The plan backfires (if you will pardon the pun @Lee Wilson), its execution not carried out as planned as the sons become aware and try to "assist", causing all four to be trapped, unable to escape, perishing in an inferno, and to make matters worse it is a Disco Inferno, and they hate disco music as that is what "dem faggots" love.

It appears Mike has been hit with the "stupidity stick", repeatedly. He is none too bright. At the rate he is alienating his friends, he won't have any left soon. It sure sucks to be such a fuckwit.

I love Carson's formal manner of speaking, it is completely without pretence. I have a vivid image of his appearance and "hear" him very clearly as he speaks. A budding relationship between Ken and Lance. I did not see that coming.

Tony's sense of melancholy at the beginning of the chapter had bloody Alice Cooper paying me a visit already @Mark Ponyboy Peters. I am sure it must be the weather, with temperatures dropping and strong winds of late, causing my "allergies" to flare up. Both my cats have been very sneezy too, so it must be the "allergies" rather than tears before bedtime. Late January, the height of summer, my favourite time of the year. Sun, sun, sun, Pine Lime Splices and Tropical Blend Coconut Oil. I could not let this chapter pass without posting a song. The singer is certainly no longer "in fashion" and for very good reasons, but the song title and most of the lyrics, very apropos for Tony's return. And the song was a huge hit when we were 10 years of age @Mark Ponyboy Peters. You may not have been a fan, but I liked many of his songs between 1972 and 1974/75.

Please, no, not either. How about Boney M. as an alternative?

Neil's reaction to his mother going on a date was comical, childish and selfish. I agree with @Lee Wilson; I believe if Brenda had gone on a date with someone other than Neil's high school Deputy Principal, he may not have been so opposed to the date. Similarly to @Paladin, I also suspect there is likely an element of discomfort for Neil thinking his mother may be having sex with a man. He really needs to get over it, at this point in time it is none of his damn business and it is not the end of the world. And Brenda was right to call Neil out on his double standard too. Sammy has shown in the past she will not take any of Lucas' crap and I don't think this time will be any different. I suspect Alex will appear to "save the day" if it is needed. It will be interesting to observe Lucas' reaction to Gerry being black @weinerdog. Maybe he won't have an issue with black people. His homophobia appears to be the result of his Uncle's molestation of him; Lucas equating gay men with paedophiles.

She was not a conventional beauty, but still appeared very sprightly even as she approached death at 92. I watched a few other clips, but the Kurt Weill song was the one I liked best. I have had little exposure to his music, apart from a couple of songs covered by Marianne Faithfull, Alabama Song by Bowie and a few covered by Dee Dee Bridgewater.

Lynn's a fickle little hussy isn't she (LOL). Her appetite for boy is like my cats' appetites, one in particular is very fussy with her food and what she loves today she will refuse to eat the following week. DT is nothing like his father. His family appear well adjusted and happy, not dysfunctional at all.

Bloody marvellous chapter @Robert Hugill. Bas is brutally honest with Graham, but softened most of his comments with a little humour or with the obvious affection he feels for Graham. Moggie made an all too brief appearance, hopefully she will stay a little longer next time. Matt surprised me with his comment regarding Philpott Towers “Well, it’s rather ugly and I can’t work out what all the space is for.” I had a good chuckle, much like Bas did. And finally a visit to the Hugillverse is rarely concluded without learning something or being exposed to something new. This time it was Gisela May. I had never heard of her and did not understand a word she sang in the few Youtube clips I watched, but I am far more likely to buy a CD by her than I am by Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull or Pink Floyd. Marlene Dietrich with a lot less testosterone.

I am glad it was intentional otherwise it would have been just a little too "freaky".

Still thinking it, although they did briefly mention playing video games in one chapter. The only video games I like is the one sung by the fabulous Lana Del Rey.

Mr and Mrs Dirtbags. Love it, such descriptive names. Whilst the resolution of the various conflicts was absurd, the school "regime" I am sure would have seen it as a significant achievement. No time or money wasted on unnecessary investigations, the school not held accountable for anything and the problem(s) are swept under the carpet. Of course this would not do in the current climate, the gay boys would be solely to blame for choosing to be gay, and as for Karl Marlow, he may as well be gay as he is obviously a supporter of "dem fags" and does not hold any gun licences at all.

