that Waterford Whispers News is a satirical website...
