Have to agree that I too found the scene between mikey and his dad touching....“One more thing, Miles—is it too late—for us?” I think I surprised the shit out of him by how fast I was wrapping my arms around him, and how hard."... I was a little dissappointed the moment was broken by the untimely honking arrival of Jay. Least there's hope we will see more father/son moments. The scene with Jay and Zane was intense. I was glad Jay stepped in but was worried about him confronting the bigger boy. Luckily it didn't go any further but I imagine Zane is the sort to not let things slide and we may expect a backlash sometime later. Having only just met Jay I think it was quite courageous of Dennis to come out to him. Guess he felt secure knowing that having rebuffed his attempts at making friends earlier only to come back later and stick his neck out for him, Jay might just be worth opening up to and he needed new friends. Now he has J&M and a potentially special friend in Greg. Oh lastly thought it was funny when Mikey accidentally rubbed up against the wrong foot at the lunch table.

Well met. Same as everyone else it's really hard not to like Mikkel and Sam. Their story was great, a chance encounter that lead to a loving relationship..." if we were in the same room, even now six years on, we found ourselves touching unconsciously more often than not ". The phone call was fun. I didn't expect Jay to be as nervous or embarrassed as he was, but once he got his opening and started talking about Mikey he was gushing with youthful enthusiasm. I'm glad the uncles are concerned and caring enough to be there for Jay, and the fact he's their favorite nephew earns them bonus points in my book. Can't wait for all of them to get together. Btw keep forgetting to thank you for going the extra mile and including the links and photos. The extra imagery to compliment your writing adds to my enjoyment of your story. Especially helpful when I don't quite get some of the references. Frottage....I actually had to look that up....I've learned a new word

Meeting the parents first time always nerve wracking but I think this went surprisingly well. I say surprising because coming from Jays POV there was a distinctive difference in perception which is to be expected i.e. you don't know them as I do, and, people sometimes behave differently around others, the "company face" as you put it. And whilst reading I was actually looking for any signs of fake airs but to be honest I couldn't really fault them, they seemed genuine enough. I can understand Mikeys views may have been a little clouded but can't blame him for that. Of course seeing the Beckels in their home and making constant comparisons would have only helped confirm his views. I do accept though that with Just Mikey at home there seemd little reason for them to continue devoting so much of their time to their jobs, which was the main thing, not bad parents just not there. Guessing they are the kind of parents who think they show their love by being good providers. I suddenly remember why i took a break from reading this, it kept touching on too many personal memories.

Had me worried there for a bit. Mikeys' sudden turnaround had me wondering what the hell happened and where is this coming from? I can well understand Jays reaction. Thank goodness Far was astute enough to discern the likely cause and help Mikey through it. The little tale of Annelise and the other siblings was funny and a little sad too. From what little I've learnt of Jerry, I'm pretty sure when he reconnects with Jay, he will be sure to include Mikey as well. Jerry would do anything to ensure Jays happiness and will quickly recognise just how happy Mikey makes him. Getting ahead of myself hehe? I think it's a safe bet. Great chapter, despite that little heart flutter at the start.

Another beautiful chapter. Had to laugh at the parents trying to even the score for Mikey, mentioning the sunburn story. I wonder who told them about that? Just shows the love and connection within this great family, which Mikey is now part of, having been officially welcomed even by Linda. This story continues to warm the heart. J&M may be young, but there is a rare depth to their feelings for one another which makes every moment they are together precious. Little wonder Mikey would be sad about it coming to an end if only temporarily. Looking forward to J-One's visit.

Oh wow that was a perfect coincidence, I'd just read Jay's Special Gift before this, it was the story of Jerry and how he taught Jay a thing or two. That lead me nicely back here, guess it was meant to be. Such a warm chapter, their innocent explorations were tender and sweet. I liked Mikeys little surprise with Jays new colourful underwear. Forgot how much I was enjoying this, good to be back.

What a neat wee story. Makes me miss Jay and Miles, got sidetracked but will get back there soon. Also got me thinking about my younger brother.
-
Well not really my kind of story but that's just my different taste. I may not have enjoyed the story, but i respect you for having the courage to put it out there. I hope you are in a much better place now.

