I wonder how curious Mattel’s bride is and to whom she will pledge allegiance in her heart? Her father or her new husband? Gianluca will be upset at the news of an earlier wedding. Florence is facing a grave threat and for a place steeped in intrigue and betrayals it may not go as swimmingly as Lorenzo would like.

Matteo and Gianluca are a glaring example of ice and fire. Can their love survive their difference of opinion on what has just happened in Florence? And what becomes of the young cardinal?

I am enthralled. Masterful writing. I am very glad that Matteo spoke so strongly and the Rossi clan allied with the De Medici.

Another fascinating chapter in Florence. I’m resisting going back to the history of this as I am so enjoying being reminded of it bit by bit on the story. Beautiful descriptive writing.

A great historical context that will be filled with intrigue. A masterful piece of writing. I felt I was in Florence wondering the streets around the duomo. I loved this first chapter. Mattel has captured my attention for sure.

They really are fighting blind here. Perhaps when the three are together they will be able to cover all the angles and be victorious. Fingers crossed.

What a convoluted task George has. Political intrigue abounds both in Madrid and aboard the ship he is about to sail. Palomar will be a relief in the evenings I imagine and there will be some rowdy romping. George is an astute statesman and an excellent naval captain. He should ace this!

That was an amazing chapter! Now Sean needs Gabriel and perhaps Lonnie&Mike more than ever before. I am certain Gabriel et al will save the day but will there be a human cost? we got a poignant glimpse into a Gabriel’s childhood. Thank you for making him just a little more human, or at least letting us see it.

We get another few hours closer to the assassination attempt. Michael has become a skilled lover very quickly and DJ seems to lap it up.

Gabriel is certainly being well tracked by the mystery killer. That feeling that you know somebody but just can’t place them is super annoying.

This is the second volume in the Parker and Brody series. It follows the story of two military men who find one another and in doing so, discover the grounding frequency they have always sought. But finding is not the same as keeping, as so many of us know. A fabulous binge read that will cause laughter, tears and smiles. Highly recommend.

I’m not sure Brody died. It was never actually stated - just left for us to draw conclusions. Now here Brody is on the ship that Parker began his naval service on. it’s as though Parker’s scrubbed life and his desired life are coming together in some strange way that might just save the future he wants with Brody. Let’s see.

These two need to get a grip. Brody was a dick and Parker was an arsehole. I hope that when Brody gets home they can sort out this mess.l. One hell if a cliffhanger @Cap
