When a Compromise Is No Compromise At All
astone2292 commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in When a Compromise Is No Compromise At All
I'll play the peacemaker here. When this story ends, I'll make this Dirty Dr. Pepper... but I'm changing the recipe slightly. It's not necessarily coconut, but my liquor store has a key-lime rum cream that should work as a substitute. @Mrsgnomie's drink recipe is still intact (for the most part), and @kbois gets a non-coconut alcoholic beverage. Yea or nay?- 151 comments

When a Compromise Is No Compromise At All
astone2292 commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in When a Compromise Is No Compromise At All
I've never been so distraught! I binge this masterpiece of a story, and I'm met with this? I'm so proud of Jay. Stepping up to his parents and Loren. It's been bubbling, and after four years of dating, they've said I love you and have had sex more times than I can count. That's it. Nothing more, really. If Loren hasn't come to realization Jay is the one... I completely support Jay for whatever happens. I'd even endorse him pulling a Tom Brady and coming out of retirement. Loren has some serious work to do. Both sides need to compromise, and Loren now knows the score.- 151 comments

My heart goes out to the twins, particularly for Lars. The only reason I can imagine the parents left Loren was financials. Considering they came for Loren after he was finding success, I find this the only reasonable solution. They simply couldn't hack having the second child in the checkbook. Lars is holding back something. What though...

Baby spud incoming! Go, go, go!!! I gotta say, reading your stories is preventing me from getting any writing done... -
Such a cute story! Oooooooh, it was so cute! Thanks for sharing, Patch.

Both, actually. I flew the coop for college, moved 45 minutes away to a decent size town in midwestern Kentucky. (Relating to Jay's relationship with his parents) Momma has been upset since day one about her only baby bird leaving, and has been distraught since I married. Her hopes of me buying a plot of land across the street from her has been dee-stroyed. Before my current job at a liquor store, I worked 3rd shift stocking a grocery store, so I still operate on vampire hours. It's a peaceful life: no noise pollution from cars and people, you're not as tempted to eat fast food since nothings open at 3am, and Internet speeds are faster at night/morning.

Never. Absolutely never. Raised in backwoods southern Indiana, my parents never locked a dang thing during my entire childhood. Neither did relatives, so we would waltz in willy nilly. It always felt wrong. Noah and I lock everything, even the house when we're inside. The day I give my parents a key to my apartment will be a cold day in hell. We value our peace of mind too much. Lovely chapter. Will continue the binge at some point in the afternoon

Binge, binge, bingeing! Also, jeez-ums! 5.2 pages of comments. If your comment section wasn't the funniest thing on this site... Next chapter, AHOY! -

The Golden Chil Syndrome will not last long while Loren's around. This will be a major speedbump, and I can smell the drama cookin'. Even if Jay laid ground rules to the fam about talking to Loren about his family, Loren saw a side that should effected him more. Jay is the child getting all the attention, which is what happened to Lars during Loren childhood. I smell a bomb...

Chapter 17: Destined Detectives
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Destined Detectives
I had to! I had to sit and think where all my characters were. Hey now, I'm a fair literary drug dealer. Y'all get your dosage every week -
Nose-pickers dont just stand. They also drive, and don't move up when it's their turn to order at the menu. They're just sittin' there pickin'. Mmmmm bacon. There are some times that require you to nose-pick yourself. Just make sure you're aware of others if they need to get around you, or need product that's behind you. In fairness, there's a lot of yogurt out there. I'm pretty sure Yoplait can take up a whole 8ft section plus some of they wanted. Liquor drive-throughs are illegal in some states, just as selling cold beer, and not keeping the bottle in a bag. Good ol' Kentucky though; we do it all! C'mon in the fast lane, get a cold 30pack of beer, and I'll struggle with you trying to fit the damned thing in the window of a Dodge Charger while I'm dangling out of the store's window. Honest to God, I've had my coworkers hold my ankles so many times because people park half a football field away... I also sympathize with the customers. I work at a small, Mom and Pop-esque store. We don't have space for all of the new products coming on the market. Our walk-in cooler is the size of a small storage unit, so with a new seltzer coming in every week, it's getting cramped. I sympathize a lot when I have to tell a customer we don't have the space to order and carry rainbow sherbert-flavored vodka (it's a thing). So when we're out of stock or don't carry it, I do my best to accommodate and recommend similar products to help aid the customer's decision. Oh, the Walmart family reunions! Stores should really create designated areas for these. They're all too frequent and bothersome. Sep... Separate orders. You know, fast food wouldn't hate this concept if the big-wigs would add a button for this on our kiosks. Sadly, they're smart enough to know the workers would abuse it. One car in drive-thru means one order. All separate orders in the same vehicle must be taken, created, bagged, and handed out in two minutes total... period.

