Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal
Yeah! Stuerm's land is actually where I grew up (my pot-shots at Tell City are justified ). I'm writing frantically to have the next chapter ready for next week. -
Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal

Got it. I'll utilize this as learning information. Growing up in a small town also affected my outlook on audits and examinations, as it always fell on one person's shoulders. -
Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal

A fairly easy solution, but we don't know how long the EC's been hurting for auditors. It may have been out of comfort's sake to keep reeling in the positive evaluation scores on the EC's part. I'd say Fenn lucked out with Tierney. He's probably been dreaming of this moment. The second Tierney told Hunter to fork off, and then saw the GPS marking of visiting the enforcer's uncle... I'd have put all my eggs in Tierney's basket (so to speak 😋). To quote my favorite TV show, "I was wonderin' when the scrap was comin'." He doesn't treat his pack's wealth fairly, so imagine a clean fight is out of the question. Between Ty's fire and Cy's lightning... oh! Never mind! I found Patch! I think I should call the fire department. With Ty's former occupation, it's hard not to envision a dead work ethic. Come in, get the job done efficiently, and call it a day. New Yorkers gotta keep moving! I love this comment. Very analytical. High-quality rocking chairs can be worth the money, particularly if they are local and handcrafted. You want guaranteed sturdiness, and the ones at Cracker Barrel don't look it with their flat and thin seats. If someone is selling a chair that will hold my fat tushie for the rest of my days (I'd say Ty's got 100-125 years... small detail from Book 2, lycan can live ~200. Add in his magic energy, he's gonna live for a bit), I'd shell out several hundred bucks for a chair. The question remains is whether Tierny's gonna tussle or start torchin'. I love a good tilly! Donnybrooks are fun too! Never the same person on audits? Someone needs to tell that to the whole retail industry. My company has one guy to do 23 stores, and everywhere else I've been relies on the district managers. 🙃 Fenn said the second enforcer has no affinity, so it's just pure muscle Ty has to worry about. Thanks for commenting everyone! -

Thanks for commenting, Howzat! Stuerm better be careful, or Ty's gonna start flingin' fire. But how many guys will he have to go through? We'll find out next week... -
“Alpha Stuerm will see you now.” Rising from the waiting room loveseat, Tierney grabbed his briefcase. Judging, he snorted silently. Since when does a class-C territory holder need an auxiliary? Betas can act as such. He disregarded the brunette and opened the door. Tierney was immediately met by two men standing with Stuerm sitting behind a large desk. The older alpha smiled as he stood. "Now I heard I was due for an evaluation, but this is just a sight! Alpha Tierney Scott, I heard

I laughed so hard at this! Great prompt ideas! #25 is also interesting, but my mind is moving too quick to stick with an idea

It was vital for Essell to inform Garjah of the incoming verbal battle. Not understanding the art of politics can put his race at a severe disadvantage. I doubt Essell will be the chosen ambassador, as his attitude has shown. How far does Mommy Dearest's politicking tendrils go?

Chapter 1: Evaluating Evidence

Thanks for reading, Omay! I totally understand wanting to wait for the finished product, and I can't wait to see your reaction when Death in the Shadows is complete. -
Bradd's recognized the need to inform the partners about his interest in Keith... but will he talk to Keith about it first? Teenage drama incoming!

What a treat! An absolute treat! I enjoyed this unexpected, post-story chapter. Fantastic, Ye!

I'm pleased to hear the story flow is still in working order. Not having my two MCs in a chapter seems a little out of place, but there's so much story to tell without them. We'll see V and M shortly, don't you worry. Needless to say, I'm excited to showcase Cyrus' plans for the Summit game...
-
Not sure how many chapters this will be, but I'm figuring about 25-30 or so. Can't wait to see your comments when this thing's done!

Thank you for the compliment, centex! Wagner's gotta be careful, or he'll end up like Shaw. I missed them too! There's so many subplots, and I can't wait to reveal their outcomes.

Those... those don't go together. My bartender brain is fizzing out; I can't think of a suitable alcohol pairing for mac and cheese! Probably because mac and cheese is perfect and requires no booze on the side.

I love Dirk and Sarah. It's like a slightly more realistic version of Mason and Vincent's dating. Me thinks this will be a slow-burning relationship. And there's more to check in with! Haven't seen much of Dave, Stacy, and the Gage family yet. Same with Morrine. I'm surprised Tierney isn't breaking in the new house yet. He could use a good back-scratchin'. Thank you so much for reading, bedseller! I think that makes three readers I've caused to break their completed-only rule. I assure you, I try not to skimp on when content is released. My goal has always been one chapter a week per story. Still working on the complete rework of LitS, but it's getting there. I find your name amusing by the way. I used to sell mattresses a few years back. Spent a lot of free time sitting around doing nothing. I should have started writing back then... Thanks, Cincy! Hate saying it, but get ready for another Vincent/Mason-less chapter. Lots going on around them, and while they're still stars of the show, they're not the center of the universe. I feel like I've said it, but I'll say it again. Vincent recipe is Terry Crews' Mac and Jeezy recipe (stick that in Google). I stumbled upon it a few years ago, and everywhere I go with it people want more! Just make sure to use more seasoning, because that small amount of salt isn't gonna cut it. Garlic powder and Italian seasoning works wonders with it. I've spent too much time at work. Kept thinking, "What kind of bourbon mashbill is a seb-rye?" No need to apologize. I got a good whiskey joke about of it 😄

Nine hours. Nine… grueling and unforgivable hours. Cyrus groaned as he stood. Nearly everything was productive. The only moment his attention fizzled was the blowback from Michiko’s motion at the start. Fortunately, the majority outweighed the tardy. The political lectures were to be expected, but the amount of ranting bothered Cyrus. Over the course of the day, he found himself agreeing with Michiko more and more. She simply cuts through the bull. Recalling his giggle from her observation

Chapter 1: Evaluating Evidence
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 1: Evaluating Evidence
Glad to see your comment, Philippe! It tickles me to see Vinsy and Alpa used again. Reminds me to bring Lowe back into the picture. I've been debating on a secondary series (much later down the road) focusing on Lowe as the main character. Business is usual in both Owensville and New York, but many events and activities are coming up! -

I'll have another chapter posted soon, but I need to make another editing pass. Glad to see you back, JR! -
Now I'll be making future chapter comments with different names for Captain Schmitty.
-
Just a theory! But it's certainly what I'd do if I was writing...
-
Desertion of one's ship. I can't recall if the potential consequences have been mentioned or not. My only conclusion: Captain Schnerple and crew are dead. My high-odds bet: Capt did go after Essell's ship, but not until Essell was already on Garjah's ship. Garjah, or his ship, might have disintegrated the Captain on purpose should he have landed on Ardra with weapons drawn... 🤔
-
I'll bet Momma is the one who calls Captain Shiznips. I wonder what the punishment is for desertion in this story...

Hmm... Mom disapproves of Essell's actions for discovering a new race and becoming an unspoken ambassador? I loved this chapter, but one sentence stuck out to me: They still use paper? 🙃

Teehee! Sorry to leave everyone hangin', but I needed a little break to sharpen my skills a bit. I'm so excited to be back in Owensville! -
Chapter 1: Evaluating Evidence
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 1: Evaluating Evidence
Plenty left to do! It'd list all the events, but what kind of author would I be if I did? Just like the last two books, this one's gonna be a long one. Lot's to do, plenty to reveal, and that means a lot of cliffies!