Statistically there is a distinct possibility Mike has tortured cats and possibly even dogs at some stage in his life. If this is the case, then you did not go far enough @Lee Wilson.

"The idiot bunch" aka "The Ted Nugents" barely have a combined IQ into double figures. I had a wonderful image of them as bowling pins, and as they went down they made a similar noise to bowling pins. No doubt they have a bright future as Young Republicans of Florida.

The hospital should perform a urinalysis on Mason to determine if he had any drugs in his system. He should be used to peeing "publicly" by now, so it should not cause any harm to his already deranged mind. I was somewhat shocked, but I guess not surprised that Mason did not soak his urine-soaked jeans when he took them off. I was very shocked, and frankly revolted, when his mother put said jeans in the washing machine with other clothes. Damn @drsawzall, I almost had a Masonesque accident of my own laughing at this comment of yours. And I can laugh, having a prostate the size of an avocado pit can have any manner of "troublesome" side effects at times. This story has all the hallmarks of another @Lee Wilson classic, including a character we all "love to hate". And I noted how they are the "on" family. Mason, Brandon, Carson, Madison and I can almost bet dad is Jefferson Gordon. Was this intentional Lee Wilson?

Aarrgghh. Chapter 2, and a "true" Wilsonian character emerges. Mason, the surrendered-for-adoption offspring of a teenage Abel Kraft and Kathy Nelson, except he is the spitting image of his younger and shorter brother, Brandon. A test of the old nature v nurture argument, Brandon and Carson, friendly, pleasant boys, Mason, psychopath, hellbent on ruining his brother's life for being different. I see a semi-trailer, driven by an older man who has had a heart "episode", careening out of control, heading towards Mason, SPLATTTTT. What a mess. They will have to hose him off the footpath. He won't need a coffin, just bury him in a blender. Revenge was not necessarily sweet @Lee Wilson, but I bet it sure was sticky. Nurse to Mason "Mason, you misunderstood. We only needed a urine sample, peed into this small jar. You did not have to take a golden shower. My oh my, you sure are a stinky one".

I am just glad you spelt Carlo with a C and not a K @Lee Wilson. Karl, Kyle and Karlo. The physical and emotional descriptions of Carlo and Karl remind me of some other Wilsonian delights, Domenico Martini and Jake Mason. Carlo's name in particular, is a gem. Carlo Marini, it just rolls off the tongue like honey or pasta al dente. Although I have never watched a game of gridiron and have no desire to (I assume this is what Karl was playing), I almost heard bones crack with Karl's crushing tackles (?) of opposing players. I am breezing through this story thus far @Lee Wilson. It is like a summer breeze (Isley Brothers version please).

No mention of social media, video games or iPad's. Blessed relief. I like these boys already, I have a feeling young Carlo might be a bit of a larrikin. Off to a great start @Lee Wilson. I think it might well be interesting and entertaining.

Sex and humour, this story has lashings of both, often at the same time. The humour is both dark (which particularly appealed to me) and light, the sex both ordinary and kinky. Characters abound, some delightful, some hideous, and some a mishmash of both. Characters with whimsical names, some a caricature in appearance and some with bizarre behaviour feature prominently. @JLynch's style had me reminiscing about several of John Waters' best films and/or of David Lynch's marvellous Twin Peaks. Forget reading, writing and arithmetic. This story has murder, mayhem and masturbation, a far more interesting trio than their more academic "colleagues". I used the words frothy and lubricious in several comments on various chapters. I found both words apropos until the end of the story, even in some of its gorier moments. Read it and laugh, riotously.

What a delightfully upbeat chapter for the most part. James and Alex are forging a stronger father/son relationship as Alex is far more forgiving of his father than what his arsehole of a brother, Keith, is. Apparently James' ex-wife Cammie has even made comments about Keith's belligerent attitude towards his father. James' self-reflection was refreshing; his awareness of the advice he is doling out to Alex being advice he should follow himself, indicative of his somewhat fragile self-image still. My only disappointment with this chapter @ChromedOutCortex, no details of the menu options at the vegetarian/vegan restaurant. I am vegetarian and often have vegan meals, and am always interested in reading of such food.
