Chapter 11: Beginning Brawl
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 11: Beginning Brawl
Thank you so much! I certainly tried to create the scene. Not sure when the gang's going to assemble, but it'll be neat to see the magical Avengers. Smackdown? You ain't gettin' no spoilers from me... -
Chapter 9: Occupational Opportunity
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 9: Occupational Opportunity
I knew you'd go nuts over Cyrus' little "surprise" for Kaplan. Now let's see if the beta can handle topping an alpha... Save yourself a cold shower for next week. It's 'bout to get steamy! -
Originally from a small town of 3,500 in Southern Indiana. A literal Mayberry from The Andy Griffith Show. I would not be surprised if there's a kid walking around with a propeller hat at this moment. There's an unspoken dress-code to wear clothes with the town's name and logos 24/7. I've seen go-kart engine-equipped lawn mowers riding in the streets. Enough poking fun. The LGBTQ community was nonexistent when I lived there. You either kept it hidden, or you were a perverted fornicator. In recent years, the town's made a complete one-eighty. The high school has a pride club, and the newly elected mayor is LGBTQ. Even the people are changing their behavior. Some of my teachers were fire and brimstone Catholic, and when I bartended for this year's festival, they congratulated me and my husband on our marriage. Now we're in a Western Kentucky city of 50,000. Much more accepting, surprisingly. Much less Bible-belty, even more surprisingly. Kentucky has been a breath of fresh air. It's a state often overlooked, but my husband and I feel safe here.

Chapter 9: Occupational Opportunity
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 9: Occupational Opportunity
If there's one thing a couple should have, it's great communication. Because in my findings, it usually leads to great sex, which also is good for the relationship. I've thought about this for many chapters now. I believe Vincent has the tools to fight Stefan. The question is whether he's familiar enough with said tools. I'm sure Vincent will learn to handle taking orders. He did well with submitting to Mason in the bedroom after his wolf was born... Ahhh, a distraction. Reading between the lines, eh doc? Dirk will have plenty to keep busy with. I'm not sure what it is, but I love it when I get the willies writing for Serious Cyrus. We don't see it often, but when he comes out... Ooof, I need a fan, and a drink. Just wait until I create a multiverse in this series. There was a comment somewhere regarding if there were to be a Zombies in the Shadows, and I've been giving it some serious thought. Fair warning: if I do it, I'm turning everything and everyone upside-down. It would be a pretty big "What If?" story. Now I'm questioning the orders Cyrus went through in his EC days. To use an example such as a drug lord's bodyguard hitting a civilian... Thanks for commenting, everyone! I'll try to have another chapter next week. -
Chapter 9: Seraphic Stunt
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 9: Seraphic Stunt
I love the slow burning build-up in Cy and Kap's relationship, even more so the ursus' marking location. It's both slightly and vastly different from the lycan's choice along the side of the neck. While I do enjoy a good bully comeuppance, I can't help but remind myself during that moment of the typical bully upbringing. Something happened in their childhood for them to act that way. That being said... Wagner needs a stern take-down. -
Chapter 8: Inquisitive Individual
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 8: Inquisitive Individual
Drego's an all right guy. He just likes to know anything and everything. He truly believes knowledge is power. Hmm. Wagner and the mysterious alpha. An interesting combination... -
Chapter 9: Occupational Opportunity

I may have started this story with Vincent and Mason, but Cyrus and Kaplan stole my little author heart. Let's hope Kap can handle Cy's new "desire."- 19 comments

I'm feeling very mischievous regarding #38... I might have something lined up before Easter.

Clutching his keys, Dirk headed for his truck. Sleepy. Tierney taking away my magic energy must’ve caused it. Either that, or my bear leaving. Man, this sucks! Can’t eat as much, can’t hear, see, smell or taste as well. And then Vincent drops that damned bomb-shell! He’s been the celestial puppet for the past few months and now Aliz hits him up. Tells me to be patient. For what? Recalling the debate with the alphas and Ingle, they tried to deduce what the goddess of destiny meant. Be patien