Played like a blitz on third down

I have a tendency to hate certain characters. So when Sven's name came up and... I immediately think, "What does this crusty cock goblin want?" After begrudgingly reading about my least favorite character in this story, I see a redemption arc... But I also see a spiraling rabbit hole. Maybe... Just mayyyyyyybe he's working with Lars on some sort of crazy plan. He automatically goes to this conclusion: Oh, Sven's in on it. I'd bet my "I'm Callin' It" ball cap. -
Enjoying the here and now
astone2292 commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Enjoying the here and now
Thank God, I needed my Aido-potato fix. Literally, Aido playing in the potatoes. Comedy at its finest. Oooooooooooooooooohhh!!!! Loren thought about the L word!!!!!!! AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! $5 says Loren says it first. -
Yes. There are little sensors along key points in a drive-through lane (menu, 1st window, 2nd window, and just past the 2nd window) that calculates how long a vehicle has been waiting. The moment you pull in front of that menu, the heat is on for the workers. Next time you go to a fast food joint, try to look for monitors up high with timers around the last windows station. A cheat around it is during lulls, employees will start doing laps in the drive-through, drastically lowering the average order time. Although, it's easily catchable should some high-up schmuck check cameras or see if there are times like 30 seconds from menu to order completed.

Before I get into my comment, can I say I instantly thought of a hashtag for when Jay steals livingtheloelife for a day. Jay videos Loe's grumpy moods and calls it #woeisloe *** Onto my comment. @Mrsgnomie, I need you to know my take on the Lifetime award. The elephant video with the four kids was cute, and I genuinely thought it was a simple analogy or storytelling on the history of influencers. The moment I saw Loe's table on what I assumed to be a live-feed, and realized those four kiddos were Loe, Isaac, Cole, and Corey... that was the most sobering moment I've ever read. My heart was like an actor who was late getting on stage ("Oh, I'm supposed to be out there? Oh, crap!"). Time froze, and it took a few seconds too long for my heart to warm up and appreciate the magnitude of the moment. I can't imagine the thoughts running through the other minds at that table. You effectively ripped a curtain off from Jay's, and this reader's eyelids. I knew Loe was a big name in this world, but to place him as one of the first inhabitants of YouTube and videos on the internet. Spectacular! This is my favorite moment in your stories, and it's going to take a lot to change it.

Nose-pickers. These people irritate me. Not the actual nose-pickers of the world. By all means, go where man shouldn’t go. It’s just another nasty habit, like smoking cigarettes and wearing flip-flops with unmanicured toes. People do it for a reason, so don’t judge. I can see the benefit of picking one’s nose. Clears out the nasal passages. Hmm? Right, my definition of a nose-picker. I’m talking about the people who do things without the general awareness of others around them. If you

LMAO! Vincent and Mason acting as gay sex advisors. Priceless! Hmm, is Dirk accepting fate, or is it denial? Hard to tell from his POV... Lots of power indeed. The only question is whether Stefan will strike again. Is this a hint from the author? I wouldn't read too much into it . Glad I could take you away for a moment, Patch. Everyone needs a good escape once in a while. *gasp* Dirk/Ingle competes against Cy/Kap for you?! I refuse to believe it. -

I'm so giddy with excitement to write the next chapter. Indeed. Why has Aliz done this? Maybe Vincent can ask and find out. This might have been my favorite chapter to write. It was so much fun! Dirk and Ingle were too good of a bromance, and I can't wait to find out who's going to be playing catcher and pitcher. Hmm, now we're throwing Terik's name in the picture. Very interesting. Keep spinning theories, y'all! One's bound to stick. -
