Well this new club is going to be awful and the depraved who go there will be witnessing live unsimulated action. I'm very glad Otis has Hudson as his temporary, on probation to being a full-time boyfriend.

Yes @Headstall, Jubal is incredibly brave and a strong man. His love for Lucas and willingness to sacrifice his own life shows this. The emotional chaos he is experiencing is something that will only be resolved when Lucas reveals his love for Jubal. When that happens I want to be in the room!!

That was a difficult chapter to read. Jubal is anxious in crowded settings and then further anxious about revealing his feeling to either Reid or Lucas, and then finally afraid that he has been found out and it's not reciprocated. In short, Jubal is a big emotional mess. I can't wait for he and Lucas to have that conversation

Coward might be a bit harsh. I think Colin is a quiet bloke, who has hidden himself away, because of shame, fear, or uncertainty in the face of perceived social and religious expectations. I'm sure he will make the right decision, when he has a good reason to do so.

What a fantastic scene. Otis thinking he is a student and Hudson a teacher, while Hudson just wants Otis to be his. This could end beautifully.

Yay, they've crossed the line. But now, as @drsawzall suggests, they need to talk about expectations and behaviours. If they don't, they could be in for loads of misunderstandings and heartbreak.

Billy and Reid is a story I hope we can read one day too. An older man and a younger man together at a time when choice for homosexual men was extremely limited and very very dangerous.

A fantastic chapter, superbly crafted. As Jubal goes through the two days delivering everything that Lucas could wish for, he is at the same time exploring what he wants and how he feels. Jubal is certainly being careful but I am confident that when Lucas returns, they will understand each other very clearly.

Agreed. This is an outstanding example of layered, metaphorical writing. Jubal's work through those two days, building, repairing, rebuilding, removing all speak to his personal growth, building and rebuilding. I loved every word.

Asa will be fine. I'm certain that just when we need him, a slow-minded shifter in Huntingdpn's army will let through a slither of light and Asa will be out of there and as mad as a snake. The wait will be difficult for them both. Sebastian and the crew will be mulling things over and getting ready to do what is needed to defeat Huntingdon, get Asa back and secure the future of the world.

Another great chapter. I'm sure that if Owain and Mhairi dig a bit with the right solicitor they will uncover significantly more than the money they are inheriting. It will be interesting to see what the church and the dodgy lawyers got up to.
