Hi everyone. I thought I would come back in and tell you what is going on in my life lately. I know all you you had freezing temps and probably no electricity and now busted pipes. I have the same thing. My sister has stipulated that my stepson and his wife have to get off the property since they are not paying rent or utilities. And that she will not shell out any more money to me after she has my trailer replumbed. She will be retiring tomorrow so her income will go down a lot. But she knows I have to live here and need water. I can not afford it cause I never made the kind of money she did to get by on and now that I live on my late husband's disabilty he was getting from Social Security then I am still in the same boat I was in when I worked but worse. The thing that happened today was bad. I finally called my stepsons wife when she texted me since my stepson seems to think other people are more important than his stepmom who is living on the same property I am. My sister is the administrator and executor of our dad's estate. I have no say so on what my sister does except if we sell the land. She said neither her, our brother or I own the land cause it is and always will stay in the estate unless it gets sold. But we can throw people off this land if they are freeloading off of one of us. My step daughter in law said she was going to sue us for throwing them off the land. I asked her if she was lying when she told me that they would leave the property if I told them to with no repercussions and no hard feelings. She hesitated and said finally that she was not lying. So I told her the third time that I wanted them to clean up the property that my stepson trashed and for them to find another place to live and move all their stuff off the land. My sister also said she got a hold of her lawyer and told them what was going on. Her lawyer told her that if she sued then there will be arrested for elderly abuse by not helping me at all like they both said they were going to do. Everything my stepson has done for me has never been finished. I still have trim to be put back on my walls, my back porch was never finished, and the wall paneling was never tacked down all the way. He did do my electricity and my plumbing that needed fixed in my bathroom 3 years ago which got finished. I could go on and on about what has happened but I will not do that. I am getting a worse headache now than it was before I started typing.

They seem to be free-riders and it is going to stop when I see my stepson. Can't talk to his wife cause she is out of town with her kids

My sister is having plumbers come work on my busted pipes and will have the electric hot water heater replaced. Plus she gave me emergency money too but she said this is the last time she will ever help me. She is retiring Friday and her income will go down a lot. Not as much as mine has when I lost my husband in 2015 and also when I had to stop working in 2012 to take care of him cause his health got worse. My social security would not even be enough to live on so that is why I live on a widows pension through him. So I will be fine. And I will have to tell my stepson to move all his crap and they will not be ale to stay here and live any more since he will not do what he is suppose to do to help me. I am also going to have to tell his wife too since she is out of town visiting her family.

People are not going to help me when they see my name. Not very many people around here and some even out of town or state knows me that can not stand me at all. So not going that route.

I have water leaks really bad and since I am 66 yrs old and living on a small social security check every month, it is hard for me to get plumbers to help me and my siblings are not able to help me all the time. My stepson and his wife try to help me but with neither one of them not working it is hard to get by during this pandemic. I am also having car trouble and was suppose to take my car in to see what is wrong with it and find out how much it will cost to have it fixed. I am also total electric so it is impossible to have natural gas at home since it would cost thousands of dollars to have the gas line replaced after not having it since 2006 due to a bad gas leak. I also have a bad feeling I will have to have my electric hot water heater replaced. I have not had water for over a week now. I have been getting water from my neighbor for my toilet to flush. I have a half a case of bottled water that was given to me by the Salvation Army for free. Our city water is not fit to drink where I live. But at least my electricity has been restored for 6 days and my cable and internet has been restored for 4 days now. So I am doing better than some people.

Welcome @headtransplant! There is a lot of reading to do here. I have been here since October and still haven't got through all their stories. There are a lot of good ones too!

I am doing alright even though I lost power for 33 hours. Just hope my pipes don't bust since they are frozen except my cold water in my kitchen sink. I also lost cable and internet during that time and it was restored this morning. I have never seen the extreme temperatures here in Texas that we have had in all the 66 yrs I have been alive.

@Bill W, I have electricity back on. My pipes, if the bust, will be fixed either by a neighbor if my stepson is not here. I live in a mobile home so it is easy to get under it and fix them. My friend in another town that is an hour and a half away, had all the pipes in her apartment building bust and flooded the apartments. She is homeless until they get it fixed. She is alright though cause she is in another building with the others in the lobby. My nephew and his wife and newborn baby had to stay at his moms cause their power went out. They all live in the same town as my friend. I opened all the faucets a little it to take the pressure off the pipes when they start thawing out. Just hope I don't have any problems at all. That is what I am worried about. But I did have to stay at a neighbors but had to leave the day the power came back on cause the guy's mom passed away and they had to deal with that. I went to another neighbor and stayed until the power did come back on and I walked to my house next door. So I am fine. Thanks for worrying about me. You stay safe yourself.

My bathrooms pipes are frozen and so is the pipes to my electric hot water heater. Just hope I don't have any pipes bust though. I do have cable and internet though finally. It came back on awhile ago

@BigBen, I will do my very best to stay warm. My problem is having to pay a high electric bill, and hoping that my hot water heater and pipes don't freeze. I am on Social Security with a small amount each month. Hoping we all get our stimulus checks soon.

Thanks @chris191070. @Zombie, I agree with you there. People say they are smart so why haven't they tried to come up with better plumbing materials. They actually need pipes that are insulated with a pipe inside for the water to go through. That way when you insulate your pipes again on the outside of them by wrapping them the they are double insulated.

I have not seen the weather this bad in Texas ever in my 66 yrs. I have not had electricity in days until yesterday morning at 11:30 am so it has been on for 13 hours now. Had to stay with a neighbor till yesterday when the guys mom passed away and went to another neighbors house with my dog. I didn't want to be a burden to them during all of their grief. She had terminal cancer. My living room is about 65f (17c) in certain spots so staying in that spot with a heater on near me blowing heat at me. My pipes in both bathrooms are frozen but since I have been dripping my water to my kitchen sink then I at least have some water here. It has been below 0f (-17c). I think it got down to -3f (-19c). This is weird for Texas. They are doing rolling blackouts here but the town I live near hasn't had their power off. Only in the rural communities and small towns near. I guess they think that we are not that important as the town of 25,000 is more important than our small towns and rural communities. I forgot that I had the site on my phone or I would have got on it. Thought about it after I finally got some sleep. For 4 days I have had 3 hours and 45 minutes of sleep. I was getting a headache last night so I put my dog's bed, food bowl and water bowl in my bedroom and with the small heater on we both stayed warm with the door closed.

I hope Spencer gets better. I am hoping it isn't zombieism. lol I know that is not a word but couldn't resist!

I laughed my head off the way that all the females in Shane's house acts! That is the most hilarious thing I have ever heard! I am a woman and even I think it is weird but hilarious!

Hopefully Trey and Dallas will finally figure each other out hehehehe

Now I know why when I o to the store and there are still boxes on the aisles at all hours of the day. The spotters and stockers are getting aggravated with the corporate office thinking they know how to do a better job of stocking!

I love the old time grocery stores where you can get your meat cut the way you want them cut. Use to get steak cut thick! So yummy!
