Another way of saying the same thing appeared in Matthew 7: 1 (King James Version). "Judge not, that ye be not judged." -

Bill W commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
This word originated from Latin: ultra (beyond), crepida (shoe, sandal), and re supra crepidam sudor ludicaret (the cobbler should not judge beyond his shoe). Was introduced into English in the early 19th century. The term was coined in 1819 by the English writer William Hazlitt. -

Just so you know, here are some adjectives for woolly: furry, fuzzy, hairy, rough, shaggy I think Jason fits into those descriptions. -

ulotrichous - (adj) - having woolly or crisply curly hair -
It seems only logical that you would ride in a 'cattle car' to get to and from the stampede. I hope you were riding next to a group of cute guys then, since you were bouncing around and into each other.

I guess ulotrichous would describe Jason Momoa as well. -
Quote @Valkyrie I could clearly see the driver and his passenger and the looks of terror on their faces when they realized the light was red, followed by them bursting into laughter. I wonder if they realized how close they came to something that would have ended in tragedy(?) Val, that might be what you'd refer to as nervous laughter, as they realized how close they came to having a serious accident, not that they thought it was funny. All of you seem to have had an angel riding on your shoulder that day.

I believe with inflation it's about $10.00 now.

I've been watching this series all along and have been enjoying it. It gives you a bit of a history lesson as well, since it shows the progression through the years. I also love the complex, and often volatile, relationship between Daniel and Louis and Lestat

Thank you, Danilo and Chris. I appreciate the sentiment and hasn't been long since the boys were celebrating another Fourth of July, back in Chapter 20.

nubivagant - Word of the Day - Thu July 4, 2024

Nubivagant also appears to be a category of music: Black Metal, focusing on themes such as evil, horror, death, emptiness, despair, and occultism -
When I was younger it was more common to see a person with a large nose, but after rhinoplasty started becoming more popular in the late 20th century and the cost was in range of more people, those with large noses seem to get them taken care of as soon as possible.

Yes, Mac is sort of like a mother to Devin. Devin teases him about making lists, but it shows how organized Mac is, and Devin might have benefitted from a list in this case. lol Yes, helping grandparents or elderly parents move into a retirement house is always difficult, that's why I kept my elderly relatives closer to home. There was still the moving to get them there, but we had a chance to keep a closer eye on them.

I'm glad it worked out for your dad. As I indicated in this chapter, I believe there are a few good places left that aren't being run by those just into it for the money. In my case, we took care of my in-laws, because we lived in a big old farm house that provided them with their own living room, bed room, full bath, and we shared the kitchen and laundry areas. Later, after we'd moved to another location, I took care of my mother and aunt (her sister), because there was a second building behind our house that contained two apartments (It was the reason I purchased it in the first place). I hope the situation doesn't get any worse for other seniors, because I know many are struggling and others are already homeless. It's a shame that the country doesn't feel an obligation to help them, because the majority weren't freeloaders and just spent their life working low paying jobs, especially the single/divorsed women.

I'm glad to hear they fared better than most, even if it was a bit of a struggle.

I'm glad that your parents were treated well and I feel badly for your aunt. Unfortunately, those types of stories are far too frequent when it comes to the elderly. Although many had worked their entire lives and struggled to barely get by, or were in the military, too often those handling the purse strings turn a blind eye, since they can afford better for themselves and their loved ones.

nidificate - Word of the Day - Tue Jul 2, 2024
Bill W commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
There are many species that nidificate, and here's another example of a group that builds their own type of nest. -
Unfortunately, some of these places get bought out or taken over by entities that are only out to make huge profits, so they cut down on the extras until it is become little more than a warehouse for the elderly until they die, especially the nursing homes.

I couldn't have said it better. The information in the story was what I read online about the facilities I described, but I've had no actual experience with them. The situation may have changed since then, but it's what was described on their websites at the time. However, I agree with you that what is happening is disgraceful, and if Congress starts dismantling Social Security, then the situation will get even worse for senior citizens.

Yes, it can be very expensive, but before you told us that, I wouldn't have expected Idaho to be quite so expensive. What are normal apartment rental rates in comparison?
