This chapter made me go smoke a cigarette.

    Aidan vs. Matt

My reaction says it all. I feel for Matt. The next two weeks are going to be absolute hell.
  4. @kbois The store I work at sells moonshine pickles... and peaches.. and cherries... and soon pina colada pineapple chunks. Ooof. Seamus wearing football regalia. Shower... I need a cold shower!
  5. Dr. Pepper, coconut creamer, and lime juice... It needs rum. My all-time favorite drink is Dr. Pepper and peppermint schnapps (Dr. Peppermints). It's just perfect. Jay's reappearance was a delight. His friendly relationship with Matt is hilarious.
  6. Oh, Vincent's okay. He needs to learn what pain feels like. He's only fought Dirk, so getting zapped seems appropriate. Thanks for commenting, SR!!

    Party Balloon

I frequently use this GIF, so seeing this here made me giggle. This whole chapter made me go
  8. As much as I love Operation Butter Biscuit, I couldn't stop giggling. Too resemblant of my favorite line from Letterkenny. Mike! Get 👏 this 👏 man 👏 arrested! $20k a month?! Two months of that and my student debt would be eradicated! When that dink's plane lands home, I hope Seamus is standing with the police waiting...
  9. The information involving Kelly and Seamus is heartbreaking. It was about time we allowed these two to open up. Now we can see some progress in the relationship! But first, Matt gets to play accountant! I love when a character mentions their study/career (future career in this case), and the plot makes an unexpected turn, forcing said character to jump into action. Matt might become a CFO to Seamus' business(es). NCIS: Financial! Please, oh please, there better be a Gibbs smack...

