Chapter 25: Eerie Employment
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 25: Eerie Employment
I love your comments, centex. Seeing Stacy invited to NY is a big step for her relationship with Dave. I thought it would be important for Tierney to get a reality check before he is off on his mission. -

I'm always happy to see your seal of approval, Patch! -
Let's just hope roseroot isn't addictive... Is Adam going to open up a dispensary? Like CaJu stated, I think we're getting to the end... Wonderful moments were included in this chapter, and they were beautifully worded, Grumpy!

Thank you so much, Mark! I'm glad you're enjoying the story. The next chapter's in the works, as well as a Cernunnos one. -
Chapter 25: Eerie Employment

What a wonderful analysis! Tierney was expecting mail from the EC, but not for it to be delivered inside his own home at 4am. With the shadow affinity's power, there's no doubt the EC is forced to use it. How else would they keep track of certain events and happenings? Our mages are growing stronger, one in a sense of magical power and the other in status. Kaplan's learning to speak his personal mind and not just his professional one. Stacy is one of my favorite characters. We get the ditziness on occasion, but she's mentally tough. I think she would be a fantastic wolf. Thanks for reading, Ajbt! I'm so excited for Cyrus' dance! Just so stinkin' excited! Thanks for reading, Cincy! Ty's introduction to the EC wasn't what he expected, but it seemed just about right once it happened. Thanks for reading, doc! There seems to be a high hope set for Stuerm's demise. I'm looking forward to reaching that point. Thanks, mikedup! -
His eyes opened. Tierney’s instinct woke him, forcing him to take in his surroundings. The bedroom appeared to have been untouched. Footsteps, just outside the front door. Silent as a mouse, he slid off the bed and retrieved the pistol from the nightstand. Flicking off the safety, he slowly approached the bedroom door. The steps are quiet. It’s almost as if… He heard a click. Immediately, he dove, expecting a round to come through the door. Nothing. Gripping the gun tight, he f

Reclaiming the Ancients
astone2292 commented on Grumpy Bear's story chapter in Reclaiming the Ancients
Perfect. This was perfect. Matthias and the Real Housewives. This comment needs nothing else. -
A whole day? I'm going to start thinking they'll need another cerops for Bouncer to play with. Do we continue the action next week? I sure do hope so.

I'm not the biggest horror fan, but this story kept my eyes glued to the screen. The pacing, characters, and setting captured my attention. This was scary all by itself, but with the MC being a victim of memory loss made this story intense! An excellent piece by a wonderful author. Highly recommend!

I loved this! A great take on Escape the Room games. This was full of edge-of-your-seat turns, and I about lost it when Justin started cackling.

The plot twist of the village people poisoning Axel and Adam was shocking. Matthias' explanation for his need of a good bickering lover is sound. Honestly, I expected more from Axel. No sack tap? A werebear-strength nipple pinch? Nevertheless, the threeway was incredibly hot. Great work, Grumpy!

Lots to be concerned about here. The confrontation between Axel and Matthias. How Matthias will act towards Axel. How Matthias will act towards Adam. Can Adam take Matthias' verbal crap? Will Axel be able to control himself if Matthias flies off the handle? As always, anxiously waiting. Fantastic job, Grumpy!

Readers, why do you read a story but not Comment?
astone2292 replied to Former Member's topic in The Lounge
I agree with @Ron's opinion on constructive feedback; send it through PM. When I want to offer it, I ask the author before giving it, along with a warning should my feedback be more critical. This type of feedback is necessary for an author to grow, and I've learned this firsthand. In the past several months, I've noticed my writing abilities surge, but it took several smacks on the fingies from an editor's red pen. Without the feedback I received, I would still be writing in a third-person omniscient POV after snorting a line of coke. On the subject of commenting, readers tend to comment more when they're following along an "In Progress" story, and I welcome this! I notice more reactions than comments on "Complete" stories, mostly since it's done and everything the new readers wants to say has already been said. If it's been pointed out that Character A has dumped Character B over petty nonsense, why mention it again... and again... and again? What I encourage is highlighting your favorite part of the chapter, regardless if it's a reiteration of another comment. This gives me, as an author, a sense of accomplishment and makes... whatever I did, a better tool in my arsenal to warp and reuse. Or you can be like me and have some fun by putting on "I'm Calling It" ball cap. Try to guess what's going to happen next! It's an absolute gas when the author sees my comment on a completed story and comments back, "Dude, you are so off, but that would be funny/dramatic/shocking." -
Tragic. I can't blame Lenny for his reaction. For Axel to be in such a funk and situation for so long... damn. You are one of the quicker writers I've seen, Grumpy. We all understand life is important. Please, take your time. ❤️

Welcome to GA, @SnowBear! I love handwritten stories! I've read a couple that my dad wrote back in his high school years, and since then, I've found most handwritten works are very well-told. Hopefully we'll be able to read them here one day.

First a broken heart, and now a broken soul? I thought Alexei had it rough, but I'm finding Axel had it worse. Bad events are coming up and unfortunately, I can't wait for the next chapter! Excellent storytelling, Grumpy!

