Chapter 19: Lowe's Lair
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 19: Lowe's Lair
Noah and I do plan on adopting at some point. We need to get our lives in order before that though. We're aware of the need for parents out there, and the struggles it takes to become parents. It truly is sad to see the requirements, but those are the standards set. Don't worry, we'll have our own Lowe at some point. ❤ -
Holy crap, I'm late! Well, not late late. I don't think Noah and I are ready for that kind of commitment. Maybe in a few years. Ooooooooooh, if Renee sees how late this is, I'm sure she'd throw something at me. Enough rambling; got's to get right into the interview! We have a wonderful and exciting story by an equally awesome author. @kbois I promise a bottle of your favorite stuff is on the way! • • • • • Spirit Wolves kbois 27 Chapters / 125,766 Words / Rating: Mature / Status: Complete How does a simple, low key life get turned upside down? Easy. Mix up six shifters, missing pups, three packs, a few bad guys, some messed up family dynamics, and maybe a cliffhanger (or two?) That's how. What made you want to write about Lycans? I've been fascinated with this type of fiction since I was a kid. I got my first library card when I was 5. One of the first books I checked out was The Five Chinese Brothers, which features each brother having a supernatural ability. I honestly don't remember my first shifter story, but I've been hooked on the unconventional ever since. Also, shifters are pretty damn sexy. How did you decide to create your own version of this world and was it easy? The idea for Spirit Wolves started when I was writing A Tattoo for Lex. Ideas often strike my brain when I walk my dogs at night. That's what happened in this case. It actually started as two separate story lines, Reilly's and Ben’s. For whatever reason, my writing muse made me merge them. Oftentimes it gets weird inside my head, but I'm fortunate that the weirdness occasionally morphs into story ideas. Was it easy? Absolutely not. I got about eight chapters written and then bam! The idea well dried up. So I set it aside for a little over two years. After When Opportunity Knocks wrapped up, I dusted it off and sort of pushed some ideas out there to see what would stick. How did you come up with the Sentinels, especially as two of them weren't Lycans? The Sentinels didn't come about until I revisited the story. I knew I needed a good reason to combine Reilly's story and Ben's. Saving the shifter world seemed to be as good a reason as any. If you're going to save the world you need some superheroes. Ben is the only one not born Lycan and his and Zev’s role will be expanded on later. Which brings us to….. Do you have any more books planned in this series? That would would a most definitive and resounding yes! Spirit Wolves is the first of a three part series. I'm currently finishing up the second story which focuses more on finding the hybrid pups that are missing. Posting is right around the corner. I really think the reason it took me over two years to finish Spirit Wolves is because these other two ideas were inside of me, just not quite ready to come out. Now everything makes more sense to me inside my noggin as I can weave the random ideas into the story plots. • • • • • Done! Did it! Posted! Auughhh!!! I'll be putting a repeating reminder in my phone to get this done before the deadline for next month's edition. Well, I thank everyone for your patience, especially @kbois's and @Cia's. On another note, we're out of AAA articles! Don't be an Aaron. Send those questions. Promote your favorite authors!

Chapter 18: First Fling

It does feel nice to write some downtime. I think I need an official @Patch1 couples ranking. Just for research's sake. Let's see we got: Vin/Mace, Dave/Stacy, Caleb/Tasha, Tierney/Morrine, Kap/Cy, Lei/Elaine, Dirk/Ingle. -

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! I can't stop smiling! The cuteness is off the scale! -
Interesting. The mystery for what Boone's plans are fascinating. He wants to leave Coy to allow the youngin' to become his own man, but also because he doesn't see a future as well. Perhaps Boone should stick around to show Coy how to be a man.

Very interesting start. Having watched western shows growing up, I always appreciated the hard life in those times. It's not my typical genre, but I'm also easy to sucker. Time for a binge!