    Summer

Having a Mat and a Matt confused me for a hot second, but I'm happy with this group of friends. They're able to talk some sense into Matt. It won't be long until Matt takes Aidan back to see Moose. Time for some fatherly advice! Can't wait!
  11. It was so much fun creating a wild plan for the hunters. Let's take the least combative person on the team and make them fight Ashford. It was either this or an all-out assault, and that could've been too high concept. If there's ever going to be fan art, Cy and Kap in front of the fireplace should be top of the priority list. With so many side characters, even I get confused sometimes. When I started this trilogy, I never anticipated it to be a trilogy nor to have so many damned characters! So much for keeping things simple. Kaplan's courtroom side is so much fun! Like Cyrus' serious side, it's a flip of the switch. I was worried what you'd think of this chapter, considering I made Kaplan a punching bag. Glad to see I'm not subject to your lightning emojis, Patch. Love this analysis. Simply love it. When creating the teams, I needed balance in a few different ways. I couldn't have every member of the offense be a repeat character (hence Reina, Vivian, Barahona, Shore), and the offense needed to be strong enough to take on 190+ others while being challenged to grab the flag. I think Kaplan and Vincent are going to be the stars of this year's summit. Their mates should reward them when they get home. 😈 I'm sure Vincent is fine. Probably some scorch marks from being shocked by Remis, but otherwise fine. Same goes with Mason and Caleb, although our resident lion got a nasty scratch. I think Cyrus was more concerned with Kaplan's well being. I admit, the lightning affinity is difficult to play with in my imagination. It moves fast and it's powerful. So far in this trilogy, we've seen Cy's orb attack back when Vincent went feral, everything from Cy's dance, and Remis and Cy creating an electrical field that shocks all who touch it. I find the fire affinity unimpressive. Fireballs... and if they're mad enough, lava. So far, it's nothing but destruction. Maybe Tierney has some secrets for Dirk to learn. Hehe, time for everyone to get busy in their cabines...
  12. Oooooooh! The moment the dealership was mentioned, I knew Matt was getting a set of wheels! I'm betting Seamus is lying and he already bought the vehicle for Matt...
  13. Thanks, JACC. Having set the teams and the defenses strategy, there weren't many theories to play with where the hunting team could win. When I originally wrote the last chapter, I had just Demers, Drego, and Vincent -v- the rest. So glad I went with the team of ten! Hey, when Drego and Kaplan can't come up with anything better... At least Kap was ready to take one for the team. "Need to distract my mate? Okay. I'm gonna go fight the seven foot tall monster with a demonic voice." @centexhairysub, would you mind letting me know where the flow issues are for you? I have a note sheet for the eventual edits once this book is complete, and I'd love your opinion. Either here or through PM is fine . Thanks so much for reading!
  14. I've been bouncing this issue around in my head for several hours now. The last year's of Matt's childhood. I've seen some comments about how Matt needs to grow up, and I agree partially since he is Aidan's guardian. But the last year of his life, the beginning of his twenties... He deserves the opportunity to let loose a bit. Personally, I've learned this recently in my late twenties. I was raised by parents who believed working was the most important thing you need to do in life. I started when I was eleven. It's taken my husband dragging (literally, not figuratively) me on vacations and seeing friends for me to understand that I am allowed to have fun. Matt's argument for having his own life is valid. Let him go home for the summer. Let him have a drink or eight. With this, Seamus can still be supportive. Go see Matt and the potato during the summer. Soapbox aside, I'm in the same boat at Matt. Someone talks sports, and I hear a whoopee cushion in my head and go find something more entertaining. I can watch it (preferably American football, mostly for the defensive linemen....), but when someone starts spouting what person on which team scored so many points in what year... <fart noise>.
  15. Vincent returned to his seat on the support beam. His wolf debated with him about the situation. This isn’t ideal. No. Big fight. Yeah, with all of our friends plus a few randoms. I bet they’re mages. The five that left late are patrolling the other entrances to the building. I can probably take them out quickly, but it’s Cyrus and Remis I’m worried about. They’ll spot me the second I get too close. Go fast? Uh-uh! They got something up their sleeve. They tossed their phones
  16. Both of these guys need to park it and talk about their intentions, then explain them. I just want to throttle Matt's neck for being oblivious, but same goes for Seamus; he's ready to go balls-deep in the white-picket fenced home living without asking what Matt actually wants. He practically thinks they're husband's already. Are we getting them a therapist? Sounds like a great time for one.
  17. Forget the steaks. Matt's about to get a slab of USDA Certified of sexy beef! I wonder if Hilary and Kase got out unscathed. Did Hilary have to beat the wolves off Kase with a stick? If something happened to Kase and Matt didn't go back and save him...
  18. Reading all of the comments was the most difficult thing I've ever done, considering I saw what the next chapter is titled. I applaud you, Mrs. G! I was giggling the entire time... It never occurred to me Matt should see a therapist. Maybe the therapist can reveal why he's been ready for any change while being so oblivious to Seamus' infatuation. Side note, I am having the hardest time with autocorrect and these stinkin' comments. My phone remembers I wrote a whole story with a character named Sheamus with an H. Bahblerghpff!!!
  19. A slowplosion? I like it, and I'm taking notes...
  20. It might be me reading this chapter at work, but I'm crediting the author. Matt's drunken scene was written beautifully. It was so well written, the flow mimicked as if the reader was there and drunk with Matt. The emotions expressed were spot on. Sensitivity and jealousy of Seamus and Jay's interaction was perfect. Off to reread this chapter, then move to the next!
  21. Much like raven1, I'm prepping the popcorn for the eventually implosion. Or the "Ah-ha!" moment when Matt realizes, or assumes, Seamus is into him. I believe we'll see Matt thinking the business man is providing a pity-party of sorts, causing said implosion. Forget carpets and drapes. The vomit has to match the leather! Very funny.
  22. Uh oh. Is the title of the story going to be said in the next chapter? Me thinks so... I'm rather surprised at Matt here. Seamus was an hour late in bringing back Aidan. If I were a parent, that warrants an proper chewing if there was no phone call or proper explanation. Instead, he instinctively knew Aidan was safe. Very interesting. Seamus is one smart cookie. He's giving Matt a semi-silent treatment. Only talking about necessary things, and not being pushy. His ability to pop out of nowhere is impressive. The ovaries conversation was 10/10, absolutely drop-dead hilarious! I'm thoroughly entertained. I see myself reading more of your stories in the near future.
  23. It's obvious how this story has 90 recommendations. What a plot! What characters! My heart actually plummeted when the police officer showed up at the door, then it took a nosedive when we learn of her fate. Oooooooh weeeee!! If it wasn't way past my bedtime, I'd binge this whole dang thing! My toesies are tingling for more Aidopotato, and maybe another tantrum for Seamus' sign-related blindness. Matt, let 👏 him 👏 have 👏 it!

    Chapter 89

The Kardoval's appearance and response was as planned. My concern is the projection to other Galactic planets. If, and mind you this is a rather big if, one were to construe that Garjah was the only member of the Kardoval to approve this treaty from this broadcast, then would this create issues with the Galactic? One out of, what? Four, five other leaders who didn't get a say in this matter of joining a Galactic Union? Eh, that's just me going down a rabbit hole... I've been convinced for a hot minute Bouncer has something up his sleeves, and Ases might find out first. I honestly can't tell where the story will go. There's no obvious path! There could be an attempt on Ases' life, or perhaps Essell in order to emotionally destroy Garjah (I'm getting some Hypnotic final scenes from the Carthera Tales vibes from this... ), but I'm not putting anything past Cia. Excellent work! Been suckered in since chapter one, and I'll remain suckered.
