I Shouldn’t Be Looking at Dylan Like That
Talo Segura commented on StoriesByTroy's story chapter in I Shouldn’t Be Looking at Dylan Like That
Ditto. And I've been trying to read it and getting distracted by secret authors and other shit. Let me just say the opening chapter is a blinder, can't wait to see what happens. Great narrative, great start. -
Crazy Stuff That Jeff Says
Talo Segura replied to Jeff Burton's topic in Random Thoughts and Statuses
The Suite Vulgate du Merlin – an Old French manuscript so rare there are less than 40 surviving copies in the world – has been discovered by an archivist in Cambridge University Library. The lost medieval manuscript tells the tale of Merlin and the early heroic years of King Arthur's court. In it, the magician becomes a blind harpist who later vanishes into thin air. He will then reappear as a balding child who issues edicts to King Arthur wearing no underwear. No, I'm not making this up! https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20250324-the-magical-medieval-tale-revealed-by-a-100000-dollar-camera -
Secret Author Contest "Reveal the Secret" - Guess the Author
Talo Segura replied to Cia's topic in Forum Games and Humor
I kind of assumed it was chapter one? There are a number of authors who promote their work on here and redirect to a Patreon account where they have other books, advanced chapter release, or complimentary extras, but you pay. So I thought this was like that, chapter one, as an intro to the book, which you can buy now, or wait for the author to continue publishing for free here. Anyhow, it wasn't a favourite story of mine, I just skimmed through it, but better than some which I skipped altogether. Of course, that is down to what you like personally, not any sort of reflection on the quality of the writing. -
Secret Author Contest "Reveal the Secret" - Guess the Author

So I did my own detective work and found all the information with a little bit of searching. https://leadvillelaurel.com/how-rock-hudson-befriended-gunther-allen/ One story solved thanks to @Inkognito Gunther Allen wrote Exposing My Own Reality, and it's a true autobiography, and this was published as https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/221792385-pushed-out-of-the-closet-without-a-parachute Pushed Out of the Closet Without a Parachute by Gunther Allen is a poignant memoir chronicling an unexpected friendship with the legendary Rock Hudson against the vibrant backdrop of 1980s Hollywood. When a chance encounter leads to Gunther performing at Hudson's exclusive parties, it sparks a profound connection that would reshape both their lives. -

Lousy at searching... me too, because I looked in members and author search. Anyway, answer me this: if this author has no stories how will you recognise the writing, genre, style, or anything else? Will have to be the one left at the end after guessing all the rest! -

Can somebody answer me this, author 2 on the list is Gunther Allen I can't find any author with that name! -
Link to the story that is connected to the song: Let All The Children Boogie by Sam J Miller A short gay story about two young people, it's very good.
-
knowing his parents wouldn't be happy about his sexuality and choice of careers... well the choice of career, um... He dreamed of moving to Joy City to become a porn star. that's a bold choice of career! Ryan Sykes and Dale Featherstone are definitely something, work partners, best friends, and neighbors... and they are about to enter this fantastic fantasy hologram! This universe is expanding and becoming almost surreal, tickling the imagination.

Looking for a short, romantic tryst, that might turn into something more. Want some light reading with a feel good factor that's not over cooked, but seasoned just right? Here it is, well constructed enjoyable read that you can't fail to enjoy and appreciate the writing.

A breath of fresh (sea) air, azure blue and glistening with reflected sunlight, and perhaps the taste or intoxication of a cocktail in a beach bar with a view. Super writing, narrative, descriptions, and dialogue.
-
This is my first encounter with this author. I could write a whole missive about chosen author names which attract or deter readership, but that's for another time, perhaps. Here, the title grabbed me: The Adventures Of Joy City's Heroes, nice title. So I picked it up and started reading not knowing what to expect. The opening sentence, It was fifteen minutes till five am, and dawn hadn't broken through the waning hours of the previous night's moonlit, starry sky over Joy City's population. pulled me in. Then the descriptions hooked me, Shallow, barely audible breaths were rhythmically inhaled through Charles Peterson's nostrils and exhaled through the slightly parted lips. and finally I was swallowed into what can only be described as an extremely creative soft porn fantasy. One which uses magical properties to create almost unimaginable realities. Oh, I have a slight criticism of the tense changes from past to present, but I got over it. The evoked scenes are a world apart, like some bizarre mystical creation written onto pages from the immense imagination of the author. Is it really pornographic? Well, only maybe because it has lots of sex, but it's almost more a fairy tale much more than it is erotic. Despite all the explosive dynamic sexual exploits, it can hardly be said to be erotic porn and is much more vivid imaginative fantasy, with a unique twist, tickling! This is almost a review, but I felt compelled to let you know what I thought, and after all you did say, I'm sooo dying to see the reaction to this chapter.

Problem solved, just needed to change browser.

Kyle doesn't come across as a psychopath until he reveals his true self and that is quite a dramatic turn around, if there was any hint, any foreshadowing at the beginning, then I missed it.
-
To write a story as good as this using the Sci-fi genre as the medium for an emotional drama and unique love story takes a real crafting by the author. It is quite unique and should not be missed.

Excellent story that uses the medium of the Sci-Fi genre to tell an emotional love story. Exquisitely executed narrative which I can only applaud.
-
This is the second of these stories that has prompted me to write a review because it was simply very well done. The author packed emotional drama in bucket fulls into a realistic slice of life with believable characters and events and all in 2000 words. Well done, I urge you to read it.

This short story had everything in 2000 words, overflowing emotions, drama, love and terrible real events. Ultimately it a triumph in several ways.
-
It was interesting for what it was, although there must be a lot more background we can only imagine or maybe discover if the story continues?

Saints, Sinners, and the Sucker in the Middle
Talo Segura commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Saints, Sinners, and the Sucker in the Middle
Sky is definitely struggling, he tells us his thoughts, so we know. Now we know Ryan is too and that's a little revelation he shared with Sky. Gabriel, well there's an unknown. This beach party is gonna be some event!- 64 comments

Me too! Been using it for years, the original, old version was best, no ads, but if you can ignore the publicity and calls to buy extensions you don't need, then it works fine. Needs double line spacing to paste easily into GA stories, but that's workable, and it's free, with spell check (US) and everything else you need, almost.

Oh I don't know: in the 1976 film directed by Derek Jarman and Paul Humfress the script portrays the events of the life of Saint Sebastian, the film was aimed at a gay audience, was controversial for the homoeroticism portrayed between the soldiers and for having dialogue entirely in Latin. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebastiane -
Hi, I'm Gay, and This Is a Cry for Help
Talo Segura commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Hi, I'm Gay, and This Is a Cry for Help
Skylar, love his observations and introspection; Lex is a great side kick; Ryan, I don't know, does he have a pulse? Very entertaining! -
A story of warriors, gods, and monstrous creatures, an epic quest of triumph over the fates, and all this without omiting the sexual jousts along the way. The soft pornography of Ancient Greek history as interpreted by the author. I don't imagine it was with this story that he gained a classic author status, because it doesn't make it anywhere close to being a masterpiece, but rests nonetheless entertaining, especially if you are a fan of Ancient Greek mythology.