Whoopsie-daisies! Missed the deadline by a few hours, but don't you worry! Ask An Author is here, and we got a story for you. Without further ado, let's get celestial! • • • • • The Lesser Evil ObicanDecko Edwin is a young shop owner living a quiet life in the kingdom of Wisian, but that peace is shattered when his best friend vanishes without a trace. Desperate for help, he meets a mysterious man offering his assistance - a seductive demon named Lothar. As attraction between the two men grows stronger every day, Edwin finds himself getting entangled in a conflict between demons and angels. Will Lothar be able to find Edwin’s friend in time, and what will be the price of his help? What was your inspiration for this rendition of the never-ending war between angels and demons? I particularly enjoyed the take on angels and their abuse of humanity to recruit in their favor. I play a lot of Diablo, which is a game about the "eternal conflict" between demons and angels, with humans stuck in the middle, so I wanted to try and write my own take on such a story. There was also another game where one of the characters was a demon who is trying to seduce the player, which inspired me to create Lothar. I wanted to put some of the focus on a love story between a human and a demon, and explore the whole "making a pact with the devil" trope, and how it inevitably has bad consequences. I'm glad you liked my take on angels - I wanted to avoid having the angels be the obvious "good guys". In this case, both sides are selfish and only in it for themselves, and don't care much about what happens to humanity. Mildburg is one of my favorite characters in this story. Her intelligence/power is something to behold, but I'm interested in the world's opinion. Did humanity naturally find this power, or did one of the two warring sides leave them at some point? Mildburg is one of my favorite characters too. Very intelligent, but mysterious. The origins of her and Sigrid's powers were left unsaid because I usually like to leave some things a mystery and let readers fill in the blanks with their own theories. But my headcanon is that people with such power are very rare and that they don't even know where it comes from. They are simply born with it. It could be from either angels or demons, or maybe some combination of the two. The chapter before the epilogue had me screaming! This outcome slapped me in the face. I should have seen it coming, but dang! What influenced you, as the author, for Edwin's decision? I'm sorry for springing such a big plot twist on you, especially at the end of the story! The rest of the story was quite dark, with big threats from several sides, so I knew it couldn't have a perfect happy ending. Maybe it could've been easy to have Edwin and Lothar end up "happily ever after", but I didn't want that. I wanted a more impactful ending, something that showed the sacrifices we sometimes have to make. Also, Edwin would never be able to let himself be happy while his little sister is suffering. He had to take that chance and help her. • • • • • Oh, jeez! I love a story with a plot-twist! I'll have to add this one to my reading list. Make sure to check out The Lesser Evil and @ObicanDecko's stories through the links above! If you just finished a story and want to learn more about it, shoot me a PM with three questions and I'll pester the author for you! I'll see y'all next month!

Samuel and Alexei's story is heartbreaking. He was justified in killing Samuel, but I'm not sure about the others. Seeing Samuel's ghost appear was shocking to say the least! This raises the question of, "What else exists in this universe?" There's ghosts, werecreatures... what's next? Vampires? Satyr? I'm interested!
-
The last paragraph is wild! The demeanor Axel has set so far with Samuel got derailed from what I see. To be reminiscent of this man from a lost time, then recall he was a little b!&$#... very interesting, and I'm eager for the next chapter.
-
Uh oh. Long, lost love? Dead or alive? A former cub? Dead or alive? Can't wait for more!!
-
Please... oh please, have the couple's recordings be found by the Council. Make it such a teasing moment when Axel and Adam get back. Axel's story continues to be filled with heartbreaking moments. I only hope that being rejected by Mattias is the lowest point in the story, but I know that's not likely. Great job, Grumpy!

Chapter 20: Introductory Interview
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 20: Introductory Interview
They're one of my favorite couples in my writings! There's a lot of options for Vincent's hand-to-hand training, but Ashford's a possibility. Ashford isn't one to rub in his victories, but he sure does love to win. -
Thank you so much, Onim!! I'm excited about this cliffie and what's going to come, and I can't wait to share it with y'all!

The Journey of 3000 Miles
astone2292 commented on Grumpy Bear's story chapter in The Journey of 3000 Miles
As Chris said, awesome chapter! Got to read it on my break and it brightened my day. While Axel's Old Man's treatment is harsh, it's a primary reason why Axel is who he is today. Do you know how hard I laughed at Elon Tusk? -
This chapter was full of stuff! Who could be a suitable replacement for Walter? What's going on between our rogue duo? And which one was it that surrendered? Tune in to find out! Small hooray for conscience? At least it's now than later, avoiding more unnecessary death. I'm not sure about a cheetah, but Orson might be able to compete. Bears and deer have a similar top running speed (around 35 mph). I'm excited for the new characters added. The foxes (Rel, Bree, Isabelle) might not be too active, but we'll definitely see a lot of Orson and the twins. Furs are a easily forgotten detail, so I've learned to use that as a tool for those who really pay attention in the story. Hearkening back to Chapter 8's last few paragraphs, the rogues were described by their coats when Shea was having Cyn point them out on his phone. Emeritus position? Have you been digging in my Google Drive again, doc? We got two cute couples, but I wonder what Arric said by him being overprotective... You know me, Patch. I love my cliffies! Hold your horses, you'll get some more in a week-ish. ❤️
