  1. Is there any doubt? 😂 One way or another Neil will be there.
  2. They are really moving on well now. Quiet kiss at the pub is a big move for Neil. Anne will come around. Evan is priceless, but an afternoon every week or second week would be enough for me. I had a mentor much like this and he was a godsend.

    Tag

Which of course is the right side 🥴😜

    Tag

As we suspected, Taggert, now known as Tag, has been sent packing by his family. I’m certain he was lashed as well, but was it by his grandfather, another relative or someone else linked to his family or the ranch? I’m glad James shared the info and that Taggert has accepted Ash knowing it.

    Telling Mum

I’m glad Neil came out to his mum. She will come around in time, nevertheless it is irritating and disappointing for Neil.

    The workshop

I loved the photo of Alex in Neil’s room. That felt real and filled with affection.
  7. That was a fun chapter to read. Charlie doesn’t quite realise he is in the tiger’s lair, but hey ho. Neil and Alex are coming along well.

    Open mic night

A brilliant chapter and they both needed to be a little courageous and get out their comfort zones. They did it and it’s working for them.
  9. Great progress made by both our guys! Loved it. Berk is a word used by English speaking South Africans as well. Was one of my father’s favourites.
  10. Yes. This makes sense to me. But as we all agree I think, an honest conversation about expectations, limits and a way forward or not, is definitely needed.
  11. This is a really tough situation. Neil is scared of being out and known as gay. I understand that. It is not uncommon. It’s also sad that he saw Liam and Alex together, despite it being a friendly snog, from Neil’s perspective it would have felt like a betrayal. on the other hand, Neil needs to stop running away from himself, his social group and mostly from speaking with Alex. This running away will not serve him at all.
  12. I certainly have had my mentor. A brilliant headmaster who mentored me as a young head and then became a dear friend. Even into his 80s he would quiz me about leadership and what we were doing about embedding good character into the pupils. Sadly, he died last summer. I totally understand the need for an Evan. As for Yelena and Bart, I’ve got my own quirky couple as well. Will be seeing them this summer. They are about 15 years older than me so in their early 79s now and thankfully as fit as fiddles. Met them when I was at university 40 years ago. They are invaluable!

    Dame Vivienne

Their being apart for a few days or weeks, who knows will be a test. Will Neil still want to stay on this track?
  14. The slow burn from exploration to relationship is moving ahead and it’s great to see it happening.

    Song and Sex

I loved that chapter, with the newness and exploring. Brilliant.

    Song and Sex

@camerio1 that is a lovely story and you’ve had many years together. What a privilege.
  17. Things are looking up for Alex and the dinner think is becoming a regular part of his life. As others have said, I’m hopeful that this re-imagined Werther will be a hit and the making of Alex.
  18. As @Daddydavek has said, friends who help with a move are definitely keepers. Offers to help move are offers we make hoping like hell that the offer is politely declined. Neil is therefore a keeper, with a nice bum.

    Uncle Edwin

Uncle Eddie really is a Dickensian character. Maudie fits right into this colourful cast. Loving it!
  20. Uncle Edwin sounds like a Dickensian character. Meeting him will be interesting, although meeting up with Neil again will be far more up my alley I suspect.
  21. What an intriguing start. Reckon I’m going to enjoy this! Neil sounds perfect 😝
  22. I really liked the longer chapter. I was delighted when I saw the word count. Lay here on my bed and read. Was great. I am delighted that August was able to fool his dad and hope that the story holds. What an opportunity for Fletcher and him. As for Rob, well he might have a second family to contend with and a pretty young wife can play havoc on an older husband’s will.
  23. Wow, this is convoluted. Jack, Vince and Theo are all in separate journeys of discovery while Whiteflame fights for its life - which is going to be a battle lost. The good news, however, is that there is a small window of opportunity for the pack to fight back - a piece of information that is both new and valuable. What exactly it is we do not yet know, but between our 3 guys, I’m sure it will be figured out . Perhaps with the help of a fairy wolf. A friendly tree and a wandering skeleton.

    What Horses Know

That was a great chapter. Informative, cheerful and revealing. Ash and Taggert are a good team and Taggert can sense what life around Ash could be like. I’m sure we will learn more about who Taggert is, how he came to be a “refugee” at the Nasser ranch and what treatment he has been subjected to at home. In the meantime our two guys become closer and that trust that Missy has given Taggert, he is now starting to pass on to Ash.
  25. A Wolf’s Skin is a well-told blend of history and fiction, though it is uncertain which part is the stranger! A great read to consume a quiet hour on a Sunday morning.