Should I be making a list for a series? So far, I got a deer, one of your listed birds, a horse, and now a goose. Previous comments from other stories have also included oxen, pigs, and moles. I feel like this is the next Warriors series by Erin Hunter/Dan Jolley. -

I have yet to find further research on actual wolves and bears doing the nasty... that, and I'll probably steer clear from writing about animals doing said nasty. Nevertheless, I'm sure those two will create many stories for our cast of friends to tell *cough* Book three. Just kidding. -

Hmm. I probably should've put a sexual activity warning in the header... Nah! It's more fun this way. -

It's in the bank, and that's already a mile long! Just finished up the second chapter to the Cernunnos sequel, Corvidae, and the first chapter of a side project, Tales of Inanimate Objects. But I'll keep my mind on this here paranormal western. -

I should have saved Dirk and Ingle's new relationship for a whole story. They're so much fun to write for! Perks of being a fire mage. They can't get burned. Goodbye, oven mitts! I actually forgot about her. Whoopsy daisies! My mind's been on other things further down the storyline... Same! Maybe I'll keep it that way. Nevermind, Vincent starts his job soon Well, they are made for each other. Great minds think alike. They just need to figure out who's honey pot is getting wrecked first. It's a comin'! Hold yer horses. Omg... A paranormal western. Horses! That's going in the to-write bank...- 33 comments

Okay. I have had two hours to think about this. It's big. It flies. And it's quick. His name is Tiryrth. Sounds like something from Lord of the Rings. My nose has been in my own stories. Too literal. I've written about deer and panda shifters, so I needed to go outside the box. We're going big. Big big. Grandpa better get ready for flying lessons, 'cuz either pterodactyls never went extinct, Big Bird from Sesame Street went on a vacation to the forest, or...

This leads me to believe it's a bird of some sort. If it's not an eagle or falcon, then maybe a hawk? Owl? It can't be Simba. He was never quick to catch on to stuff...

This isn't helpful! Now I have a dozen tabs open on my phone trying to research.

Chapter 18: First Fling

Which one? Both shave their heads. Are you talking about Pooh Bear or Little Spoon? Humor is an emotional defense mechanism. If Aliz destined me to be with a lady, I'd be nagging about cooties all day long. I forkin' love this new couple. The snarky comebacks just come so easily. Me too!- 33 comments

Hmm. Tiryrth brought Grandpa to his home in the mountains. My go-to response is either a bear or goat (favoring the goat, because a relationship with a wolf would be hilarious). Regardless, I'm going with my gut: Eagle/falcon/bird.

I loved this! I wasn't familiar with Sonnet #44, but after reading the poem, then the story again, it was a beautiful interpretation.

This was such a delight! Pesky grandkids, learning naughty words at such a young age. I agree with Val. I'd love to hear more of this story.

Being led up the stairs, Dirk was eye-level with Ingle’s butt. It swayed hypnotically with every step. There was even a faint jiggle. The bear wanted nothing more than to rip the lycan’s clothes off. No, too soon. But want! I know, but I want equal give and take with this. At the landing, they pivoted to the right. Ingle opened a door, and Dirk’s nose was blasted once more. Oh, hell… Despite the made bed and spotless furniture, the room smelled lived in. The carpet, the walls, an

Oooooooooh!! I dig this one! I'll keep this in my prompt bank. @Valkyrie, Oh boy! My fursona suit came in just in time for the convention. Let's hope people know what a jackalope is... @Aditus, You're telling your grandchildren the story of how you found the love of your life running through the woods. Tell the tale. (Hint, hint. That tale might be a wolf's tail...) @Cole Matthews, Turn your favorite sonnet into a 1,000 or less word story.

Man, I think this could be a V8 commercial. Loren sending flowers. Loren trying to seduce Jay again. Loren showing up with a UHaul. Seamus not scolding Loren? Interesting choice, Mrs. Author. I'm gonna need Seamus and Matt to explain their sussiness once Loren makes his big move.

This was such a delight. Upon first glance, there wasn't a lot of progress in this chapter. Then I read it again. It unfolded like setting up a game of Clue. I have my cards, my cluesheet, and I'm ready to make a wild accusation or two. The first group of suspects are the Kardoval, for obvious reasons. Mereval is super antsy, both about wanting Seedrah to head this investigation and, after asking that, proceeds to be a four-armed Karen about Garjah not having already completed said investigation before the attack happened. Then, and hold onto something, there's Ases. I've been quite a fan of the new cast member, but this chapter did not sit right with me. His wording on a few lines leads me to believe he's not sharing some information, or has been corrupted in his short time with the Kardoval. I'm sorry, but if you're an ambassador to such an impressive Galactic Union, I'd imagine you would know your mech assistants capabilities. Also, This was also very un-ambassadorlike. Pointing fingers like a politician while on a new planet? Ases' only saving grace from the "I'm Callin' It" cap is Garjah saying, This implies it is old Nejeeh'al technology, something Ases would know nothing about.
