  1. He's already at least partially aware of his new title. He made a post in that thread expressing shock -- probably just overcome with emotion.
  2. He'll be modest, and insist that he doesn't deserve this honour (or honor, even). He'll make some complaint about trying to steal Shadowgod's title, even though Shadowgod has already abdicated. The throne for cliffhanger royalty is currently empty -- we're just waiting for CJ's return so we can do the coronation.
  3. No. They wanted to wait, but that was just to be sure about their feelings. Chase stated he didn't want to turn 18 and still be a virgin, so they want to 'correct' that situation before he turns 18. If it wasn't for the corrupted music tracks, they would have done it that night -- I think the chapter makes that clear. Alas, I fear you're right. My only hope is that he wants to save some of those reasons for another story....
  4. It's possible He indicated he won't be back until the 23rd, so we've got a week. Do you think reading this thread is going to keep him for posting for ... say ... an hour? Of course, he'll then post ten or more posts, commenting on everything that's been said, using the excuse that the "quote" facility only allows a certain number per post, so he has to post a number of times to include all the quotes he wants to respond to. However, we all know the real reason -- he'll just be getting a major post-fix because he's been going through withdrawal symptoms.
  5. I'm so sorry, Kevin. I had no idea all of this was going on when I bothered you the other day. At least things seem to be picking up. I'm not sure how long ago you broke up with Andrew, but he's that much older now, and hopefully that much more mature. It can make all the difference, sometimes. Good luck!
  6. Only three days until the 18th and chapter 15 Joe -- please take note and make sure you're around on that day
  7. I fear you might be right, though I hope you're wrong. Absolutely not!
  8. Prices went up today -- the normal weekly cycle. I'll use AUD$1.349 per litre for my calculation, but I think some places are more than that. Litres -> US Gallons: AUD$5.107 per US gallon AUD -> USD (using AUD$1 = USD$0.9005): USD$4.60 per gallon
  9. Congratulations to Yahoo! for their recognition of royalty
  10. I think we'll get some really good cliffhangers once the two story lines start to merge. After all, there's nothing like an impending nuclear explosion to put some tension into a story.... As for what's happening -- we know Chase wants to lose his virginity before he turns 18. The current question is will he get his wish, or will circumstances beyond his control (but not beyond CJ's control) prevent him?
  11. Signing in, because I know CJ would want it that way... I'm off in rural Victoria at the moment -- thankfully for only one night. It's not the place isn't nice -- it's just that the place isn't home
  12. Please! If you start saying things like that, you'll be quoted forever, as the goat uses your words to support his claim that he doesn't use cliffhangers! However, I understand. So far in this particular story, he's been relatively good. I don't expect that to last....
  13. I was in Vegas for a conference and didn't have a lot of spare time. I did a bit of sightseeing, but not that much. It sounds like the interpretation of the new law is what is at fault. I was staying at Paris and that, and Bally's that it connects to, is essentially one building. I don't see how smoking at one end can have any effect on dining at the other end -- the distance is too much for any significant amount of second hand smoke to drift. The principle is fine -- it's the mechanics of the implementation that is faulty.
  14. I love your six year old. I'm not game to tell mine about instant messengers... though both of my boys have had chats with some of my friends (the boys talk, I type). If the timezones didn't make it impossible, I'd suggest getting Matthew and my youngest chatting -- it could be interesting
  15. Happy Birthday! My condolences on your loss of teenagerhood.
  16. Happy Birthday, Sharon! I hope you have a great day and that your family spoils you rotten.
  17. It's possibly a cultural thing. There's nothing wrong with taking children to a bar that serves food in Australia -- I've done it many times. Similarly in the UK. We didn't have children when we lived there, but family meals at a bar were quite common. The bigger question is what are those parents doing taking their kids to The Strip in Las Vegas in the first place? I was there last month and I quickly decided that I'm NOT taking my kids there. The Strip is really designed for adult entertainment. Some of the shows and places are suitable for kids, but the streets aren't. As a general rule, I agree with laws that ban smoking in food serving areas, and in places where large numbers of people congregate. As has been discussed ad nauseum above, my belief is that while adults should be allowed to smoke, I disagree that they should be allowed to subject others to the effects of second-hand smoke. Customers have the option of not being there, but employees don't -- or, rather, the option for employees is a lot more serious (ie. loss of a job) if they want to avoid exposure to second-hand smoke.
  18. And what are you expected to wear when you go to a public beach? Happily, I speak Australian, which doesn't appear to be illegal. Is there something about Nebraska and hair that we should know about? South Carolina obviously had a problem with horses at one point in its history....
  19. If MSN won't acknowledge that C James is :king: :king: The Queen Of The Evilest Cliffhangers :king: :king: then I don't see why I should use them. Oh, wait. I don't use them, anyway....
  20. I can appreciate not wanting to be punched in the face. As far as I'm concerned, the only real way is to have them tell you. I've had enough experience with meeting people to know that effeminate characteristics don't always mean that the guy is gay. The only way I can see that's foolproof is to be out, and then let them approach you if they want to. I'm a coder, too, and my only 'artistic' ability is in writing. Congratulations on coming out to them, though, and I'm really glad it went well
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. I picked I would like to be 21-30, and "Other Reasons". The main one is that I would like to act on what I know now -- the internal peace I've got now that I've finally accepted that I'm gay.
  23. The silliness is spread between the chapters and other miscellaneous threads... such as this one Sorry I didn't post yesterday -- I was on another business trip and I didn't have internet access. AND I've got another trip coming up later this week Sometimes I go weeks without travelling and then I get hit with a whole lot in a short space of time....
  24. Shadowgod implied that chapter 16 ends with one huge cliffhanger.... Any speculation on what's likely to happen in the next chapter? Apart from Chase losing his virginity, that is. I'm trying to guess if the next chapter will include the concert. Given that Zeke's brother probably has a strong interest in music, he'll probably be expecting Zeke to get him a back-stage pass. Now that he has confirmed who Brandon is, Zeke may not want to do that -- but will he have a real choice? I can foresee some fireworks -- possibly outing Chase -- if Zeke's brother ends up back stage at the concert. Or maybe that's how chapter 16 ends and that's what Shadowgod is waiting anxiously for chapter 17....
  25. I suspect you're only identifying a subset of gay guys. Most people who claim to be able to spot gays (ie. they think they have a perfect gaydar) may have an almost 100% success rate with those they claim to be gay, but they often fail to pick up all the gay guys.