Chapter 5: Cyrus' Scourging
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 5: Cyrus' Scourging
You described your evaluation of the chapter well. I wanted to make this moment special. One of my characters was tortured, which created scars that he's ashamed of. Now Cy is sharing it with someone he holds dear. I completely understood your prior comment and your meaning with the angry reaction. I assume 90% of them across GA stories are based off the plot. -
Ah, the first week of April! A fresh rain. Blooming flowers. The head-jerking reaction you'll have when a bee flies too close to your face. No? Huh. Guess that's just me then! I've never cared for bees, if I'm being honest. The memory of stepping on one barefoot when I was little is forever imprinted in my brain, and I've been careful to never get stung by one again. That, and the husband's allergic. Anyway, on to more important details. It's the first Wednesday of the month, so let's Ask An Author! Coming from @LittleCherryBlossom26, we have Live, Love, Lose. • • • • • Live, Love, Lose LittleCherryBlossom26 58 Chapters / 137,372 Words / Rating: Mature / Status: Complete April 1940, Denmark. Karl Nielsen is a 17-year-old boy who has been helping his parents at the familial farm from an early age on a small island on the west coast of Denmark. However, his life shatters the day when Germans invade Denmark and arrive where they live. His father still manages to send him on a boat for England before the Nazis can take him away. In a country he has never been to before, he will have to survive on his own right in the middle of the madness of the war. Will he manage to make it through despite all the hardships he will have to face? Well, read to find out. What inspired you to write about WWII and Karl's experience in a foreign country? Well, as far as I can remember, I’ve always had a keen interest in history (that was my favourite subject in highschool!) and world wars, especially world war II, are such an important part of our human history, so I thought to myself before starting to write: if I have to write about anything first, it should be historical fiction. All of us have at least or several relatives who took part in these world wars, relatives who were ready to risk what they had to fight for their beliefs and ideals. When I was younger, my grandmother used to tell me and my brother about her childhood during World War II (she was only eight when it started), so this alone contributed a lot to making me write about this period in history. Yet, I’ve chosen to write about a seventeen-year-old Danish boy who found shelter in England, and not about a fictional character living in Occupied France as I could have, or maybe should. Why then? Well, I think this is a facet that had never really been explored before; citizens living in annexed countries like Denmark, their daily life; hence the difficulty to make research about this aspect in particular. So of course, this could only pique my interest (there is also the fact that since highschool I’ve had an earnest interest in Nordic countries as well, though I don’t really know where it comes from; it’s like a magnet pulling me towards their culture and civilisation.) I’ve found this really interesting to explore exile in such a way, finding yourself penniless in a foreign country where you know no one or the language spoken there. How you have to realise you must grow up since you are not safe anymore in your familial environment and have no choice but fend for yourself on your own if you want to survive. Then how family doesn’t necessarily mean you must be tied by blood to consider people as your family. Most war stories I know (when I say this I’m thinking especially about movies) are about war itself, the fighting and its terrible consequences, so I think this is important to be immersed in the civilians’ life who, of course, didn’t meet the same difficulties, hence the second part being more about the fighting to then show the discrepancy between two different visions of war. Was it difficult emotionally [to write this story]? Yes, of course, it was! Terribly difficult! It was a roller coaster of ups and downs and a real challenge given this was my first story and not the easiest subject to write about! I kept repeating to myself I should have chosen something much lighter to write about, but then in the end I don’t regret writing this story at all. I mean I can be proud that this is my first story ever because despite the many difficulties, it was really worth it!!! Since this is your first novel, are you planning to revise it, or leave it as a benchmark to show where you started as a writer? Well…This is a very good question! I’ve been hesitating about these two choices for so long now! I mean, as this is my first story ever, this would be interesting to leave it as it is with the minimum editing needed as a benchmark to then show how my writing progresses with the years. Yet a part of me just wants it to be perfect since this is my first story! How contradictory, I know! So I guess I will just need some more time to think about it. Perhaps once I have finished the whole series I might be finally able to decide which is best! Overall, how do you feel about the success of your first story? If there is one answer I should provide for this one; I think I simply still can’t really realise it was read and appreciated by lots of people! This just sounds so incredible to me! By the way, never had I thought I would be featured in this blog! So a big thanks to the reader who asked me these questions! I really enjoyed answering them Besides, I really want to thank all of my readers once again for all the support and constructive comments. You guys rock! • • • • • How exciting! A historical fiction, and it's the author's first story? Awesome job, @LittleCherryBlossom26! This is one genre I don't believe I could write for. While history was one of my preferred subjects in school, I didn't retain enough information to create a plot confidently. Much respect to the historical authors on GA! If you enjoyed this edition of Ask An Author 3.0, then listen closely, folks. This was the last submission in the piggy-bank. I'm going to need a few more soon, or the first Wednesday of the month will be dryer than a fart. Take a quick second to think about your favorite story on Gay Authors. Now, take another couple to think about three questions you'd love to ask the author. Then send me a PM with the story title, the author's name, and the three questions. Until next month, have a good'n!