Normally I'd be shocked by the events in this chapter, but I'm really not surprised. Seems every time Charlie goes off leaving bobby at home alone, the axe falls. Now the poor dog has to pay for Charlies' stupidity. Yup sorry, but yeh just not behaving logically here. Then he agrees to blow the neighbors brother, the ex-con homophobe, seriously. And now he's going to get his gun and do what exactly? This is a train crash in the making and my morbid curiosity is going to make me read the last chapter just to see it happen.
-
I'm not altogether sure if Charlie can or should continue to deal with this situation. As well as his personal safety, Bobbys' constant demands for sex would get quite frustrating. Furthermore, Bobby has enough low self esteem so putting him down and belittling him is not going to help. I hate to think it, but I worry about bringing Stan into this environment. Now to make matters worse, the mother is acting out. Seriously not a good situation at all.
-
Bobby is really messed up, his father has a lot to answer for. Now we discover younger brother Stan was also in grave danger and in need of rescuing. The father is a sicko hiding behind religion to shield his perversions, proper judgement awaits. I'm glad Charlie is rebuffing Bobbys advances. He needs to continue reinforcing the boundaries and teaching Bobby what is acceptable. The abuse Bobby has suffered has left him with warped expectations making him vulnerable to exploitation. Worse, he is trying to manipulate Charlie into giving him what he wants, thinking this is normal behaviour. Frank did a real number on him. The psychological damage is going to take a lot of time and patience to repair, so far Charlie is doing the right thing.

Yeah I don't get the whole rape thing either but then fiction doesn't always have to make sense. Funnier still, they deliver him into the hands of a gay man and don't tell me they couldn't figure it out, I mean who the hell buys a kid a 5 grand watch. So guess who I'm blaming for part of this fiasco, Charlie has a nice little mess to clean up.

Awesome story. So glad these two found each other again, seems they were meant to be. I liked that Sean seemed to have a really close connection with his older sister Karen and that she was so supportive of her little brother. I'm especially surprised this was your first story, it was well written, damn fine job, well done.

Interesting looking story. Survived the math lesson where the limits of my attention span did actually reach zero. Though imagining how cute these guys might be did take me on a more pleasurable tangent. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

A touching story full of love and devotion with a very happy and well deserved outcome. I hope more people find and read this so they can enjoy it as much as I have. Thanks for the story, loved it from start to finish.

John is trying so hard to do the right thing and I don't blame him. Right now, any relationship would lack any real substance. Only as equals, both contributing to the relationship can it truly work long term. If John is not careful though, he may inadvertently push Jeremy away.
-
I hope they can make this work. They are two very special and loving people and they both deserve a HEA.
-
Jeremy is indeed very special and John will need all his strength and faith to resist. Beautiful chapter, wonderful story.
-
Agreed, it would have been so easy for John. Jeremy is offering the only thing he has of value, himself. As much as John wants to, he doesn't want to take advantage of the situation and I think Jeremy will appreciate and love him all the more for that. For now, Jeremy just needs a good friend, someone to show him the right kind of love and affection.
-
If Jeremy goes off with John, and if John is able to help him, I think he will be much better off than at that apartment. Seems John already has some plans i.e. social security, and psych meds which he probably needs but hasn't been taking due to having no money. It seems really cruel to have someone beat Jeremy then throw him out in the cold. Some people just don't deserve to share oxygen. Lovely chapter but a bit sad too.
-
Jeremy seems eager to help. It's unfortunate he is forced to sell himself on the street to make any kind of money. By the little touches and willingness to please he seems to crave affection, something that has probably been missing in his life for some time. I wonder what his health issues are about, in particular the mental hospital. I also wonder about his livivng arrangements. Why he would brave the cold in order to walk all the way to the shelter. This was a very nice feel good chapter.
-
John has a good heart and obviously cares enough about the people to get to know them. From their varied backgrounds we see that anyone can fall on hard times, it's all too easy to fall through the cracks. We should count our blessings every day and always be mindful of those less fortunate. Good start to what looks to be a heartwarming story.

That was an awesome story worthy of a sequel. Brilliant. So mant questions but will wait for the next book.Thank you for this incredible work, it was a joy to read.

ok well that was an interesting lesson on torture techniques....not. Evan is kind of scary, glad he's on our side. However, he needs to change. Alexi will never be content with this side of him. I think if Evan were to tell Sam that his father just wants him to pack up and leave, the family would be left alone. They could simply move away and start over, just without the drama and the criminal activities.
-
Evan needs to come clean, he was so close in the church. I have a dreadful feeling, hoping for the best though.