It's hilarious for me. I have to reread the chapter so I don't drop spoilers! -
Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge

I do need them! I don't have much time for cooking, so my only made from scratch recipes are Mac & Cheese and cheese-stuffed meatloaf. Although, I've recently fallen in love with the brownie in a coffee mug mixes. I'm a simple human with simple fascinations. -
April CSR Feature: Corporate Galactic by astone2292
astone2292 commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I just screeched! What a surprise! I'm super excited to see what everyone thinks. Also, I feel like I'm peeking behind a theater curtain. Is there a CSR for Dummies? Not 100% certain what this blog entails. Regardless, I'm still excited! -

Don't know how I missed this comment! An interesting take on the divine affinity. Do either Vin of Stefan possess a trace of it? Who knows? Kaplan is damaged, and it's going to take a big teddy bear to fix it! -
Chapter 3: Desperate Detective
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 3: Desperate Detective
I love Cy and Kaplan romance! Considering his pas, it's so warming to see Kaplan finally being comfortable around an alpha like Cyrus. You'll quickly find that their relationship is (at least, I'm 95% certain) the comment section's favorite. -
Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge

Thanks for commenting, Raf! If karma is coming for Dirk, we can only ask how brutal he was in his earlier life towards humanity. The author is smelling a potential flashback chapter... -

Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge
Thank you for your feedback. I still consider myself a newer writer, and I'll work on dialogue for future projects. Dirk's scene does require some extra emotion. And I'll add that when I get the chance to do an edit. The big gripe is the mental dialogue. I've learned my lesson from suggestions made by Signature Authors, as as I've struck it from my newer stories. I needed to keep it in this one for continuity's sake. Can't change a book's style without changing all in its series. -
Glad you think so! Just think, we ain't even halfway done. Plenty of story left to be told!

Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge
We have a professional hypnotherapist in town and she's awesome! She's cured several people's addiction to cigarettes and even put me under a spell during one of our Chamber of Commerce meetings. Got rid of some of my procrastination issues, and I've been debating on seeing her again. I put fortune tellers in the same boat. The true ones are miracle workers. If you haven't read it, I suggest A Tattoo for Lex by kbois. The MC can see auras around people, determining their emotions and problems. It was a great addition to a non-supernatural story. -

How long is too long? Good question, but I doubt Aliz would be able to answer. Let's just assume Vincent needs to fight Stefan within the next five years . Thanks for commenting centex! -
I will definitely be contacting you in future months! My only experience is television portraying that time, but that's not an accurate frame of reference.

Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge
I don't think the bear's gone either. Just taking a nap. Mother Vincent might need some motherly advice... It's a challenge trying to balance the focus between Owensville and NY, but I felt a focus on Dirk was much needed. There are other sideplots going on, but Dirk felt like a character that got dragged along in Tierney's move. He needed a spotlight... even if it's a tragedy. He's a big bear, I doubt he'll crack. I think Vincent bringing Dirk news from Aliz will settle him down. As far Vincent's desire to work for the EC, there'll be more conversation about this topic later. I wasn't expecting to make Dirk go feral, but my fingertips wrote it... so here it is! The result was harsh, but his bear is now absent. So that takes away everything that makes him a bear: appetite, senses. The question is how human is he now? Does he need to start going to the gym? Thicc Dirk, anyone? I forkin' love your take on Aliz! I think of her as a data analyst/babysitter. She looks at EVERYONE'S destinies and guides them along, ensuring we don't get too many dictators, or vigilantes, or innovators in our world. If I was in Vin's shoes, I would've thought I was dead too! Just chilling in Antarctica, then surrounded by blank nothingness? Yep... a meteor fell on me or something. Only explanation. Ooooh, someone's being intuitive! Dirk's been nicer to humans, but maybe this will be his ultimate test: Live as a human! Lmao! A sock! That's funny. I'm not sure how many more celestial encounters we'll see from here on out. We got about 20-30 chapters left, and there's still a lot to cover! I love how you noticed Mason's need to protect his mate. His feelings are understandable, but I think he'll be getting a talkin' to very shortly about this... Ahh! Foreshadowing!!! Do you prefer Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines? The tiniest of spoilers: we won't see Rin until much, much later... Aliz warns against procrastination, but doesn't specify. Uh oh. This spells trouble for our hero. He may have earned a third stripe, but will the remaining deities take it as a warning to stay away? I love your comments, Philippe! And thanks for commenting, everybody! I'm glad you're enjoying the ride.- 38 comments
